- Kanha Tiger Reserve is about 125 km from Jabalpur and about 440 km from Bhopal.We were lucky to spot 3 tigers at Kanha national park and that too from a close distance within 15 minutes time.
This is our last episode of the Madhya Pradesh Series, where in we started our journey from Chanderi then went to Sanchi stupa, Bhopal, panchmarchi and finally reached Kanha.

Date of Journey - 15th May 2024
Kanha National Park - We started our day early in the morning & travelled around 4 km from our Hotel & reached at Khatia Gate (Kanha National Park) for the Jungle Safari.
Zones of Kanha National Park: we did safari at Kanha zone.
Core Zones: Kanha, Sarahi, Mukki & Kisli.
Buffer Zones: Khatia, Sijhora, Phen and Khapa
The Kanha National Park is a location that is filled with large varieties of fauna out of which the jungle is best known for Barasingha, the Sambar deer, Spotted Deer & the Tigers.
Tiger Spotted in Kanha - This time we got very lucky during the tiger safari we saw 3 tigers from a very close distance & it was a lifetime experience to see the tiger from a very close distance.
Breakfast at Kanha - After this, we reached the centre point of Kanha National Park & had our breakfast here, we got packed breakfast from our hotel MPT.
Kanha Souvenir Shop - Then we visited a shop & purchased a Kanha Tiger Safari T-Shirt & Forest Honey from there.

Kanha Museum - After this we visited the Kanha Museum situated within the premises of Kanha National Park. This museum is dedicated to showcasing the attributes and history of the park and its ecosystem.
We also saw the 15-minute Presentation about the Kanha National Park in the Museum.

I visited Jim Corbett Tiger Reserve in 2015 during the Monsoon season, I couldn't spot the tiger there, only a few deer and monkeys, watching a tiger in the jungle is really an amazing experience. I was reminded of those days when I and a few of my friends were in the Gypsy car and curiously waiting to have a glimpse of the tiger. People were suggested not to make eye contact with the wild cat, it's kind of challenging for him and the cat could attack you. What a wonderful cat the tiger is, and lives alone the whole life. Poori with Aloo sabji and Samosa with Chutney is an awesome combo.

Hi Harishji, Great efforts. It was so wonderful to see the beautiful Tiger in its natural habitat. It is a difficult mission for Rangers to safeguard not only the Tigers from poachers but also its important food line of survival which are deer, guar etc.

Sir Pech ko Odisha me 'Pakhal' kehte hai. It is actually cooked rice washed or lightly fermented in water taken with salt. Sometimes curd, ginger or lemon is also added to spice it up.
