    Very confusing , perplexing puzzling is this problem statement...At multiple places i found that literature review precedes problem statement but here Mam saying that problem statement leads to literature review... than how we got to know about the problem in first place?

      It's an iterative cycle - you start with an idea of the problem and then review literature to learn about what others have discovered. You then revise your original problem statement and continue repeating this process until you have completed your review of the literature.

      Thank you, Levy! The knowledge gap should clearly articulate what remains unknown about the problem you plan to investigate. Try using this template:
      While ________ is known, _________ is unknown.
