Some reasons for the discrepancies in skill level on the attack half:
-Abyss is extremely postplant and attacker sided
-Defense at higher levels is a bit more rigid in its playstyle. (Think Killjoy and Sova playing ascent B defense. They almost always play there because the value is too good.) This is good and bad, because it means attack can predict how the defense plays meanwhile the opposite is harder, but it also means that the defense is optimizing its value.
-Trading fundamentals
