Ultimate Tenkaichi could have been one of the BEST DBZ games if it just played like the classic arena fighters like Tenkaichi 1-3. It has some really cool graphics/shading, dope cinematics, and even character customization for the story mode. Makes me grateful for all the DBZ games we have today like Xenoverse and FighterZ. The features for the custom character for this game was everything. Being able to change the color of any outfit and accessories, having a grid type color chart was good for more diversity, hair spiking up when you transform, being able to adapt a fighting style from a mentor and changing your aura. This game really did great with the cac and the next Xenoverse game needs this level of customization again.
I remember playing this when I was so little and I enjoyed this game so much but as time went on I realized why this game was so hated. Amazing memories

This game had nice graphics for its time and I really liked the more realistic look, the environment destruction was amazing, beam clashes, move animations, music, battle damage actually doing a lot like how some characters armor break or how Goku loses his shirt like in the anime, and the quick time events in the story modes were really fun, and it was really cool how they came up with a completely original story for our character. Why did they have to make the combat gameplay a Rock Paper Scissors 😭
I remember in middle school looking forward to this game a lot, every trailer made it look awesome. The "planetary view' of the Ultimate attacks were especially a nice treat. Played this game a lot when it came out. My main gripe with it was that there was no SSJ4 Goku and Vegeta even tho SSJ4 Gogeta was in it. Aside from that tho, the story, cutscenes, and Hero Mode were great for its time. Also lowkey the combat is deeper than just rock paper scissors. The green triangle combos fill up your special gauge for you to use your Special and Ultimate attacks, and the purple square combos would decrease your opponent's special gauge. You also had to charge up your ki in order to block, dodge, and intercept Special/Ultimate attacks coming at you.
It was intricate! It's a cool concept and fun to try something new, but man it makes me just want to play Xenoverse after a few matches. I do think the game overall is sick.

I thought maybe I have to buy the clothes but then continued playing until I realized their are no more clothes to customize. Or even custom aura's . That day I exited the game and went to play wwe 2k22.

Would be sweet if we got a raging blast title that had cac characters! With aura customs, voice acting, moving tails, logo marks, but dbx2 moves and customizations. Not to mention more quick time events, similar to the boss battles of ultimate tenkaichi

I love this game. I still play it on my 360. I also have the Budokai hd collection, Raging Blast 1 and 2, Xenoverse 1 and 2 and DBZ Kakarot and Legacy of Goku 1 and 2.

It's really a shame that this doesn't play good, because there haven't been games that have tried this kind of visual style after that. The next DB game better improve, take notes from all these great artistic choices from all these different games instead of being generic. Kakarot, XV2, I took that personally XD when they didn't make a lot much innovative choices. We should make a list of all that works well in each DB game so that the devs have a sort of checklist, lol.

I was probably THE only Dragonball fan in the world to have dressed up in Dragonball cosplay to pick up that game on release day. That game has certain cool parts that i love about it but i really hated the Rock, Paper, Scissors mechanic which is that's game biggest flaw when it comes to the combat. That game is the only Dragonball game that am undefeated in when it comes to the online battles which am glad i retired from that game's online battles undefeated even though i only battled against one person who was on my PSN friends list. I would like to see you cover either Dragonball Z Sagas or Dragonball Z Budokai 1. Also, it would be interesting to see you do a discussion video of you listing certain Dragonball games that you've never got to play or will likely never get to play.
A really cool detail in the custom character mode; if you went super sayian, your blast supers like super energy wave, kamehameha, and so on, actually got bigger. Like there was a distinct differences in size between powered up version's of characters.
Gameplay-wise this game was a tier below mid, basically certified Rock-Paper-Scissors and QTE simulator BUT the character customisation was actually so good: - custom aura - custom battle style based on Mentor you completed - hair actually spiked up when transforming - tail ??? - custom color slider - body type changes aesthetic, fighting style, and stats
I still played this game till this day, bought it at launch day in 2011 I really enjoyed it to be honest, don’t mind the rock,paper,scissors cuz this game is almost perfect they got everything what every fans wanted in a game the transformation mechanic, the explosion environment, the graphics for a ps3 game, just get rid of the rock, papers,scissors, gameplay and add the budokai tenkaichi 3 controls, and more characters, this could’ve be one of the best dragon ball z games if they added in that feature but sadly nope they dropped the ball. I actually platinized this game. It was suposed to be the perfect dbz game, except for the random combat. But the cinematics blast e graphics was awesome, very immersive. They need to do another dragon ball like this, nothing like xenoverse, they need to use these mechanics with real combat, it was so satisfactory.

It looked (and still looks) great Then I played it Boy that illusion was shattered fast x_x The rock-paper-scissor mechanic being the main thing that a fight consists of is one of the dumbest fumbles in gaming history when Budokai 3 and Budokai Tenkaichu 3 were the best in their series and would've been a great template to work off of

It’s been so long since I’ve played this game like it was okay I mean the whole quick time events I rage so much every time I mess up on a quick time event on this game especially the mashing button which hurts so much.
This game will be a standout because of two things, 1, it was the first game that let us create our own character in the DBZ universe 2, it had an original story instead of just making us go through the dragon ball z story again However, the gameplay is awful. That's something I wish they did in Xenoverse 2 like with the Bardock hair and it comes with the little red bandana and you could make Goku Jr or Bardock either one and another thing that wild hair that's kinda like a Kid Raditz or something or like that weird kid saiyan form Dragon Ball Heroes that looked like he was from death note had the feathers on his shoulders and everything but yeah you could have a lot of hair styles that I wish they would add to Xenoverse 2 but no they won't mabey for Xenoverse 3 if we ever get it in the year 5060

Also speaking of XenoVerse, what's the main difference between 1 and 2? Like I've only touched XenoVerse 1 cuz I like to play games in order but does it really matter?
Xenoverse 2 is 1 MILLION times better 😂 After you play X2 you won’t be able to look at Xenoverse 1 the same. You’ll wonder why they made that shit and were like “let’s release this to the public”

The rock-paper-scissor mechanic being the main thing that a fight consists of is one of the dumbest fumbles in gaming history when Budokai 3 and Budokai Tenkaichu 3 were the best in their series and would've been a great template to work off of
I miss playing that game so badly! I still have my xbox 360 version physical copy and an xbox 360, but the downside is that my xbox 360 no longer reads discs! D:

This game will be a standout because of two things,
1, it was the first game that let us create our own character in the DBZ universe
2, it had an original story instead of just making us go through the dragon ball z story again
However, the gameplay is awful. It's just SLOW(get it cause this is Slow's video) rock, paper, scissors.

if they remove rock paper scissor thing. this game would be the best Dragonball game. the camera angle is best here and the lighting effects. that actually make us see the combat.
