The best I could do was to list my favourites instead...like this one. I guess one that jumps to mind immediately though is Fool In The Rain played by John Bonham (it also appears in my book), this has to be in the top 10 but that's as much as I'm daring to list. The fact the open high hat with the bass is rare is one reason you have a video about it and everyone knows it. I usually add a little more hi hat action near that bass drum flurry to funk it up

I DID IT ...!!!! THANKS,, i jUst realised why it kept feeling WRONG no matter how hard I tried!!!! I was playing it WRONG.. That HAT strike is BEFORE the KICK, then the next TWO HATS are totally WITH THE KICKS... So the first HAT is a CUE for the ODD Kick ... then the next two are together!!!! YAY!
This beat SOUNDS really complicated... Then it LOOKS way too simple.. Then it becomes harder to play than you ever thought.. BUT, you have broken it into REALLY useful little lessons that I imagine will be very useful in their own right. I had the first of the 3 BASS drums as a Snare .. which I learned to play really well.. but I thought it was sounding WRONG.. and I was right, as you showed it is a tricky 3 in a row quick Bass Kicks.. (in my defense, my "Bass" drum and "Snare" sound about the same... what with them not being actual "DRUMS".... Still I made an original (well I know it isn't) beat all by myself.... however, I now have to UNLEARN it when I want to play this.. because I keep AUTO playing it the first incorrect way by default.. I LOVE LEARNING, it is amazing... and infuriating.... but amazing... If you had told me I would even remotely be able to play drums a month ago.. I would have hit you with my BASS GUITAR and told you to stop Sniffing whatever it was you are SNIFFING... Lockdown Hobbies!! This is what happens when the library is shut and you are out of books for 3 months,.
I imagine if you go to his website or facebook, he will have a list of all his bits and probably a link to purchase them.... Then again, this video might be about 10 years old.. so.. u may be able to pick up a used set cheap! too
I’ve been trying to get this freaking beat down for a month and I can’t get it. I can play the entire song other than this. I cannot get the notes on the kick drum, it’s really discouraging. Can anybody help?
If your drum room was next to your neighbors wall, then they probably would still hear the pedals and the pads being struck. It depends on the building though.
@@DrumsTheWord Mine would complain even if I wasn't playing them. All I would need is the packaging in my bin and they would have the Police, Navy, Weights & Measures and the Women's Institute all with warrants...

Probably a boring comment but would your kit be audible to neighbours in a Terraced house or flat?
