  • Getting up close with deer really does get the adrenaline pumping. We take the bow for a walk in this one and see if we can find a mature stag. We come across some goats as well.
We offer guided hunting trips in New Zealand for true free range wild animals ONLY!!!

This was the first video I have seen of yours 🙂.
Very well done I enjoyed it thanks.
As a hunting guide you will be protective of these kind of areas.
So, I'll just ask, Nth or Sth Island.
At 70 yrs of age, I've been shooting a long time, but relatively new to game hunting (four years).
I hunt solo, so fallow and goats tend to be what I go for as I can pack them out.
I have shot reds but only spikers and doe's, love to knock over a stag at some point.
I've subscribed and look forward to watching more Vids..........THANX.

Upper SI. With the population of deer in NZ currently kicking them under a bush should not be criticised anywhere recovery isn't simple. Something not personally practiced, but remote kills only lose a comfortable load. The rest is recycled, biology 101.
The sanctimonious rubbish spouted on "expert' & 'legend' etc TV, including by "ecologists" show clearly few clues about ecology & healthy vegetation, or probably deliberate deception. This Sunday will show unpalatable veg in sites entirely covered by lilies & alpine flowers in the 1980s. DoC jut nailed 3000 around the upper Landsborough landing sites, 300 a year probably kept them down in the mid "90's.. That opportunity for rec hunters to contribute has been shown utterly ineffective, Hunters (& GAC mouths) have been inept and uncooperative, & DoC hasn't the marbles to sort it.
This government is susceptible to dubious at best advice.
Those wanting free hunting access to any public land need to make submissions to keep free and unrestricted hunting (would advocate leaving those with genuine trophy potential by WARO, might as well have quality pests) on public land. Including cancelling all block systems. Free hunting is a great thing, & GAC wants to make you pay so their proven inept "experts" can tell you what to do & grift off hunters. Note the majority of hunters don't belong to these organisations, so aren't represented in the main lobbying input.
DoC is lost in space trying to be nice, and not effective at widespread ungulate control, and the GAC is probably the biggest threat to our ecology quality (their save the tahr population estimate has been killed several times over, they must be having big litters).

Leaving the rubbish there won't help improve the heads (and our deer have some unique area characteristics that it would be a pity to breed out with illegal introductions. Most that could be seen ok were culls, organising a WARO run before they can breed more mingers would make sense. Leaving the hind groups that had a good stag with them makes sense. The spikers & 2yo's will show where the better genes are too.
