30 hrs is quite normal. Train journeys in Indian Trains ( 2nd AC + 1st AC ) are very comfortable. Less noise and hygienic.
Sleeper are also good nowdays.
Especially LHB coaches.

You hardly get tired in Indian trains if you are travelling in AC coaches.I frequently go for 24 hours train journeys and get down absolutely fresh. 👍😎💯
I had travelled from Jammu Junction to Madurai in Tamil nadu in 2011. It was a school trip and it took 36 hours to reach there.

We used to travel from Delhi to Kerala in Kerala Express . Duration approx 45 hours. I remember I finshed Game of Thrones series in one of the travel 😀. Have given up on trains. Only flights now.

Betul is entry gate of Vidarbha from North side. It is marathi speaking district, wrongly included in MP. My ancestorial village is in Betul dist.near Multai (correct name.Mul tapi...Means origin of Tapi river)
One of my friend is from Betul , his surname is PATHADE (PAWAR) .
Once i asked him that are you a Marathi who lives in MP ( obviously because of his typical MARATHI SURNAME ) , then he clearly denied by replying " Mai MP ka hu MARATHI nahi hu bro " .
I don't know why he always denies to be called as Marathi , he literally doesn't consider himself a Marathi from MP STATE .
Our friend circle used to poke him by calling him *Marathi Manus* . 🤣
Hi Iman & Moazzam, If you have noticed the voice of the lady announcer on every station is same because railways have automated the announcement system. Fix phrases which are common for every station are stored separately and combined with variable phrases at the time of announcement. e.g. "May I have your attention Please, train no" is fix phrase and actual train no like "0112" is variable phrase. After combining both you will here the full announcement.

Hum Delhi se Kerala tak 45-48 hours ki train journey kiya karte they. Ek zamane mein Kerala se North East travel karte they toh poori travelling mein 4 days lag jate they.

Chennai mostly have horrible weather ,hot and humid 😓
Mujhe lagta hai South me saal ke 10 month garmi or humid weather rehta hai
Kuch -2 jagah or hill station ko chodh kar
But in Northern plains 4-5 month garmi or humid
Iman and Moazzam the first opportunity I got to travel in this train was in 1978. At that time it was second fastest train in India after Rajdhani express. It used to take 26 hrs only from Chennai to Delhi. At that time it used to have only 5 stops almost one in every state which it crossed. Its speed was reduced after many accidents occurred in 80s. Love from India.

i have travel atleast 48 hours journey Amritsar to Bhubaneswar multiple time. one time i travel with diffrent train which take 55-60 hours to reach Bhubaneswar.
I travelled from Hyderabad to Delhi. I boarded the train at 4pm at Secundrabad and reached Delhi at around 5pm next day. Didn't remember the exact timings now.
My favorite pass time in trains is to watch passing stations and landscapes, if I get a window seat otherwise I carry a novel, which I buy at station and finish it during the journey.
I never got bored by train journeys except for one time in childhood when Indian railway was not this developed. Due to some accident ahead, our train was stranded for more than 13 hours just after skipping a small station. It was summer time, no AC coaches in those days. We exhausted all the biscuits and snacks and water ( those days bottled water was not available carried own water bottles, milton was favourite brand), train had no pantry, cannot leave the train to get water and food from that small station because train can leave any time and there was no announcement system in those days. Even toilets started smelling because water tanks in the coaches got empty. That was my a horrible experience, it was my first and last such experience. After that I travelled a lot by trains but never got bored or frustrated by long journeys.
Indian railways have come a long way, I can even order my favourite food from my favorite restaurant while traveling.
In few years all the coaches will become AC and every train will have a pantry car with restuarant. Travelling by train will become more comfortable and fun.

Diamond crossing is a rail crossing where rail tracks from two different directions (for eg: North-South, East-West) cross each other. Where they meet, they form a closed rhombus kind of a shape, resembling that of a diamond and hence the name.

Yes Train journeys are very popular in India. In our childhood, we used to regularly travel between Kanpur and Delhi , kanpur-Howrah (Calcutta). Then later the trains took us to so many places from North to South to East , West. But then now its been ages since I travelled last by train.
Now flights are cheaper and convenient. The now we travel by road long distance. Recently I drove from Chennai to Visakhapatnam via Vijayawada around 800 Km. My longest road drive was from Chennai to Calcutta which was around 1700 Kms.
But our train network is best in the world.

Maine kiya hai tamilnadu express main travel from Bhopal to Chennai. When I was going to pondicherry. Chennai se bus jati hai east coast route to pondicherry. Bahut badhiya route left side sea aur tahndi tej hawa.
Last week i traveled Jammu to Hwh 48 Hours.. uske baad howrah se Tatanagar 3hours total 50+ hrs..

I am from Kerala living in mp throughout my childhood I have done 2.5 days train journey to Kerala to my ancestral home during summer vacations. Flights were. Not so many or cheap. South Indians living in north are used to this journey length😊
