I was 7 when the first HTTYD came out, I was on a ferry boat on my way to my grandparents house in little Petersburg, Alaska and this boat just happened to have a theater in it, so a few months after the movie came out I was watching it for the first time on a boat. This movie was so breathtaking with the amazing music, scenery, and story that it was the highlight of the boat ride down, sadly I almost forgot about the movie a few years later
Then at age 11 HTTYD 2 came out, re- capturing my heart and attention to the amazingness that was the sequel. We weren’t able to watch it in theaters because we were in the middle of moving, but my mom got it as soon as it came out in DVD, and I vividly remember having to walk away to hide my tears from my siblings and parents when that dreadful part happened (you all know the part) and I never forgot the movie again
And then, at age 16, the third movie came out. By this time I had already memorized the first movie word for word and was super excited for “the hidden world” to come out, I had been eagerly awaiting the day I would get to watch it from the very first time the trailer/teaser was shown. Several of my friends thought I was extremely weird and childish being the age I was waiting for this movie to come out, and I ended up getting slightly bullied for it, but I didn’t care. Then came the day I had been waiting for, the line was massive but thankfully we got there an hour early to beat the line and we were lucky enough to get one of the best seats (in my opinion the back seats are the best) the excitement was extreme and the heartbreak was even more so when the time came that the dragons had to leave.
I was 9 when the first movie came out. 13 when the second came out, and 18 when the third came out. I'm 21 now and I still love the movies all the same. There's a big difference between a "kids" film, and a "family" film. Films like HTTYD are meant for all ages. You'll find that films like it usually have more grown up themes in them so that adults are also satisfied. I rewatched the third movie recently, I'm a 21 year old male and I cried like a big baby. I also cried at the second film. I'll still continue to enjoy them for the rest of my life, cause god damn they're legit the best animated movies around

А когда мне было 12-13 лет, я увидела, как мой младший брат смотрит "Драконы: гонки по краю", и я заинтересовалась. Начала с ним смотреть. Потом открыла для себя все части фильма и конкретно залипла. До сих пор пересматриваю (сериал Драконы, где 5 сезонов). С любовью. Считаю, что это самый лучший мультсериал. Мне 17, на днях будет 18.
