This was a helpful video but more voice over, detailing the steps would be more helpful. Did you place the lexel on first then the window then more lexel?
Mary, yes, you saw that correctly but the second application of adhesive was more to keep the window seal in place. The first application of Lexel held the glass just fine.
I will assume the tempered safety glass was a little tougher to grind and that's why you went with a regular glass for temp replacement?? Obviously getting a professional to cut your glass is better since they restrengthen the edges after cutting. But all in all this was a great replacement that you did. Good solid video and some nice pointer notes on the grind wheel and the Magic Erasers "magic".. :)
Impressive work but this must have taken an eternity. Curious why you didn’t just purchase a piece of aluminum as a temp replacement until you could order the correct window with the tint already in the glass? Maybe a bit more in material cost but so much faster and secure. Enjoying your content 👍 so far.
NOTE: We did not use tempered glass here. We replaced this glass with tempered 'safety' glass before the RV was moved.
thats a mans man right there cut your own window 💪🏻
lol
I here because I have a broken rv glass myself. I'm gonna use lexan and tint the window and never worry about that window ever again.
Thank you for this video i am going to be doing the same to ours and now i know how to without taking the whole frame out
Nice work is this a hinged window, if so how did you rehinge .
Nice job, very informative and lots of patience in doing it.
It DID take patience. Thanks!
Great work! And also a great job on the video editing.
Hey thanks! Mike can literally Do It ALL (all the handyman projects that drop in our laps) Himself. Hilary just tries to document all of them :-)
Awesome. Had a gold ball go thru my shuttle bus side window. Glass shop wants $500 ridiculous! Gonna do this with plexi glass
Plexi should be quicker and easier. Good luck! Let us know how it turns out!
Great job 👍

Is it tempered?? Will it hold up pulling down the freeway?
No, this is not safety glass. It needs to be replaced before the vehicle gets mobile, but this RV will be stationary for many years.

It did take a loooong time. This happened at the very beginning of COVID shutdown. There was no indication the glass shops would reopen anytime soon.
Do you remember how thick this glass piece was?
Not 100% certain on that. It was the thickest available at the local home improvement store.
