Giant Sea Bass - Stereolepis gigas

Juvenile 'giant' black sea bass spotted about 30ft down in the kelp over rocky reef near San Onofre, California. ~63F - June 2015.
This now protected species has been overfished in California. They have been known to grow to over 500 pounds and over 7ft long.
