Experiments are everything. I had this 802x course with Walter Lewin and till today (10 years later) I still show those videos to my students. I started learning physics again because it is a requirement before picking an engineering field for uni, and I had already kind of had my mind set on programming and computer sciences. But watching these videos and just getting to read a physics book on my own terms without someone trying to force equations down my throat, I've become in every sense of the word addicted to physics. I am spending anywhere between 6-8 hours a day now, if not doing assignments, atleast listening to your lectures, and it's not to pass some test or get some grade, but because it's just fun. Pretty cool how all it can take is one persons enthusiasm to spark a love for something. I'm going to choose a major in physics, and you're part of the reason why. Thanks.
These are great :D Getting more into electricity/electric engineering and I always hated when I was told to not worry about how things work on a deeper level and just learn Ohm's law (which is of course a valid law, but I always wanted to know where it comes from, and get a mental picture of how stuff works on a more fundamental level). And this really helps. As a side-benefit I even get to refresh my math a bit on the assignments
Indeed, your way of explanation and demonstration of physical stuff make us love Physics! Being an Indian High School student, I am going through these wonderful lectures to have a better clarity and strong grasp over the concepts. Doing tons and tons of numericals by just remembering the related formulae and direct results and not giving much attention towards why and how, is like eating kgs of edible stuff without acknowledging the nutritional value of those.
Prof. Sir Lewin, You are doing a great favour to the mankind. Believe it or not. Although your body may have grown older but your passion to teach is still as young as it seems in these videos! May God grant you a long life!! {I feel very lucky that we are able to reach you}

Yes I am the REAL Walter Lewin and I run this channel.
oh! that's such an honor to be directly contacting you via these comments. I started loving mechanics after watching your online courses and the same is happening here with electricity. Thank you so much!
You are welcome!
Profesor, I recently discovered that you have a TH-cam Channel that has all these lectures! You are so good on explaining physics, thank you so much for sharing all these to the new generations. I am an Electrical Engineer with a PHd and I am really enjoying how well you explained Electromagnetism! Thanks, thanks thanks!
I need u in my school !! I have a mental teacher in the school I am studying , he doesn't know to teach !! U teach wonderful sir !! Walter Lewin

your experiments help us a lot in understanding the basic concept of physics. thank you so much sir.
i am going through each of your lectures. i am afraid will this channel be deleted or removed before i finish all your lectures..
I expect to live perhaps another 5 years. In any case, after my death this channel will be continued by the famous Professor Lynn Cominsky who is my former graduate student.
thank you professor , i have no words to thank you!
:)
Lectures by Walter Lewin. They will make you ♥ Physics. ,
I hope after ur death
U can find out what's it like to be in a state of death 😊
I'm jealous but not that much
But I do wanna know what's it like to be "dead"
Lectures by Walter Lewin. They will make you ♥ Physics. I was shocked when I heard you saying death, wish you long life in this great job u have been doing.
I am a prospective physics student. You are inspiring me more than ever Walter Lewin! "For the love of physics"(Walter Lewin). Well said! Well explained physics! Physics is so interesting!
Wow, thank you!
Respected Sir,
