I have a couple things that I think may be related to questionable science in the episode. As far as the fire goes, I think Mae drops the lantern when she drops the burning book. I hear what sounds like breaking glass at that moment. If that is the case, it makes the fire burning out of control more plausible because it could be the fuel in the lantern that is burning and spreading the flames throughout this hallway and room. Secondly, when we see the witches gathering and chanting or whatever around the well, it reminds me of the Spout hole/cave in The Last Jedi on Ahch-To. I am curious if the well is an access point for the dark side like that cave was.
Well, there you have it. My whopping 2 cents and insight.

Thanks for the comment! Mae definitely tosses both the book and the lantern down, which then shatters and we see some fuel on the ground. It was probably a similar amount we would see in an old kerosene lamp, perhaps a little more.
Regarding the hole, I've noted the question for us to explore more on the Patreon show. I think you could be on to something there, though. They're doing something both before and during the ceremony in front of it, so perhaps that's the focus point for the nexus and then the alignment of the moons enhances it even further for some cosmic reason! -Jonesy.

I'm not enjoying the series... Started interesting, but the choices they are doing... It's difficult to fix everything in the last episode 😢

Thanks for the comment, Katia! Is there a particular character or arc (or something else) that is not working for you?
I agree there are a lot of loose ends as we head into the finale, and we know not all of them will be neatly tied once we're done. This was a series where we knew we'd have to see all 8 episodes before passing final judgement around how we feel it all played out. That's definitely turning out to be the case on a variety of levels.
Once the series is over, Albert & I will likely do a season lookback to review it as a collective work. I'm interested to see how we feel once we can view it as its own little saga. The lookback would likely include individual character focuses, as well as the overall story/execution of the season. Should be a fun set a shows, so stay tuned!
