    I've learned so much from this video since returning to fishing after a 33 year break. I primarily use loaded wagglers with rubber stops either side, makes setting your depth a breeze, then just add adjusting shot to suit once plumbed. Had some really nice fish lately too! 🎣🐟

    I lost my dad April this year which was a real blow to me as I was his carer in his latter years. He was an ex navy man an would tell story's of fishing an ofcourse other exploits, now I no longer have him to care for him I have time on my hands, witch fishing an your show fills .
    So a big thank you an ceap them coming , cheers. AG Wiltshire.

    Those float adaptors have been a game changer for me, if you can get the same float in orange, black and yellow tips you can change them without re-shoting as the light conditions change. I've been amazed how well black works and very rarely use the traditional orange now as I find it very hard on my eyes in a long session!

There are so many different rods and reels available I wondered if you would comment on the suitability of a Daiwa Ninja 2000 LT reel (it is listed as a reel for lures) for float fishing lakes/reservoirs and rivers? Are rods from Decathlon a good starting point for a newbie? Thanks for any advice

    • @TAFishing

      Just above the bottom of the river bed if floatfishing. You are trying to get the bait travelling along as though it was being washed down by the current.

    Hi Graeme, I was an angler many years ago in the U.K. I went over to hunting in New Zealand and I am now getting too old for the hunting so I'm going back to fishing again. Can you tell me how to make ground bait. I know I had sausage rusk and bran but have forgotten the rest of ingredients. Keep the shows coming, learning a lot. I have been known to catch a few 20lb salmon out of the Otago harbour though.

    • @TAFishing
      @TAFishing  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      We should have a "How to make groundbait" film up in the playlist,but honestly if you stick to basic agricultural animal feeds you can make up your own mixes. Can be quite fun when you get fish on something you have made up yourself.

    Hi there as a retired gardener there,s a tip that might give you another small job. To cover the pond liner round the edges when the water level goes down build a retaining dry stone wall, bricks rounded rocks anything that does,nt float will do keep it below the low water mark then back fill to the edge with a sloping gravel beach, visible pond liner was a pet hate this solves the problem and if you pick up enough stones it,s FREE.

    When I was child I went fishing with my parents, usually at a pay lake or on a river bank. My mother loved to fish. I always used what we called a "bobber" on the line. The bobber was a plastic ball that could be tied to the line and would float along on the top of the water. When a fish hit the line, the bobber would go under and you knew to set the hook and bring him in. I haven't been fishing in ages. I may just start again this summer. :)

    Graeme I went coarse fishing from the age of 8 by 67 you would think I would at least know most of the basics but I gained another tip that was so simple I could kick myself for not working it out for myself. This was the way you use tubing so that you can change your float without having to set up from scratch. So simple, I must be the Smith of Buckinghamshire not to have figured that out for myself! I think its great you put up these videos for beginners it will make their experience so much more enjoyable. How are your runners going?

      You can fish Waggler on a river but only very slow moving flows.A fast river will mean you cannot "hold back" the float like you can say an Avon bodied stick float as it would give a sharp dip every time you mend the line. You need a float that is fixed both top and bottom for river floatfishing.
