    In the practice of the Allegany Territory of the Seneca Nation, Corn Dance is a social-dance song, not a ceremonial song, and may be shared publicly. on other territories, it is a ceremonial song. We share this here according to Allegany Seneca protocols and ask for understanding from those whose protocol is different.
    Corn Dance is preserved in oral tradition and is part of the cultural heritage of the Seneca Nation, protected under the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. This transcription is an interpretation based on the way one non-indigenous music scholar hears it. Permission is not granted to use this transcription for performance or publication by non-Seneca people.
