I actually just discovered this video by searching "august climbing" 'cause I was wondering why you weren't showing up in my feed. Welcome back, dude!🙂
what a well combined compilation of climbing news, thank you :D i think both Aiden's and Will's approaches to climbing are really inspiring, and it is always cool to see the two of them getting on the same boulders, especially now so close to their homes! as for the OQS, there are so many cool people to root for haha :D however, i really hope that Stasa Gejo can make a comeback! she absolutely deserves to go to the olympics, she has been on top of the sport for so long, and it would be so sad if she didn't manage to qualify just because of one bad day! and of course another heartbreak is going to be Miho Nonaka and Futaba Ito, directly competing against each other for the final Japanese spot! They are really good friends, so it must put them both in a difficult position, and it is exactly like it has been for the first olympics! and for the men's, i am happy for everyone who makes it, especially Paul Jenft, a competition climber so tall is unheard of, and he is really inspiring by how he uses his body! thanks again for the video, see you in the next one :D
Thanks, Thomas! I'm glad you enjoyed it 🙂 Yeah, it's interesting to see their different styles even when it comes to how (and how much) they share about a boulder when they're projecting it... or how much time they take for reflection before announcing it. It seems that Aidan and Will are both taking the approach that works best for them, and I can respect that! Great observations on the comp side too. Yes, that's heartbreaking to have two amazing competitors vying for the same spot to represent their country. The U.S. has a similar situation to Japan in this regard... there is only one remaining spot for U.S. women, but 4 competitors! Anastasia Sanders was the next closest competitor to Brooke... placing 14th and securing 27 points. So, let's see what happens in Budapest... as is the nature of competitions, we will likely see heartbreak and triumph all at the same time! Talk to you again soon 👍🏻👍🏻
Hi, Zane! Thank you, I appreciate that. I'll be testing out some new setups in the coming months here, so it's great to have feedback on the background and other visual components 👍🏻👍🏻
Hi, Mark… thank you! I do try my best to provide credit and applicable links in the description to original sources. My desire is to help bring attention to newsworthy climbs and add commentary/context… but never to rip someone else’s content, re-upload with no added value, and pretend it’s my own (not cool 😆) I appreciate your comment!!
Would be nice if all these top boulderers would put some 9As in a standardized board so that they all can try and repeat... I assume travelling to remote places makes repetitions even more rare
Now, there's a good idea! Or how about we create a new standardized board called the "9ABoard". It only has 9A replicas, but the twist is, the angle can change to slab so us ordinary folk can have a chance to send them 😉 All kidding aside, a replica of Spots of Time would be interesting to see... it looks replicable in a similar fashion to Burden, though the angles may not be consistent from the ground to the top. And you're right, location and accessibility must play a big role in some problems going unrepeated. I appreciate your comment 👍🏻👍🏻
Excellent recap, but it feels a little wrong for the title/thumbnail of the video to focus on Will simply spending a session trying the boulder, and not refer to Aidan's incredible achievement in putting up the first ascent.
Hi, James! That's a fair point... I did consider adding Aidan's name to the title but was also trying to keep the title from getting too long. I spoke more extensively about Aidan's first ascents of Spots of Time and The Midnight Project in this episode in April... th-cam.com/video/FhkZvlOaP20/w-d-xo.htmlsi=CcRgDGHGbq8MPpzR The more recent news then seemed to be about Will Bosi beginning to project it. It's always a bit tricky to decide what to feature up front. I appreciate your feedback though... please keep it coming 👍🏻👍🏻
@@ElGuapoDeSantoPoco ah yeah I see what you’re saying now. It is a bit strange the way I worded it. I guess it’s some context for those less familiar with climbing… and a keyword for the algorithm… that’s my theory anyway 😆 Thanks for the clarification 👍🏻👍🏻
Glad to see you back
Thanks, Shrey! That means a lot to me 😊 And you win the award for the fastest commenter 👍🏻👍🏻
Super video August, thank you for the updates!
You are very welcome! Thanks so much for watching... and I hope you are doing well 👍🏻👍🏻

So many 9As now I can't keep up 😅
I know, right?! And you know what that means... 9A+ can't be far behind 😉 Thanks for your comment, Theo! 👍🏻👍🏻
Strange title
If you get the chance, I'd love to know what you find strange about it 😁 At any rate, the feedback is always welcomed 👍🏻👍🏻
@@augustclimbing will bosi is projecting a new V...... , don't get the " climbing's" reference.... what else would he be projecting 🤷♂️

title was probably the least interesting news of the whole video but i guess the name gets more views
@@augustclimbing great content btw, don't take my remark too seriously.
