It's not hard. They're just aweful. It's actually pretty easy, even if you go in solo. Just take things seriously, pick the most competitive, skill-dependent heroes like Genji or Widowmaker(as long as you're good with them), not just the ones you find fun like D.va or Winston, and play conservatively.

Dan Trast Watch a pro widowmaker. That's all I'm going to say. All characters in Overwatch have a low skill floor, but Widowmaker and Genji have an OBSCENELY high skill ceiling. They are BY FAR the best characters in the game when mastered and have no counter, allowing them to wipe teams with ease once you get really good.
David Bruder They actually do have counters. Widowmaker and genji aren't the only heroes that are mastered. Many other character can be good too, maybe even better.if you want a list ill give one.

I've played some matches, but i don't feel like I'm that good. Any tips for a semi-beginner? Play-style ideas?
I try to get to like a character from each section or style then use them and get to know them so then I can help the team no matter what they need from me weather it's offense, defense, tank, or support

Torbjorn/bastion is good character to play, if you played Engineer in TF2 Torbjorn is for you

I find it hard to tell if I'm doing good or not. I tend to get way more medals as Torbjorn or symmetra placing turrent than I do playing heroes that actually shoot. IDK if that means turrent heroes typically do more, or if i suck at shooting.
Is there some secret to sniping? I see some people get like headshots every two seconds, but I can't hit a barrel from a meter away. Is it just practice?
Are there any other general tips? I find my team losing every time on offense, because turrets and snipers and bastion are just all too hard to get over. What is one supposed to do?
+BlackwingKakashi my tip would be to just watch videos on how to counter certain heroes if you are struggling to do that. Also the best thing to do is just practise and accuracy will come over time. Try to find a group to play with if you can and learn from each other's strengths.

David Bruder No he doesn't. Just sit in the back and act like artillery and you get kills.
If you know how to aim his granade launcher (which takes little practice to learn) then he is a monster pain in the ass to deal with. I hate him more than Mei or Bastion combined.

Play Cops and Robbers
•One player are soldier 76 as cops
•And one team of two are tracer as robbers
•Only one person on the robbing side can shoot the cops and tracer and only dash once no rewind
•Cops can use all of he's abilities
•Oh and the robber have to attack and cops defend
• robbers have one or two I don't care lives each and try's to get to the other side of the map without dying twice
• Cop as one life and as to stop them

This game is really getting me in a bad fucking mood, so much so I might get rid of it and never play it again. I am so sick of incompetent teams. I can't find a consistent experienced team, I keep on finding useless bastard genjis who do literally nothing but die, bad Mccrees and stupid Anas. I really hate how this is a team game yet no one actually wants to play as a team
The Honest Commentator I know your pain. I used to do terribly in comp. Once I realized that most of the time, it was me that was bad and not my team. I started playing Zarya and Roadhog and supports, using comms for call outs and being nice to me team. I was good enough to carry games, even with bad teams. I'm now in platinum, and it's all because I realized my own faults and limits

Prestige in OW just means you have no life and played way too much, your only indication of skill is the competitive rank.

michael d Maybe because you have good communication and stuff with your team, and you might actually be unlucky. That or your teammates are really carrying you so the game thinks you're good so it stacks you up against better players than you.
I don't actually know any of these could be what the situations like. I know I'm currently 5-1 in my placement matches and I've stomped like 3 I think. I played well, my team overall played well and we were positive to eachother in most games, suggested heroes etc.

Devil rancher challenge: (overwatch) 1 reaper (The rancher) 4 roadhogs (the animals) health decreased by 50%, but damage increased by 200% No ability recharge roadhogs can only Melle and hook and is aloud to use vestify, but the catch is that the Rancher can only teleport to move and can use invulribility twice a match ONLY to escape a hook best out of three, good luck

-No repeated flashbang spam-kills (fashing til death)
I play this alot and its so fun. The balancing is nice with the one shot headshot and two hit kills with reinheart
What is the point of 200% healing if neither can heal?

quickplay isnt really fun for me because the match last like 5 min id rather play competitive where matches can get very intense on sudden death and overtime.
I'm a reasonable man who leads a reasonable life, I see a video with competitive play on the title I click the video.
