I recently run into a problem with trainers. As soon as a game is fully loaded i can switch windows and see the trainer but the mouse is like locked on to the gamescreen. When im moving the mouse im hearing it moving in the gamescreen while im on the trainerwindow. If the game is in a loadingscreen or something, where the mouse is not enabled, the trainer works perfectly fine. I hope someone understand me and can help
Hey ED I'm having a issue recently. Once I select a trainer using tinker launch I click save and play. At the top of the screen it says installing mod organizer 2. It only says this for a few seconds before kicking me back to my library stopping the game. I tried uninstalling tinker launch and deleting all it's setting but this problem persist and I'm unable to run a single trainer with a game but l because of it.

It would be awesome to cheat on the Steamdeck if there were a simple way of doing it. I can't get WeMod to install on my Steamdeck, and Cheat Happens Aurora installs, but won't activate any of the cheats through the virtual keyboard. I don't know if they will work via Bluetooth Keyboard and mouse, since I am waiting for mine to arrive. It shouldn't be this hard to mess around with cheats in offline, single player games, on the Steamdeck, or Linux. While I can say that this method does work, ish, I have a new problem. The game trainer that I am using uses f1 - f3 keys, which I can't seem to modify on the virtual keyboard, or through the trainer itself.
@@ED4T Yeah, well, I do have a keyboard and mouse on the way that are Bluetooth enabled. Nothing fancy, I just paid less than $15 for both on eBay. Considering how often I'll be using them, I don't think that it's worth spending anything more than $20 on a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse. I do think though, that the Steamdeck work's best with external Bluetooth keyboard and mouse. However, there is a temporary work around, which is to go back into game mode, and, while in game, remap the track pad controls, to support F1 - F8 on the right track pad alone. That method works fine on my Steamdeck right now. If your using a trainer that is only small, F1 - F10 say, it might actually be an ideal work around. It might not be so good though, if your using more advanced trainers, trainers that have 20+ options, but trainers like that are few and far between.

more videos on steam tinker launch (STL) would be awesome. A really powerful tool but not so easy to use. Ive been trying to use STL to run a mouse injector executable along with dolphin emulator on the same proton instance so I can have gyro aim on Time Splitters 2. I haven't been able to do it yet but any tutorials on STL be it modding or running multiple executables would be awesome!
This works! I downloaded the files from Fling which is great. Squadron works GTA V works sometimes (I notice when I start the game it zooms in and out. When I go to the cheat menu the touch screen or mouse plug does not work. I notice I have to run the game for a bit, and then I can select the cheats. switching to a different character, I notice that I cannot change the cheats until some time has passed then I can deselect the cheats. I tried restarting it and it is still the same. ). I tried other trainer files and it won't work. Something from Wemod popped up and I didn't download from Wemod.
Hopefully you're still checking this. During the Steam Tinker Launch, I get 2 messages saying, "Starting custom program 'b1.exe' forked into the background." And, "Starting BlackMythWukong using proton-9.0.3c" Then instead of getting the Main Menu option, the game normally starts. Everything was working fine last week until the latest Valve update. Do you know how to use trainer with Ubisoft game for example AC: Brotherhood. All trainers don’t work with tinker and cheatdeck. I think it’s because of Ubisoft game launcher. But how to solve this?😅
Nice Video, I've been using STL to run trainers on my Deck for while, but I've noticed a lot of trainers that never launch, I've even tailed the STL logs and I can see it launching the forked command, have you seen any recent issues with this, I've been wondering if maybe some trainers are being made with newer versions of dotnet that maybe Proton is having a harder time supporting. recent example is Elden Ring, I have the Fling trainer, but no matter what I do with STL the trainer window never appears.
I think it is caused by STL that's the main reason. Have you tried different versions of STL? 12.12 is the latest maybe try with some old version to see if it helps.

@@ED4T Yeah tried and didnt work. I got it to work with Mafia 2 tho. I had to map one of the keys to work as numlock, then map the left trackpad to use num1-9, then it worked.

Yes, the cheat engine is very nice and it has more functions over trainer files. the trainer file is just easier to set up & use. I am actually looking to do a guide for setting up the cheat engine on the steam deck. Farming is so boring in video games, we can get rich in the games so easily by cheating. but life is another story i purchased so many handhelds during the last 2 years and I am broke in real life now. refuse to broke in video games just like you lol.
@@ED4T trainer can't be used because non steam games requires proton to run, using steamtinker lauch does not work and game itself does not open, is there another way to do this please ?

nope you cant. you have to manually turn on the cheat every time you launch the game otherwise the cheat will not activate.

it can be anywhere which doesn't matter. I think i left in the download folder.

You can use the trackpad in the cheat menu, you just need to hold the Steam button.

It's like the mouse/touchscreen inputs are passing through to the other window which is the game itself.
Have you tried with mouse ? Maybe try to relaunch the game.
