Cosori Air Fryer Recall UK And Europe | Are We affected?

- On 23rd Feb 2023, Cosori announced they were recalling 2 million Air Fryers across the USA, Mexico and Canada. The Air Fryers possibly affected operate on the 120 volt electrical system in these countries and not the 230 volt system for the UK and Europe. They are not affected.

That’s where the confusion began when it was reported on the BBC online and the DAILY MAIL. Why they needed to report it I will never know. It’s got nothing to do with the UK! Thanks for this Martin 😊

@@thelion43 well it just caused a lot of confusion, I’m sure USA could’ve coped with spreading the news without the help of the BBC, even THE DAILY MAIL pipped up which has nothing to do with USA, CANADA or MEXICO.
Just had confirmation from Cosori UK is not affected.
I also read the story on the Daily Mail hence letting Martin know.

Thanks so much for this clarification for UK (and European) folks who may have been worrying unnecessarily. I got in touch with Amazon UK via my account as soon as I realised that my air fryer model number was on the recall list and they put my mind at rest immediately. Agree that the media made a real pigs ear of the whole thing with their usual sensationalism. Thank goodness there are people like yourselves around who are able to explain reasons for the recall and why this only applies to the US, Canada and Mexico. Cheers Martin! 👍
I have had an official email from the Cosori team in Europe, they have assured me there is NO problem at all with the Cosori built for the UK. I will be using mine as normall. I have this model CP-158-AF.

Appreciate your video. I have the Cosori XXL (after watching all of your videos 🤩), I checked my model number after hearing about this recall, and contacted Amazon to ask them if my model was affected, and they came back extremely quickly and told me this...
Quote "regarding this issue. The manufacturer, COSORI has confirmed that models sold in UK and EU are not affected.

I am relieved and will cotinue to use my Cosori without any worries. My partner said it was probably due to the voltage being different in the USA on their models, then I saw your video come through about this, and you have confirmed that to be the case, thank you.

I contacted Cosori directly and they confirmed the problem is ONLY with the 110v models sold in the USA CANADA MEXICO
NOT in UK OR Europe.
Have been in contact with the Cosori suppliers, and they have confirmed the UK ones are fine

Great video GB Cosori Air Fyer 1700W÷240V=7.083A USA/Canada/Mexico 1700W÷120V=14.16A there is the difference USA/Canada/Mexico models pulling double the amperage hope this helps keep up the good work Cheers

No recall for uk & Europe, why? Different voltage, there is no problem at all, do not panic, I have received confirmation from Cosori

Interesting i just saw one on ebay that was used and had a burn mark on the back. Seller stated it smells burnt when in use. It sold for £10 and i just checked the voltage it was 120v yikes.I will keep the voltage in mind and look at their range again.😊
Iv got a red cosiro /5.5 draw as got to be wedged up for draw to close Amazon sent replacepment and the same problem if I take wedge off it shuts off

Thank you Martin, I contacted Amazon and spoke with a lovely customer service lady. She said exactly the same as you. Here in the U.K. our voltage is different to those in the USA, Canada and Mexico. I don’t understand how people here in the U.K. have been given refunds etc. Amazon have assured me that if I purchase one and there are any problems whatsoever here in the U.K. they will contact me. Therefore, I am going to order one today. I have to shake my head at some people, I really do.
"I don’t understand how people here in the U.K." - perhaps you underestimate the motives of some people. There will be loads of people trying to use this as a means to get a refund while being able to keep the product, because Amazon do have a habit of letting that happen.
@@X22GJP Yes, I agree with you. There are always those types who take advantage of a situation. But in the USA they are making the customers cut the cable and film themselves doing it, so they can’t sell them on.
I have a Corsori air fryer that is listed, but I live in Canada! Amazon notified me of the recall but it was Corsori who actually dealt with replacements once all the details and photos of the fryer were submitted along with a photo proving we had cut the wires to disable it and prevent further use. I was given a choice of replacing with a number of products to choose from if I didn’t want another fryer. I am very impressed with the way Corsori have handled this potential problem. They were very quick to respond and my fryer is expected within the next week or so. By the way, I really enjoy your channel! 🇨🇦!

if you followed the instructions and cut the cord off, you would look a fool when they told you it does not apply to your model, and we dont sell spares but we will sell you a brand new one

All info I spoke about was taken directly from Cosori. Its nothing to do with the UK models. The media never needed to headline this in the UK. It only relates to USA, Mexico and Canada on the 120 Volt System. Thanks Julie.

I don't care what voltage is affected we have just returned our Cosori to Amazon. All confidence and Credibilty ls lost for Cosori. I will never buy any of their products again!!!!!!!!!

beware of advising if you are not 100% sure it is not a fault in other cosori places, somone might sue for improper advice if only one fault is found in other nations, i returned mine i dont need the hassle and im sure there are vunerable people out there that also dont need the worry!

I bought that model after watching your videos using Air fryers. This is the first time I’ve heard of this problem/recall. Like the UK Spain where l live, uses a similar power system as UK….ie:- 230 v @ 50 cps….It’s true Spain did use 110 volts, however, since I’ve been living here it’s always been the higher voltage. Any holiday maker knows you only need a plug converter to us UK appliances. The connecting system is all that is required. The only time l ever used 110 v was in the industrial sense on construction sites where the connectors are totally different …

Social media and the press have a lot to answer for. I know several people who have knee jerked and returned their machine. Now they won't touch Cosori !!!! I LOVE my Dual Blaze.
Finally, a video confirming UK Cosori air fryers are not affected by this,thanks for doing this. You're rright,, the ones with the problem are a different voltage and do not even have 3 pin UK plugs, they have the 2 pin American plugs...
What about Australia? Asia? Africa? Scotland?
