VERIFY: US citizens will not need a visa to travel to most of Europe in 2024

Beginning in 2024, U.S. citizens will have to fill out an online travel authorization called ETIAS to enter most of Europe. But this is far simpler than a visa.

No.
1) it's not a visa but a visa waiver.
2) Once you enter the Schengen zone of which France and Italy are part this visa waiver is valid for the whole Schengen zone.
