Thats why i hear 80% sample playlists in my freetime. In the car, in the bath … and at the right sample there comes always the „yes thats it“ effect 😀 and if u make beats u have time for mixing and dont must search 2 hrs for samples
It'll be confusing for a lot of people but you can also find the key of the song with the spectrum tab on wave candy. Just turn up the max res to the highest and tune the scale and db range for what melodies you want eventually you'll understand it though. Hovering your mouse over the notes that show up actually display what note it is. Hope it helps some people it can be intimidating though.
thank u so much, u really helped me with the basics of not only phonk, fl studio too im new and i dont even know how to do basic ''controlling windows and things'' shit too tho lol...
Common to phönk is the old Sega style midi cowbells and I keep looking for whatever fighting games the seem to be inspired by. I want to hear some game themed phonk
When I make my own melodies, I match them to the root note of my chords using ghost notes. So can I make my 808 like a melody and not match the chords of the sample? Sometimes I match it up to the sample, but it is very time consuming and restrictive.
Hey man! Your videos are so helpful I absolutely love them. I was wondering if you might do anymore lofi/boom bap tutorial videos like the Jar Jar Jr one?
good vid zapp tutorials on point like always :) One thing tho. what if we are using more than one chop from the same sample, but they are in different keys?
I'm confused because when I open your Cm scale it includes the notes C, D# and G but any info i can find of the Cm scale online says it should have C, D, D#, F, G, G# and A#. idk which one to use, any help understanding this would be greatly appreciated
Yo zapp i bought your vol 2 drumkit and under acapellas theres this file thats called this is lowkey lit asf and i cant find the original song shazam and soundhound didnt find it can you please tell me what the song is called
Legitimately informative vid but to be honest, this gives me a headache. Skipping through hordes of random videos looking for a snippet of viable material literally leaves no room to genuinely appreciate the music that you're potentially going to be repurposing. Maybe I'm a snob or a tryhard but I feel like the OG Memphis / H-Town loops were so catchy because those cats were brought up on that shit; jazz, instrumental records, so on. So they had mountains of emotion already associated with those 1-3 second loops. For people like myself who were never exposed to this type of sampleable music, the best course of action would be to throw on a random record and listen to it long-form; that way you're not just jumping wildly through such sometimes intricate, slow burning material. Because not to dis you or anything, but modern phonk sounds largely like Walmart / Target commercial music specifically because people aren't FEELING their samples, drum sounds, beat patterns, etc. Take care, no hate just observation
Finding the right sample can be an even longer grind than making the beat itself.
fact, sometimes you can't even find one
true
@@glareO8O the whole magic of sampling is flipping things people wouldnt normally think to flip.
