Moved to Utah a couple years ago to snowboard. That segment around 23:51 unlocked something in my brain regarding park. Never thought about how I scramble for the lock in rather than accepting not getting it. Thank you for this content as seeing you at a base point learning tricks and pushing your limits is amazing.
Managed to hit the (very) feared steel tube down at my park, my chin is finally avenged, got those almost on lock for simple back boards! Those snow videos gave me confidence so cheers
Keep up the consistency G luv ya 🫶 and holy those boardslides were satisfying, new camera angle looks sweet once you find what works don’t stress have fun ! Also idk if 1440p is an ideal option for you but it would make the vids a lot crispier
unluckly this year i cannot do snowboarding cause i hurt myself on mtb...thanks to your new snowboard contnet i can really have wonderful snow vibes...thanks Garrett as always your channel it s amazing and fun
Loving the snowboarding content, growing up in the Great Lakes area, I never got too crazy into it other than doing dumb things on really small hills. One of these days I want to try it again and see if I still like it, but no real spots to do it at other than a couple hours drive for a small resort.
one tip id recommend trying is when doing boardslides on a snowboard, stay over your foot compared to middle of your board like on a skateboard. As a skater imagine it feeling like doing a boardslide on your skate but the rail up against your truck, and lean like that.
Might sound boring but just strapping in on your board and just hopping onto a flat skate rail helps a lot. Helps you get more confident with locking in. Used to do this in the fall to get comfortable before the season started. When you want to get into nose and tail presses it helps with commitment.
Most of your fear is probably coming from having something attached to your feet. Maybe try doing that with your skateboard next time you want to practice
You should work on your carving for a couple of runs out of the park and work on your edge control!! Super important for being confident on your board in the park. Got to stay on those edges without shaving off speed and sliding out at all
Bro word of advice get you a big gear bag with all your stuff in it you'll never forget anything ever !! Did it for years snowmobiling never forgot anything
To do a 360 in and out off a 50/50, you need to lock your core, in order to stop rotation. and then use counter rotation to start up the 360 out, and lock your core again to stop rotation on landing...
Break in your board and bend the heck out of its, make it flexy..Set your stance as wide as you can, that'll help with slides and butters once you get used to it
you're looking way more comfortable on a board man. I think your biggest thing with the butters is start trying to use the boards flex and spring to help pop you out of nose and tail butters to give you more time to 270 out
Great video. Man you progress quickly. Love it. I need to take same approach and be a little more systematic about it. Another great video, keep them coming. Cheers
I’m the exact opposite. I’ve been snowboarding for over 30 years. Boardslides on a snowboard are just a normal thing. But on a skateboard, they’re harder and kind of scary. The craziest one that I just started learning, is the boardslide on the bi-deck snowskate. That one really messes with my head and is really scary.
I used to put multiple layers on as well, but once I tried thermal leggings and shirt I stopped putting on sweatpants under the snowpants and only put on a sweatshirt over the thermal shirt when it was colder outside than usual, other than that just the thermal shirt and the snow jacket. Thermal leggings and shirts really do their jobs, cause they do not absorb sweat so when you stop you do not feel the cold sweaty moisture in the fabric , they are lighter and distribute your overall temperature based on the heat your body produces. Sometimes I even forgot thati I had anything underneath. You may want to try them out. Also, what you should try out is nose butter up the kicker and launch yourself into a 180/270. I kept on waiting to see if you'll pull it off :)))) really liking the snow sessions :)
The other day I went snowboarding and finally it all clicked I could hit front boards I could throw fat 180s and 360s all that failing payed off you just gotta send everything imo
I haven’t been in years. But I used to be the opposite and have almost no fear while snowboarding. It’s so much easier being attached. You just can’t bail lol.
Recommend Setting up a board with the Carver C5 surf skate truck and their rear truck. This will be closer to maneuvering a snowboard on the roll-up and make you very aware of landing tricks even.
@@GarrettGinner Oh dang! Sorry mane. back when I was a lil grom in the 80s I seriously f'd up my ankle ollieing over a Cool Whip container. I didn't eat Cool Whip for years.🤣
So sorry but those aren't carves. Those are skid turns. But I can help you. To start learning to carve start your turn and apply even pressure across your edge on both feet. Only your edge will be in the snow and it'll actually speed you up.
I think if you just strapped into your board on grass and just practiced doing 90 degree jumps and turns you would be a lot more confident! You have all the skill just gotta get over that mental block!
I taught snowboarding for 3 years and honestly bro just focus on your weight distribution and edge control. Naturally your body will want to lean backwards based off fear, force yourself to put more weight on your front foot it will keep you centered more over your board. You can genuinely not move your upper body at all and make it down the mountain if you correctly use your toeside and heelside edges, bending your knees gives you so much more control over those edges than you think so make sure to be very loose no diddy
Sick video man! How easy do you think the opposite project would be? As a well rounded park rat guy snowboarder, do you think translating that to a skateboard with rails would be easier or harder than your project?
Get yourself some knee pads. It’ll help with confidence and your knees will thank you in the long run! You’re also less likely to put your hands down to break your fall and damaging your wrist.
The audio off of the media mod case is sounding way better! Stoked to see you progress this season, you're already looking way more confident.
Ayy love to hear that, thank you!
your progression is crazy, you gonna be raw at the end of the year
Im just getting into snowboarding and Im enjoying this content bro the numbers don’t lie

Love this stuff. You got me inspired to work on back board this Thursday.
Would love to see you spend some time surfing too!

ps havent seen one of your vids in years and the beard looks great.

Yo Garrett you should do small upgrades to the ranger and use it as your snowboarding vehicle and keep the tundra for your work/side projects
thank you garrett
Your progression is insane

back in the day we used to use a bike innertube to strap our feet to our skateboard maybe practice like that so its kinda like a snowboard
Bro word of advice get you a big gear bag with all your stuff in it you'll never forget anything ever !! Did it for years snowmobiling never forgot anything
Speed is your friend, it will help allot on those features.

Hit the kink rai!l you got!. They're easier than they look, n feel amazing!
Get a roll of snow flex and build a wedge ramp to rail for snowboarding, you could set it up for the mountain board too 🤔👊
Break in your board and bend the heck out of its, make it flexy..Set your stance as wide as you can, that'll help with slides and butters once you get used to it
what helped me learn front board was aiming for my front binding rather than the middle of the board try it out next time you go
Camera angles are dialed! Sick video dude!
Snowboarding is my favorite thing to do ever 🔥🔥

I just saw you at the store and I recognized you but could remember where I knew you from. Ain’t that something
This inspired me to start snowboarding again this year
This video is actually sick to see, very cool progression and riding.
Happy holidays dude thanks for the parasocial activity stay happy stay healthy
Great video. Man you progress quickly. Love it. I need to take same approach and be a little more systematic about it. Another great video, keep them coming. Cheers
your progression is insane. i really need to conquer some of my rail fear.

"See you at the top" is the new "look at that view thooo" 😂😂😂
One day we will get the ultimate combo.
😂😂😂
Love the snowboard content

Tahoe is the prefect backyard to progress!!! You should hit up the boy Casey Willax for some tips
The other day I went snowboarding and finally it all clicked I could hit front boards I could throw fat 180s and 360s all that failing payed off you just gotta send everything imo
Great video, wish we could all snowboard together
See you at the TOP!
I haven’t been in years. But I used to be the opposite and have almost no fear while snowboarding. It’s so much easier being attached. You just can’t bail lol.
time to learn lip slides. for me front lips are really fun and easier to do almsot more than front boards
You're better than me! I've snowboarded for 17 weeks! That is pretty long!
great new camera work
Loving it buddy!!

this is perfect! love it (:
i fw the snowboard content heavy
Broski you could put the green rail across the ground connecting one drive way to the other… maybe? Happy days with the hollys
I thought the exact same thing, either great minds think alike or we are nuts lol
Need some "See You At The Top" merch.
Hello Garrett, been a while since I commented, and we do miss the sweeping content
FS Lip needs to go down on that bike rack rail. Also 50-50 to boardslide needs to happen on the out and down rail.
I dislocated my shoulder last time I tried a front lip and now I’m terrified 😂
@@GarrettGinner Oh dang! Sorry mane. back when I was a lil grom in the 80s I seriously f'd up my ankle ollieing over a Cool Whip container. I didn't eat Cool Whip for years.🤣
awesome dude. ✨❄
You should start doing some 50 back and front 180 outs
You’re gonna be so stoked when Kingvale opens
Another banger 🔥
Love your vids :)
time to 180 the ramps and or grabs. half cab boards. 180 out of 50s. 360 butters.

It's crazy to see skateboard knowledge transferring to a snowboard. I def had an easier time coming from a skateboard too
For someone who’s never snowboarded, when you jump/ollie? Do you lift front foot up first like an Ollie or both feet up?🤔
Dude makes me so sad that I’m in Minnesota now and not back home in northern cali, a thrusday at 11am is a day I would’ve been there😭😭😞
riding with Skyler will help you progress so much faster than trying to board solo
Jeans under snow pants is wild
I think if you just strapped into your board on grass and just practiced doing 90 degree jumps and turns you would be a lot more confident! You have all the skill just gotta get over that mental block!
Use your normal skateboard approach for your snowboard learning curve. It's the same attitude. Ripping !
you could stream these snowboard sessions

Speed is key
Dude I wish I could do the opposite and back/front-slide on a skateboard as easy as I can on a snowboard 🤷🏻♂️
Did you detune your edges on both your snowboards?
Sick video man!
How easy do you think the opposite project would be? As a well rounded park rat guy snowboarder, do you think translating that to a skateboard with rails would be easier or harder than your project?
Learn to butter around. It will help you progress better.
Get yourself some knee pads. It’ll help with confidence and your knees will thank you in the long run! You’re also less likely to put your hands down to break your fall and damaging your wrist.
As a side note pads, helmets etc are far less taboo than they are in skateboarding.
siuuu
Why do americans never close the ski lift thingies?
nice video!! what is the name of that park?
try that snow jib, and see if it helps you with comfortability, by snowboardaddiction
You need to hit up Casey Willax and shred.
Bro you need to watch some professionals some of these dudes are insane!
I lol at 3:07
Just a question.. are you wearing jeans under your snow pants?
Bro you literally could've just pushed the truck instead of waiting for it to warm up 😂
I respect the car care tho lol
Bro is scared of board sliding the big rail at first but Ollie front boards a rail first try...
The more you go the better you’ll get. It’s become so unaffordable though.
Still a bit low of am angle
Sorry no offense but I definitely know you from somewhere but I can’t remember where from?
see you back at the top os absolutely fine with me. you would say it to a homie. i would be your homie
you should take those ear muffs out of the helmet
as scaryass it ge
when you snowboard try to go faster
Hay pig pen you ever been to one of them lesbian chat rooms
You should like ride up fakee tail slide pivot so you land regularly but do it slow like on a box . Flare it out get the bot all bent
sik content
Eyo garrett.. i think you should link up with the goat @caseywillax .. hes the realest snowboard vloger. U 2 could benefit from eachother
