I just finished my first comp card and I'm 40! I cut hair for work and this guy wanted to take some photos so I technically did my first paid job TODAY! Thank you so much for this video!
I'm just about to get my digitals taken and needed some guidance & this took my confidence to another level in not only taking photos but making a comp card. You're Amazing, thank you so much !
It’s a game changer for sure, so easy and I’ve made a template for my students inside of Model Boss Academy so all you have to do is plug in your photos and info. Link is in the description ☺️
Definitely subscribed to your channel. Great useful information. I’ve had model boot camps and they never gave this in depth information. Thank you very much ! I think my only thing with digitals that I’m in my head as a black woman about if I should wear my natural hair/ braids/ wigs etc. in my digitals
Thank you for subscribing! I’m glad you’re finding all the information helpful 😁 and trust me I completely get the hair situation. Anytime I have a new hairstyle. I like to take pictures to update my portfolio just so I have versatility in my book and my agency can share different looks with the clients, but for digitals I will say that taking pictures with your natural hair is always going to be best. Whether you wear straight or curly 😉
Heyy...I m just a newbie to this world..I have a doubt, are we taking digitals so that when we go for open call we will show them these pictures? And also😅 what exactly I need for open call, I mean portfolio or comp card, or both?? Btw loveeeedddddd your video 😊😍😍
Thanks for watching love! If you don’t have a portfolio then showing your digitalis would be good to have at your open call. And if you hand them a comp card with those pictures, they’ll have something to reference and remember you once you leave 😊
Hey there! Thanks for watching 😁 I have a few videos taking about what to wear for digital/castings & how to pose. Check out the Getting Started | Modeling Basics playlist on my page.
@@thatjamericankidd6637 blue or black jeans are standard otherwise you can do a plain two piece bikini. The most important is that it shows your body well 😊
Hey hey, thanks for watching! I suggest a comp card of your digitals if you don’t have a portfolio yet or if your photos are old and you have changed how you look, but if you have professional photos you can add them in just use the best photos to fit whatever you are applying for (fitness casting, beauty brand, commercial, etc) Hope this helps ☺️
This was brilliant thank you! My bf is a photographer and I have access to a photo studio so got my headshots done in there. I’ve applied to 30 agencies with them with no luck, could this be because they were studio headshots?
Hey babe! Thanks for watching 😄 you’re lucky you have access to a photographer & studio make sure you’re putting them to use! As for the submissions it depends on how they were shot. Agencies don’t want digitals to be too edited or retouched. Makes sure your pictures capture you as natural as possible.
MODEL KEE thank you for replying ❤️ no editing or retouching so my real skin texture can be seen through them. Maybe they assumed it would be edited though if it’s studio :/
ZZZ keep them down if you like them like that babe ☺️ only time I would say to try a different style like pinned back is if you’re doing beauty work so your face is clear & visible
Would it be okay to wear a braid out for the digitals? Or maybe a straight wig? I also see lots of models wearing heels in their digitals. Is that another requirement?
Hey babe! Digitals are meant to show you as you currently are so if you don’t plan on wearing that braid out or wig to your castings then don’t take your pictures with that hairstyle. As for the heels, you’re going to be in them a lot as a model and your potential agency wants to see that you are comfortable wearing them.
MODEL KEE okay thank you so much! I guess I need to learn how to walk in heels now 😅 Oh and are hairstylists in your hair often? I have 4c hair and it takes some time to do, so I’m afraid of ppl being in my head🙃
It depends on the job & want the client wants but if you have a specific way you wear your hair just let them know. It’s your head at the end of the day lol

I have 2 shows in October & the guy Im doing them for says just wear white shirts & make the photos black & white cause that's what agencies want. is this true??
Unless your with an agency and they take your digitals in house and specifically edit them to be black and white then no you shouldn’t make your own pictures B&W. They want to see you as natural as possible, so in color and the simple 5 shots I mentioned will do
MODEL KEE thanks for the reply. I’m meeting with him next week to discuss this further so I know exactly what type of comp cards he wants to have to market myself to agencies. You’re gorgeous by the way!
Hey love, do you mean in physical form or digital? If it’s digital I would just attach in an email or send a Dropbox link. If it’s physical you’ll have to recreate it or scan it to make it digital, which there are a few apps you can use for that ☺️

Well heck now I want to cut my hair lol… you look stunning!
Thank you 🥰

Can you wear light makeup or no makeup at all ?
Mariah Janaé you can do no makeup, but I always like to do a little mascara and my brows so it still looks natural
If I have bangs should I pin them back or can I have them down? They kinda add to my personality
ZZZ keep them down if you like them like that babe ☺️ only time I would say to try a different style like pinned back is if you’re doing beauty work so your face is clear & visible

Wow I wish I would of found this first before spending over 1000$ in professional photographs, makeup artist and time. It’s this simple huh? Smh 🤦♀️
Sauna Sana'a Simple enough! Do it yourself next time you update your digitals 😊
Can i do it on my phone though
Yes you can definitely use your phone to get started, just make sure you have good light and no distracting backgrounds 😌
I am still 14 and i am still getting into an industry
Are brick walls okay for digitals?
Just make sure the background isn’t distracting babe. No graffiti or bright colors.

I heard we look alike but I don’t see it lol
So early morning on a cloudy day is good for digitals?
priyanshi gupta yup! The light will fall evenly on you 🌤😊
Actually, I have to present my digitals today and it's been raining. The agency wants the picture in natural light without makeup. What do I do?
You can set up indoors just find a blank wall that gets good lighting! You can always brighten & adjust the color temp of the pics in an editing app 😉
Thankyou so much Kee❤️
what camera?
I was using the canon 70D but have upgraded to the Sony A7, sorry for the late reply 😅
