- I thought I had the High Limit Racing Rookie of the Year race pegged, but there was a curveball after yesterday's 90 at 9 was released. We discuss the new rule and offer up our thoughts on today's edition of the SprintCarUnlimited 90 at 9.

That rule makes sense to me. I think that the Outlaws should follow suit.
WOO will never make the rule because they are the only real national series. If you've raced a season in HL, you still a rookie.
This is a rule I can appreciate.
Great rule
Good move really. HL may have lost out on a Rookie or two because the team/driver thought there was no way they were going to win the award against Aaron.
It is a little odd to me that the rule came up during the time Aaron was moving to HL? Was this rule in effect in 2024? Also WOO statement on gambling is NOT that they are promoting gambling as HL is, but put parameters around the people involved in the WOO so there is no appearance of race fixing.
👍
The rules haven’t been posted? Just like how their charters are going to work and what the value would be to the team owners. Roth has a charter and they aren’t even going to field a car full time on the high limit tour. What’s that tell you????
The rules not being posted yet. Is not how you would think a national series would operate. But I do like this rule. Rookies honors should be for up coming and improving teams. That have not yet spent that much time on the road. In my opinion.
Does that mean Chris Windom doesn't get to run for Rookie of the Year with the Outlaws?
I find the reactions to gambling entertaining. USAC hasn't folded or had any issues, yet in 410's people act like the end is upon us.
I don't. Gambling is for degenerates and losers and opens the door for corruption.
No surprise here. I followed Brad Sweet closely and noticed that when Ruetzel was racing on the track, Sweet avoided him if he possibly could. As the best points racer of all time, Sweet knew that he needed to stay away from that unpredictable and dangerous driver if he wanted to finish high and maintain his accumulation of points.
As for the "new" rookie rule, someone is using their noodle. The WoO should follow suit.
WOO is the only real national series so they don't care.
Don't like the gambling aspect...
It's irrelevent high limit so nobody really cares.
Glad not fan of his
Ruetzel a Rookie is like dejavu all over again (credit: the late, great Yogi Berra) as I recall Dick Trickle moving to NASCAR as a 48 yr. young "Rookie" after winning hundreds of LM races.
As for gambling; should that come to pass w The WoO, The Premier Winged 410 Sprint Car Sanctioning Body in The World, it will mark the end of my "Fanship" (est. 1978) and my attention/attendance back to USAC, where it began in the late 50's.
Maybe they could do something about how maybe or lack there of...
With number of starts
Never liked it when someone could have won track championships.. multiple times..
Make a go for (insert series) and be a rookie...
With all the stats and tech coverage.. shouldnt be to hard to figure these things out...
Whats everyone's thought?
