There's something about 14:55 that reminds me a lot of about the Dune (1984) Main Theme.. Although I think I read somewhere that Hans Zimmer didn't see it and won't see it so it doesn't alter his inspiration! Can anyone confirm? I've been driving myself a little insane over this ever since I saw Dune: Part One in theatres!
I noticed that the three ascending notes sound similar to one part of the Dream Theme from Dune 1984, where there is a similar three-note part in it. I would not call it a reference or a reprise, though, since the melodies are completely different - the only thing that makes them similar is just three ascending notes. But both actually evoke a mystical atmosphere.
Dune part 1 was the contemplative film. Dune part 2 was the explosive realization of things. Their tracks reflect this aspect, and I love them both.
