- Aaron “Wheelz” Fotheringham is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints-commonly referred to as a Mormon or Latter-day Saint. He’s also an elite wheelchair motocross (WXMC) athlete and has performed some of the riskiest world record-setting wheelchair stunts. He was born with Spina Bifida and was in a wheelchair by the time he was 8 years old. That’s when he started to develop his wheelchair skills at a local skate park and he’s never looked back.
At 18, Aaron “Wheelz” found himself touring the world with elite action sports athletes. Those long tours took him away from his weekly Church meetings. In time, with all his trick progressions, he noticed some spiritual regression. After struggling with wondering if he’d ever feel happiness in the gospel again, Aaron turned to the Savior, Jesus Christ. Once he realized that Christ was always there to save him and that he just needed to turn to Him, Christ’s redeeming joy filled his life again.
Aaron “Wheelz” believes anyone can overcome challenges when one has faith, hope and the Atonement of Jesus Christ.

Been a big fan of Aaron's for a long time. Had no idea he was LDS til just a short time ago. He's truly inspirational and I've loved following his journey. What a great dude.
I was honored to be able to meet Aaron today at the skate park in Kennesaw Georgia. He's one of the nicest guys I've ever met.
I have been watching Aaron and the Nitro Circus crew for a lot of years. They always encouraged me to do the things I love and be who I am. They've been a huge example in my life, and especially Aaron. I didn't know he was a member of the church, but it didn't surprise me to find out. You're amazing brother. Thank you for being a light in this world. A light of Christ and a light of hope and courage. And thank you for sharing your story. This video has really helped me and my current circumstances.

Dude!! WHEELZ.. You’re a huge inspiration!! I got paralyzed from the chest down two years ago, and became #NeighborhoodFriendlyQuadriplegic! 😳 ♿️ 💯 🙏 🥰 ☦️ 🥳 I would absolutely love talk to you:!! I have thought about and did research for Murderball. I never even thought about or imagined heading up to the skate park and the X games!! I am an extremely, exquisitely, absurdly blessed quadriplegic! My injury level is C-5 ... but with C-6 tendencies.. thank God!! I can’t move my arms fairly well, but both of my hands are completely paralyzed!
And real quick, just a few of my personal testimonies and MIRACLES, that God has done for me! In the past two years since being paralyzed, I have died FOUR times! And no, it’s not a typo! Each death, my heart stopped for a minimum of three minutes! Last year alone in 2018, I had five suicide attempts! The third time I died, was due to me overdosing on painkillers! The fourth time I die, was from a life-threatening/fatal infection (Pseudomonas Aeruginosa) that is the name of the infection! And this particular infection a person can ONLY get/contract from/in/while being in a hospital… It’s from improper catheter care/NON sterile procedure. I originally got/contracted this infection on March 8, 2018, and seven months and five days later… My body went septic, and my heart stopped for over two hours! Every single time GOD Reached down with his mighty hand of healing, and literally brought me back to life from the dead!! This is the honest to God 100% truth! I am literally a living, breathing, and power wheelchair rolling MIRACLE! I am living, blessed, and Undeniable PROOF that God is real, and God is here with us!
