  • This lecture will inform parents on how to help their teen and adult children with a disorder of the corpus callosum to behave appropriately in their home, school, work, and community environments. Behavior problems, such as violent aggression, containment, difficult behavior in public, and other issues, will be addressed and suggestions provided to help you deal with aggressive behavior and circumvent physical harm. Key points include:
    - Identifying environmental stimuli that may be offensive your teen/adult child, and techniques to alleviate the resulting problem behavior.
    - Assessing your teen/adult child's level of behavior difficulty, and establishing appropriate goals and objectives designed to address problem behaviors.
    - Learning how to develop and implement techniques to reduce your teen/adult child's anxiety.
    - Developing schedules, social stories, behavior supports and work systems items.
    - How to protect yourself and others in a violent aggressive situation.
    - Resources for outside and legal support.
