Some people get acclimatized quickly, while some people need time. And moreover you guys are descending down from Leh 11,500 feet to Kargil 8800 feet. So it's not much of a problem even if you are not resting. But if you are going to Khardungla, Nubra or Pangong lake you MUST have a rest day because you will be gaining a lot of altitude.
Yes. I was about to write this in my comment. Please don't discourage people from getting rest in Leh after flying from Mumbai or any low altitude place. Going to Kargil from Leh without resting is fine because you are losing altitude. But if one is travelling to Khardung La or Pangong or any place higher than Leh, it is always good to get acclimatized well instead of facing problems at higher altitudes. Also, it is not all in the mind! It affects your body. I have seen some of the fittest people succumb to altitude. So there is no connection between exercising in Mumbai and getting acclimatized in Leh. Exercise will definitely help you get acclimatized. But please don't disrespect and underrate altitude!!! And please don't spread wrong information ki exercise karo aur altitude ka kuch tension nahin!

Too Daring guys, Sachin you are really brave, only two ppl on road for so many kms. You really concerned about Kiran while she was crossing water, you are idea stay behind Kiran's bike to protect her in case of emergency. Best scenic beauty I felt was when you stopped bike when it was raining that greenery was too good.
Please tell us what to expect from micro adventure bikes like Himalayan or GS310s esp for those who are exploring new segments and also an opportunity area of specifically Himalayan that others have missed out. Just to start with our viewpoint For now we are quiet well in tune with standard, naked and sports bikes like B500, Duke390 and R3. We have only ever ridden multistrada in that segment. Though it fits well in that applications, we did not feel comfortable about its tank range and TCO.
GS310 we haven't ridden so can't comment but it has very small fuel tank hence it doesn't qualify for long distance touring IMO, regarding Himalayan we can say that it's an excellent bike for offroad and HImalayan terrains though it struggles on long straights, but if your main objective is offroad then Himalayan should be goood option. Wait for our Review video, it should come in a two weeks time.

Being an experienced Trekker, I can say that diamox will do nothing if you don't have the guts towards your target. Be rigid on it and acclimatize yourself. Different people, different resistance, so no one can say that he/she wont be a victim of AMS, HAPE, HACE. I spent nights inside tent over 20000ft many times, so as per my experience, When you suddenly reach a High altitude(14000+) you will not face the problem so much, but as you spent more time there, you will be catching the sickness more and more. every 2000ft changes the scenario dramatically.

Please do not take advice regarding your health from non professionals doctors, They might be professional riders but not doctors, each body reacts differently to different environment and doctors there too recommend to be on Diamox for at least 3 dose before arriving, it has no side-effects and its better to be safe then sorry. Its so irresponsible of these riders to suggest these type of things. They should stick to sharing experience in unknown territories rather than guiding wrong.
