@@bac1308I watch Eric O. From south main auto here on TH-cam and he has some costumers who just want to put the engine light out for the sticker. I believe that there are some shops in the usa which shouldn't be open or at least the people who does the inspection should sit in jail
The part I like is where they say "Customer declined repairs". You KNOW it's either going to the junk yard or wind up on blocks in their front yard. 😂😂😂
I had a mechanic tell me that I "absolutely had to have some repairs done or [my] car would collapse on the road." It was nearly a complete overhaul of everything holding the tires on. At the time I did decline repairs mostly due to the costs and there was no noises or anything giving a cause for concern. It was about 4-5 years before I got around to it while the entire time it was in the back of my mind since I drove the car every day. The (different) mechanic I took it to for the job said that the problems were never as bad as the first shop said and not even half of the work I was told about would actually need to be done. But these people that have obviously falling apart vehicles are next level and I can only imagine where they ended up.
I have to admit I got caught by the ‘wiper covers’ too. 40+ years driving and I never bought wipers with a cover. Took me a while to figure it out. But I did not have to go to my mechanic to solve it!

One of my neighbor's wife bedazzled her Mercedes. When he saw it, he tried to explain to her the dangers of the bedazzle on the steering wheel. She thought he was just being an ass. Then he showed her some videos of people that had air bags go off and the damage to their faces from the bedazzles. She didn't waste time removing the bedazzles! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
What ever happened to DOT Inspections? When I brought my truck in from NM to SoCal, it wasn't inspected by DOT. when I got my new CA DL, they checked it to see if all the exterior lights worked. Rust. A huge problem in these northern States. It's why I go through all the efforts to spray used oil and fluid film my cars every year before Winter. My '92 Dodge Shadow has seen over 30 years of Dee-Troit Winters, snow and road salt storms, almost no major rust, but it is starting to lose the battle nonetheless in some places.
Doesn’t the mechanic reserve the right to not allow a car to be on the road if there are legitimate safety concerns? Like disintegrating brakes, or a rotting frame?
Nope, only in states that have road worthiness inspections (which is very few). Trying to keep a customer from taking their car as long as their bill is paid is actually illegal and the shop/mechanic could face legal trouble for that, even if the car is a death trap.
12:27 They make grease injector needles to pierce the boot and add grease INSIDE the boot. I'm not sure how good of an idea that is or if the grease stays inside.
