    The Rhodes Scholarship is often considered to be one of the world's most prestigious scholarships, giving a small group of driven students the post-graduate opportunity to study at the University of Oxford. The application process varies throughout the world, but listen to Jamie's experience applying and receiving the scholarship from New Zealand (one of only three students to receive it from New Zealand in 2017!)

      That was rude of me. However, a Bachelor's degree is necessary. I'd pursue some kind of degree in language arts, writing, journalism, English literature ect... Get straight A's because it's very competitive and the A's are almost the easy part. Second you have to do some kind of extra curricular activity or activities that show you are multi dimensional and able to handle a large workload. If that activity is charitable, ie you're not the only one benefiting from the work, all the better. Sports used to be a big deal to them especially individual ones, ie tennis, golf, boxing ect..but these days they hold many things just as high. I know this because I was encouraged to apply but declined to do so after researching the backgrounds of previous recipients. I never thought about it until after I got the good grades and by then it was too late to suddenly start volunteering all over the place. I smoked pot through college so other than straight A,s and a dorm Madden tournament 2nd place and ping pong championship trophy, I had little to brag about what I did with my free time. Good luck and remember that while Rhodes is well known it's not the only program out there...
