Your a godsent, never have I seen a video so detailed in a how to with these type of projects. This will help me immensely in my NB2 1.8L that I'm having to fix an oil pan leak on. Rock on man!
Really appreciate the detail on this series of videos. Swapping the oil pan this weekend and this has been shper helpful! From torque specs, to torque sequences and best practices, you covered it all. Seriously, thank you!
Omg I love you for making these videos! My nb miata has the same seal problems and I had to remove the subframe to get to mine but your videos really helped me figure out my car
Glad to hear they helped you! I still have more footage to upload of all the work I did, however it seems like they are not very popular so they have fallen on my priorities list
The plate that houses the front crank seal. I guess it covers the oil pump. Did you take that off as well? My gasket kit came with the gasket for that plate but haven’t seen anything saying anyone has taken that plate off. I’ll be doing my oil pan this week. I already did all the other gaskets including VVT seals. Thanks
I did not remove that, I have some other videos up on my channel of this as well. Have not watched them on a while to remember which one I talked about the front crank seal though
It was tricky, I put a little paper towel ball down the hole, and used a razor blade very carefully to get the large chunks off, then just brake cleaner and small pieces of blue non scratch scotch brite pads. Then stick a shop vac over it when done and suck up all the debris and the paper towel ball
@@NAUS2K Thanks, I just got it all buttoned up! Now I am looking at those gaps at the rear where the locating pins go in; wondering if it's fully seated or not... The MBSP seems to make the gap pretty significant at the rear of the motor is my thought.

Glad these videos have been helpful! They haven’t got the love I thought they would though
Awesome series of videos! I'm going to save this to reference when I reseal my half-moon seals in a couple of weeks
They don’t get much love, but I’m glad sometimes they do!

Cheers for these videos. What did you use to remove the old paper gasket material from the pickup tube?
