- This video shows some of the activities involved in putting up our first crop of alfalfa, 2020.
First, we cut the alfalfa with a CaseIH WD2303 windrower/mower. Afterwords, it is left for a few days to dry. Once it's dried sufficiently, we then rake it with a Hesston V-Rake, pulled by a John Deere 4230. After it is raked, we let it dry out a few more days before baling. Baling was done with the John Deere 4640 PowerShift pulling a Hesston 4790 large-square baler.
After the hay is baled, we haul it into the sheds. The hauling is done with two loader tractors, a John Deere 4020 PowerShift Diesel, and a John Deere 3020 Diesel. The "haulers" are a Ford F30 with IronBull goose-neck trailer, as well as a John Deere 5020 pulling two old truck wagons (they were originally made out of truck frames). - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ
Love all that old, *reliable* iron!
Beautiful country too.
Thanks for taking the time to video this.
I like how the 4640 grunts every compression stroke of the baler.
i LOVE that 5020! what a *BRUTE* !!
Thanks! It’s been a fun machine :)
Beautifully done.
Beautiful landscape.
so beautiful and inspiringly realistic.
Bro not joking this is really nice best farm setup I've ever seen and might be my favorite setup ever I love John Deere tractors especially the old ones I love you man ❤❤❤😁😁👍👍👍👌👌👌💪💪💪💪💪💪❤❤❤
Why thank you for that kind comment! I'm glad you enjoy the video! :)
Enjoyed I loved it thank you so much for posting it I am looking forward to watching more videos thank you so much
Grampa was known for heavy bales. I cut the alfalfa and hauled it with town friends for 4 cents a bale. I think I'll produce alfalfa hay for a career when I get to heaven.
Nice hay
That is awesome sound as baler plunger goes on compression stroke then back off. Makes 4640 almost have a steam engine under load sound. Very very nice 5020!!!!!!!!!
That’s a damn nice old 5020!! We’ve got a 5020 on our farm! She’s the main farm tractor!
Spent thousands of hours running a 5020 growing up. Ours had a cab, think it just kept the dust and heat in though 😄 great heavy tractor all the same
I see a 4230 or a 4430 with a big rake, I wish I had run a rake that big back in the day. That's a nice running late model console 4020 too.
That is some pretty country their, but you probably can't grow corn lol. Nice 6.0 ford too
Unfortunately, TH-cam can not communicate the smell of fresh hay! Does this hay get sold/fed locally or shipped abroad? The hay and tractors match up well, thanks for posting!
Where are you located? Thank you!
How many cuts do you guys average a year?
Where is your farm located at? Dryland farming, or irrigation?
I saw a centre pivot. I think it's irrigated 🤔
Where is this beautiful place? Montana?
Close--Wyoming/Idaho border :)
what state are you in? Utah?
Hangi eyalet ??
Boy that Case mower does a crappy job of mowing.
