"He's just a kid, no older than my son" Those lines hits hard when all of the people in the train though Spider Man was someone trained professional with powers instead of just an average hustilng pizza boy
@@ChickenTablet96the original avengers and infinity war and endgame and also the first captain America are up there too though, for me all those are tied for first but this scene alone is my childhood
A couple of notable moments in this fight: 1:35 where the movie doesn't show you what Spider-Man is reacting to until he's already reacted to it. It gives the viewer impression that Spider-Man can react to things quickly even though any normal person would have seen that coming from far away. Then 10 seconds later at 1:45 where he slips through the openings on the bridge and we see the bridge coming, which gives the viewer time to see what he needs to react to so they can fully appreciate the maneuver he uses. Then at 2:09 within just a couple seconds, Doc Ock notices the oncoming train , Spider-Man doesn't at first because hes facing away but then does and reacts quickly once again. And again, all of this happens too quickly for the viewer to fully register everything until it's already happened. Everything is happening in real-time, no slow-mo effects once theyre on the train. They were able to show just how smart and fast both the hero and the villain can respond to their reflexes and think on their feet. And all while keeping the fight in real-time without confusing the viewer.
This wasn’t CGI, Tobey Maguire actually stopped a train and they just happened to have the cameras rolling. Sam Raimi ended up loving the footage so much he used it in the final film.
Man , its not only about nostalgia , compare this fight with tom and even andrew's fight , tobey fights are the best, no long talks , no gimmicks , no childish pranks , only top tier actions . For me , tobey spider and cap 2 winter soldier are the best movies of marvel .
@@iacovoskritz4896 No. In those movies, it feels like New York is a part of their fight, whereas in this scene, it seems like anywhere behind the battleground is down a funnel. In the MCU, the only Spider-Man movie scenes that feel off are the Washington Monument and Tower Bridge before reaching Mysterio. There, they don’t feel like a funnel, but they just feel like plaster. Same could be said for this scene, but this was an early 2000’s movie (which was an era that also liked paler colors), so I’m not against that aspect.
While Tobey's Peter is busy fighting Doc Ock and trying to stop a runaway train, Andrew's Peter hasn't even gotten his own spider bite yet and Tom's Peter is a child wearing an Iron Man helmet and getting praised by Tony Stark.
Going back as an adult and watching tobeys movies make me realize his version of spider man was way more brutal than the others. Bro was fighting to kill 😂
I watched this movie and especially this scene hundrends of times when i was 5 years old. I am now 23 still having the same chills and amazement like my childhood. This was the best marvel movie ever. Tobey was the best spiderman and i am very glad i was raised with his movies.
What if i told everyone all spidermans versions has too hold their punches alot?LOL!Im not kidding this man can catch bullets even dodge alot of things! Also stop a train? Is an equivalent of a house or building you stop too!Man i wish i saw more of that but its only the comics that too bad even the cartoon version did him right now.I just wish movies would go higher more of the stakes!Their is alot of things people don't know spiderman alot now.
I used to watch Spiderman cartoons which everyone loveds back in the day & Sam Raimis with Tobey McGuire was the real deal Spiderman brought to the screen, the subsequent ones produced by others did not live up to Sam Raimi's vcersion.
As cool as the scene with the people on the train goving his mask back people in reality would be taking pictures and recording on their phones the whole thing
You know, unless I've been missing something the entire time this movie has been released for, Oc is just a dude right? No particular physical enhancements; not inherently any more durable than a regular person... So how can he square up with someone who can single-handedly stop a train going at maximum overdrive?

These movies felt like the 90s Spiderman animated series brought to life. Perfect companions to watch together.
Loved that series especially when Tobey narrates Peter
Tobey never narrated in the Spiderman The Animated Series @@manishsohal6015
Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy and Spider-Man: The Animated Series, the best of Spidey!
Spider-Man 2 still one of the best superhero movies ever made
Yup!
not just one of, its the best out there
The best

Perhaps one of the most legendary rescue scenes of all time ❤
Nothing hits harder than watching Tobey Maguires Spider-Man. He was truly the OG Spider-Man. And always will be.

Oh, for fuck’s sake. 😂 But seriously, I really appreciate the laugh. I needed that.
Let’s all be real. This movie was WAY ahead of its time.

Gotta agree with that
Thats absolute facts. Esp the cap mention, winter soldier had the best action in like the whole modern mcu
Can we just acknowledge the fact in that moment when he dragged doc ock off the clock tower, he was ready to die and take doc ock with him
Looks more realistic than current Spiderman movies
No it doesn’t
@@Sean-qg3ggit actually does. Movies today look too green-screeny. This looked seamless

@@Sean-qg3gg so does Spider-Man in every MCU movie 😂 the cgi is actually shocking.

This year will be the 20th anniversary of Spider-Man 2. They need to bring it back in theaters on June 30th. The day is came out.
Scenes like this show why Spider-Man is holding back in almost every fight. And it also shows why he should win just about every fight.
forgot how incredible this scene was
Who wants spiderman 4 with tobey maguire for 2024? because I do.
Hell yeah
I do with Eddie Murphy
But who's the villain then
@@FearlessBattles13Would be cool to see a more underrated villian such as Tombstone or Kraven

Best popular superhero fight on TH-cam!!!!😊😊😊😊
Easily the best spider man fight but I’d say one of the best action sequences in cinema history.
This was the best fighting scene in any superhero movie.
This film is a nostalgia that marked my childhood Tobey Maguire and the best Spider-Man in history ! 🥺
it never gets old
unlike me who's 20 years more older than
when i first watched this movie
The greatest scene in scene history
And this became a classic
Spider-Man showed his secret Identity
I swear spiderman is the only trilogy that is saving the MCU.
Peter sitting there and thinking, where's my neuralyzer?
Best movie.
Best Spider-Man movie 🙌 ❤️
Everyone standing up for him at the end always gets me. ❤

Can’t believe spider man tried to take him out with the debris like a fucking spear 😂
Credits to d-r Otto who ate a lot of Spiderman kicks and punches and continues to fight. Strong man!
Here after seeing re release in theaters. Its a masterpiece and some scenes just don't holdup on a regular tv !

That Scream Got me chills
This Spiderman man was best, look wise, acting wise, action wise, romance wise
Spiderman is AMAZING! Can you imagine how annoyed this man is 😩😅 he dodges everything you throw at him ( or him into)
Beautiful battle
I always love color grading in old movies, lots of subtle dark. not like modern movies who always high contrasts, neat and clean like virgin
its so nice from doc octopus to throw the people in Spider mans direction...
2024 he would've been all over the internet 😂😂
tobey the best spiderman
The ORIGINAL SPIDER-MAN! NO ENHANCED SUITS JUST HEART, PURE POWER AND INTELLIGENCE
Rewatching this idk how Doc Ock was taking those punches 😂😂
Spider-Man basically became Hulk in this scene.
Is that Joey Diaz?!😂 never noticed haha
yeah with the way hes breathing and smacking he was probably coked up lmao
