sir -4+4 cut nhi hona chaiyey tha 49:57 , Aur sir agar +4 ko 8.2986 mei add kya hei toh -4 ko bhi toh -11.3552 mei add karo

How will we know in exam where to add and subtract a number and where not?

in the last just before taking antilog if we get a negative value(characteristic and mentissa) then we add and subtaract a number to get a positive mentissa.
For example in part (viii) see at this step
= 8.2986 - 11.3552
solving this we get -3.0566 the negative value( charachteristic -3 and mentissa -0.0566
to make mentissa positive we subtract and add 4 like this
= -4+4+8.2986-11.3552
=-4+12.2986-11.3552
= -4 +0.9434
se here characteristic is -4 an mentissa is positive 0.9434
I hope you understand now
