It is a timeless masterpiece, thank you Norman Foster, this bridge is a breath of fresh air in our age dominated by architectural mediocrity. I never imagined that a highway overpass in the 21st century can have such a grace.
Breathtaking video of one of the most beautiful and impressive construction feats ever attempted by man. I didn't know this even existed until today. I wish I could visit France.
Heel heel erg Mooi !!!
Great, great video arrangement and music score. This is the tallest bridge in the world.Try knocking this down Osama. You don't a chance and mess the France.Man what a masterpiece..Love it..
Absolutely incredible. I hate to say that for some of my fellow Americans (republicans), huge work projects or feats of engineering ingenuity like this are only in Americas past. Sad. Austerity does not work. A huge project like this would employ thousands.
@TNTJahvler, i read somewhere that in order to connect the 2 points it had to be that high because the mountain area was the same height across on both sides until it reached the Tarn River Valley
Because they didn't want the Autoroute to have a descent, they wanted the crossing over the Valley to be as flat as possible. Anyway, France knew what they were doing!
After long construction studies by the Ministry of Public Works, the low solution was abandoned because it would have intersected the water table, had a negative impact on the town, cost more, and lengthened the driving distance.
Only the name of the British architect, Norman Forster, is associated with the Millau Viaduc. Sad really because it's forgetting that it was also designed in collaboration with the French structural engineer Michel Virlogeux who realised the construction with his teams
Although I think that without a bridge to such a high position ... Construction costs would be enormous. You had better make a way to go up and down along the valley is good. Construction costs would be much lower.
Nice work!.. But why did theymake it so tall ? They could builit it real cheap by going down and up in the valley. Since there are no large ships crossing, such high clearence is not required, IMO. .
Quel pont majestique ! Belle musique d'ambiance.
I drove 1400 kilometres just to get there, and it was definitely worth it! Trully magic place. Everyone should see it live.
It's astonishing.

It looks higher when you go above it!
And the landscape is very beautiful. :)
What a feat of engineering. Beautiful to look at. LOVE THE MUSIC!!!
*****
The most majestic, beautiful man made structure in existence.

Engineering at its finest.
Simply superb.

Sir Norman Foster's architectural masterpiece and bravo La Belle France for seeing it thro'.
One day.... it'll be worth the run down there :0)

Breathtaking.
Great job Belgium ;-) :money from France, worker from Spain and engineer from Belgium (Greisch) :p
Thanks for your video
I never knew a man made structure could be angelic until now.
@TNTJahvler, i read somewhere that in order to connect the 2 points it had to be that high because the mountain area was the same height across on both sides until it reached the Tarn River Valley
just...wonderful!
Hypnotic video, good music ( soundtrack movie "Sunshine" ) !!!

Great Work !
yes the music is as beatiful as the bridge
After long construction studies by the Ministry of Public Works, the low solution was abandoned because it would have intersected the water table, had a negative impact on the town, cost more, and lengthened the driving distance.
LOL....so true!! This thing completely freaks me out.
Designed by the British. But yeh well done to French Engineering to create this masterpiece.

Bin there, its awesome!
this music is perfect
...sometimes i wish BMW had a production supercar -- just for moments like this....

Do you know the name of this Brian Eno track?
It looks like une rue de super express pour les voitures. Ile fait payer?
Why did they use those fiber barriers? it looks like if there is ever an accident a car has no chance.
GREAT JOB France!
THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR REPLY!!! I appreciate it.
British architect.
What I don't understand, is the fact that it cost less than 500 million euro.

top gear !!

nope, gonna have to give that award to the usa, sorry
but French structural engineer (thank god, when you think of the Millenium Wheel!)
"what is the music?" --> see below....
