Clearing the dust is very important for a cooler and cleaner cut.. What ever dust is left behind gets re-cut, binds against the sides of the blade, and that takes away from the piece being milled. dust also contains pitch which can build up and cause a lot of problems.

Hi Emerald and Jade it looks like all your hard work is growing your subscriber numbers. And I hope that translates to more business for the log yard. And don't forget when you reference something from a previous video you can add a link to it in the top right corner with an information ! mark. This will get new viewers watching more of your content.🙂🧡🧡🌻🌻

Whenever I buy blades for my bandsaw I am buying an all-purpose and the cheapest I can find. I like a lot of woodworkers will finish my cuts by sanding eventually so the cut quality unlike a mill isn't that important. One thing is certain #woodmiser should be supplying you wish a certain number of all of their blades for simply doing a video like this and raising awareness of their mills. Thanks again Emerald for another interesting video and thanks to Jade for the camera work

Great job with this blade video. Great idea. Probably one of the only things you have not done a video on 'til now. If I didn't know any better I'd think you were reading all that off a teleprompter!! I can't imagine how you remembered all that. Did you have to spend a lot of time studying and memorizing all that? WOW! Late posting too, but thanks for all your and Jades hard work with them. We appreciate it. Now get some sleep. I'm sure the BOSS MAN and BOSS LADY have a busy day for you two tomorrow! Deeper guilitt will cut faster in wider boards as it will not dust load as much and stop cutting as the tooth is going through the cut .
Another Y tube guy that has a very big home made band mill that saws very big logs up to 6 feet dia uses some kind of special blades that cut right through nails all the time and keep right on cutting ok .
He cuts a lot of nice table tops from some very ugly logs .
Some good information about the blades .
Keep the saw dust flying .

I remember Matt Cremona saying he likes the bi-metal blade because he hits nails a lot and accidentally cut off one of his metal dogs while slabbing and the blade was still good. Not sure of the brand. Of course he doesn't do nearly the volume you guys do.

The price for your blades is cheaper for your mill than my personal Delta 13" bandsaw. I usually pay around $20. - $30+ for a good blade. That's for a 3/4" 3 hook tooth per inch. Thanks for the videos. You all do a great job.

Harden tips/busted teeth. Being a machinist for 30+ years. Yeap! That is highly possible results. Wood has spots (aka knots) that can be surprisingly hard as steel. Blackjack oak dead limbs for one. Dull a chain fast on a chainsaw.

Hi, make sure your guide clearance is set just right for the bi metallic or harder blades. The teeth don't bend well , they will catch your guide blocks . But bi metallic blades will hold up better than the other blades all day long .

Contact manufacturer about the one-day blade issue. They should be able to work with you on making sure you get the full expected lifetime of the blade. Sometimes it is proper adjustment. Sometimes suitable lubrication. Chances are, in your case, it was a defective blade.

Nice job on describing blade differences, Em. The compound metal blade would seem cost effective if the number of cuts to dollar exceed the standard blade. But that all depends on the wood density. Thanks to Gramp's blade sharpening skills, the cost are manageable as is his brewing of a really good cup of java.
