Pueblo of Acoma: Substance Abuse and Suicide Prevention Project

The IHS Substance Abuse and Suicide Prevention grant program has allowed federal, tribal, and urban Indian organization programs to design and implement programs specific to the needs of their communities to address substance use. In these spotlight videos, tribes volunteered to share the culturally-appropriate approaches and best practices being used in their communities. Each video highlights the unique work being done in this field to educate others about practice- and evidence-based prevention and treatment approaches, the impact of the current work, and promotion of the community-driven responses, resilience factors, and positive outcomes of the projects.
