As far as repetitiveness goes, every person has what is called a signature move, its what distinguishes them from the next dancer. Gucchon has some too, and so do many other dancers. Also there is nothing wrong with taking what you saw someone else do and tweaking it or making it your own, that's how dancing evolves. Anyway, its all about having fun and enjoying the music and letting the music speak to you. They both love dancing and that's what they came to do. Mad props to both.
What katoeezz says is exactly right. Timing, musicality. And when you have that in abundance you can do improvisations endlessly. He is of the same caliber as les twins. This guy is truly a legend and deserves allways respect. He brought interpretation to a different level. And he has what great clowns like Popov have as an extra.
I think that if we mix many different elements together and make dancing not only 'dancing' but also an 'entertaining show', it will be a perfect and wonderful dancing. This is what Salah taught me and also this is what Salah always does.
The humor that Salah brings is what I like. Not to take it too serious, dancing is about having fun, and Salah looks likes he's having fun. Just because he does the same moves doesn't mean he can't do just about anything. Lots of dancers perform the same moves especially when you have as many vids on youtube Salah has you will probably see the same thing more than once.
What an awesome battle!! both styles were awesome!! i didn't know who Gucchon was until this battle and hes good as a popper and im pretty sure he has gotten better since then, but here i think salah won
salah wins because he shows something different in battles and is still able to hit and show musicality at the same time. you guys might say he does the same shit over and over but no one else can do what he does.
don't say that salah is not a professional popper.. he's one of the rare beings who have actually brought something new to the game. he's an innovative dancer who has stretched the walls of traditional popping and introduced a more entertaining way of delivering through his unique character. he's truly a pioneer and a damn good popper. yall need to respecanize.
salah is very charismatic & is very fan friendly. sometimes even incorporating fans into the show. its hard not to like him going in. which i think helps him in the end, not that he needs it. now that he is so big, its harder for the other guy to live up to the hype.
o and another thing when people say salah is clowning its not clowning its what cha call character and trust me its helps alot to have great character especially when battling... some people gotta realize that there'z a difference between battling and performing
Personally, I think there's no winner. Salah and Gucchon are awesome dancers and they are the best when the stuff is about locking and poppin'! One day I'd like to go to Japan, the world's best poppin' n lockin' dancers are there!
i definitely love gucchon and hold him to a higher esteem, but i also deeply respect salah. hes come a far way, even though he does do more tricks than the usual popper, salah has considerable skill, more than people give him credit for.
Its great to see a battle of such a high level!! Gucchon and Salah go wayyy back and they know each other pretty well. Even though both are elite poppers, I feel that Salah did better than Gucchon mainly because he was on point more. Don't know about you guys but Gucchon is a hell of a popper too.
In my humble opinion. I think Gucchon was there to dance. I see Salah as an entertainer. He always gets the crownd going. Eye poppin moves and shit. But Gucchon. SHIT. Killed it.
Salah is a phenomenal dancer. Gucchon is an amazing popper. You see the difference? Gucchon would kill anyone is a straight poppin contest, but when ur able to throw different aspects of all types of dance into a performance, thats when Salah shines. You see what i mean? Regardless. Both are crazy talented.
both are such fantastic dancers, but i'd prefer salah the winner as he is a superb dancer and a superb entertainer at the same time, at the end entertainment is what counts for the winner if both are as good as these two are, anyhow its my thinking but salah is fun to watch...
ok all u haters sayin gucchon is "like a baloon filled with water" and "has no flow" 1 i would like to see you get anywhere near that level of dancing and 2 saying he moves randomly like a water balloon is like saying graphite is more valuable than dimonds and 3 both salah and gucchon are 2 of the worlds best dancers, salah has the extreme creativity and uniqueness on his side, gucchon has technique and flow into his style and both are extremely formitible and hard to judge i tink salah wins tho
I think there is a little misunderstanding between us, I was said"battle is basically do something your competitor can't " that means I m not trying to do something my competitor does, I m doing something my competitor CAN'T, or don't know how to do it. that match Salah won, doesn't mean he is the greatest dancer of all time, it just a match, if we don't like the result, maybe we should cancel all games, boty, JD, and take it back to the subway, street corner, or club, peace
I respect both salah and gucchon. they have own style. it's hard to say which is better. only I know I DON'T WANNA SEE THEM at battle which I participate lol
They both popped well. I think collectively, Gucchon online started popping in his second round. During the first round his body wasn't popping enough and you couldn't notice it; it was too fluid-like. His second round was great though. With Salah, he was popping noticeably in both rounds, which is what really made the difference in this battle. Sure he entertains, but that's all part of the battle. You have to win the crowd over the opponent with popping. Which he obviously did well.
before i thought salah had won this but over a couple months i realised how much better gucchon did in this one, salah went on way too long with the theatrics and he wasnt even on beat, and dont tell me im wrong cause you gotta dance on beat when you pop man. theyre both great though
Saying people are "rubbish" at this level is a completely illogical statement to make. If they are at this competition then they have serious skill. They also have fun in what they do and everyone should do the same. Isn't that where this all started? Each excel in their own art and it is ART, not sport which is why judging at competitions is flawed anyway.
The person who says, "Salah is only a entertainer" thinks conservatively. Salah has the base of steady boogaloo. I understand why you pay attention to the interest of the dance of salah. However, salah actually wins gucchon at respect of the base. You do not notice it. Salah has the originality further on that.
Gucchon changed his style to express, not to impress. Isnt it most important thing? B4 he was all EB,same feel and rolls. After that he changed his style to be truly himself.. U know, like Elsewhere, Skywalker,Tetris,Acky..
man im tired of people saying that Salah is good. yo. dig it. yeah he's good, but he does the same moves every god damn time.! it pissses me off that newbies new to popping think that salah is ACTUALLY popping in a POPPING BATTLE. he does tricks kiddies, not popping. get it right and your facts. salah is a circus clown and thats it. tell him to just go entertain people in the circus instead of being in a proffesional popping battle... gucchon was outrageous. pretty nice boogaloo and on beat. :)
salah here compared to now?? the technicality i can say he improved for past 4 years but gucchon?? he improved hell alot.. if they battled right now? ohh.
Like @azntaiwan said, Salah wins in any battle. Kinda like learning to walk before learning to run, you gotta learn to dance before you can pop. Otherwise it risks looking too mechanical, or you forget to win over the audience
Gucchon has sick in the first round and the beginning of second round but after that it was weakkkk. Hes gotta end big, that woulda turned the judges for sure. Like Salah always ends BIG! thats what was the difference in my opinion.
What was Gucchon rubbing on his shoes? I pop for recreation, but I'm not competitive, so I don't know these things. Does it make it easier to glide or something?
come on guys, stop complainin and comparin.this was what,4 to 5 christmases ago? do you guys know how much a popper can stay stagnant and improve during these few years? i honestly think Gucchon was good here, like real'good. but he's totally great now, such vast improvements and i've always liked his style(though my bias is Kite).and i know Salah's really good too ,he gives wow effects so well and commenters are callin him legends'n stuff.but he just doesnt appeal to me.
i think for those hu sayin salah had this look down on gucchon too much... see this is a funk styles battle and gucchon is one of the funkiest cats out there. there salah is good ill admit he can hella put on a show. but gucchon is defines tat funk. iono bout u guys but i think gucchon had this one
salah has more originality. Gucchon's routine looks like every other plain popping routine. Who says what popping is? Guys like salah blur the line. I think it makes it better overall. Maybe the definition of popping needs an adjustment lol
@El3ctricBo0g maybe i'll eat my words for saying this to a guy who calls himself Electricboog, but take a look at 5:52. That's a boogaloo roll, albeit extremely isolated. I'm pretty sure he does it quite a few other times during the match. What i'm saying is that you saying "salah showed none of that," isn't true. Salah took boogaloo to the next level and made it his own, but still applies the same techniques. He just uses more iso I'm both a gucchon and salah fan. What you said isnt true.
i am a huge salah fan because he is fun to watch, but he;s definitely not the best popper, i think gucchon was definitely the winner. Salah does alot of boogaloo, sometimes breakdance moves animation and a lot of other stuff. But there are way more better poppers than him. But i have to say he's one of the best entertainers:)
if they battle again, gucchon would destroy him. dude's huge now. he's top top. salah on the other hand, same like old days. oh yeah, more tricks. to entertain, salah is monster. he knos how to entertain ppl. but in poppin battle, salah can do shit front of gucchon's funk and groove.
Both are great. But JESUS get off the effing floor. I was rooting for Gucchon, but it takes real guts/class on Salah's part to let him have the entire floor during the performance, while he's crowding him. I'm sure it's in the spirit of "friendly competiton" but let the man dance.
This battle will remain immortalized forever in the history of dance
As far as repetitiveness goes, every person has what is called a signature move, its what distinguishes them from the next dancer. Gucchon has some too, and so do many other dancers. Also there is nothing wrong with taking what you saw someone else do and tweaking it or making it your own, that's how dancing evolves. much props for both this is one of the first battle i seen when i started watching popping and still enjoy watching this battle one my favorite
Salah couldn't touch gucchon now, gucchon has gotten crazy!
How time flies. ;(
Both good, both fun to watch, both respect each other!!!
اوووه على ايامك ياصلاح
برايم صلاح 😊
What an awesome battle!! both styles were awesome!! i didn't know who Gucchon was until this battle and hes good as a popper and im pretty sure he has gotten better since then, but here i think salah won
salah wins because he shows something different in battles and is still able to hit and show musicality at the same time. you guys might say he does the same shit over and over but no one else can do what he does.
Salah is so complete. He stays out of the field when his opponent is performing. I value that.
The songs are listed somewhere in the comments... I think the first song was "Pop It" - One Way. I don't remember the second song.
regardless of who won they remain the cream of the crop.
and among the best top ranking dancers.
don't say that salah is not a professional popper.. he's one of the rare beings who have actually brought something new to the game. he's an innovative dancer who has stretched the walls of traditional popping and introduced a more entertaining way of delivering through his unique character. he's truly a pioneer and a damn good popper. yall need to respecanize.
salah is truly a dancer. it's entertaining and skillful. perfect combo
gucchon fucks up people on the dancefloor ok, he is one of the best poppers the world has ever seen
salah always has this unexpected moves and never does his moves over and over again like any other poppers there.
respect is beautiful
i hate people that when you dance imitate your move while you're doing daaaamn! great battle
salah is very charismatic & is very fan friendly. sometimes even incorporating fans into the show. its hard not to like him going in. which i think helps him in the end, not that he needs it.
now that he is so big, its harder for the other guy to live up to the hype.
o and another thing when people say salah is clowning its not clowning its what cha call character and trust me its helps alot to have great character especially when battling... some people gotta realize that there'z a difference between battling and performing
Tracklist:
1.- One Way - Pop What You Got
2.- The Fatback Band - Burn Baby Burn
Personally, I think there's no winner. Salah and Gucchon are awesome dancers and they are the best when the stuff is about locking and poppin'! One day I'd like to go to Japan, the world's best poppin' n lockin' dancers are there!
i wish Salah and the boy on the Kollaboration will have a batlle one time... :)
i definitely love gucchon and hold him to a higher esteem, but i also deeply respect salah. hes come a far way, even though he does do more tricks than the usual popper, salah has considerable skill, more than people give him credit for.
great battle! i loved them both
if you're talking about between his rounds, it's for traction
i think dude with the black hat for sure knows how to pop
Its great to see a battle of such a high level!! Gucchon and Salah go wayyy back and they know each other pretty well. Even though both are elite poppers, I feel that Salah did better than Gucchon mainly because he was on point more. Don't know about you guys but Gucchon is a hell of a popper too.
1st song is Pop What You Got by One Way
pretty good battle. different styles, both good.
and turned his head into an alien that was awesome
In my humble opinion. I think Gucchon was there to dance.
I see Salah as an entertainer. He always gets the crownd going. Eye poppin moves and shit.
But Gucchon. SHIT. Killed it.
2nd song is Fatback - Burn Baby Burn
A segunda musica é do fatback band - burn on baby
alguma coisa assim.
abraço.
Salada - São Paulo - Brazil.
You know how most poppers have a signature move or just a habit that sets them apart?
yeah. thats basically it.
Gucchon was good, but Salah is ridiculous. and i think he battled more as to just faced the judges.
Salah is a phenomenal dancer.
Gucchon is an amazing popper.
You see the difference? Gucchon would kill anyone is a straight poppin contest, but when ur able to throw different aspects of all types of dance into a performance, thats when Salah shines. You see what i mean? Regardless. Both are crazy talented.
great showing from both. salah is also a bit of an illusionist, dont u think?
both are such fantastic dancers, but i'd prefer salah the winner as he is a superb dancer and a superb entertainer at the same time, at the end entertainment is what counts for the winner if both are as good as these two are, anyhow its my thinking but salah is fun to watch...

One Way - Pop It / Pop what you got
salah pops, hes a popper and he has got so many intricate homemade magic moves, you couldnt come up with anything like it so just zip it.
before i thought salah had won this but over a couple months i realised how much better gucchon did in this one, salah went on way too long with the theatrics and he wasnt even on beat, and dont tell me im wrong cause you gotta dance on beat when you pop man. theyre both great though

@TomDHify the uk scene still very much up and coming hopefully be at uk bboy in 5-10 yrs time we will see though :)
Gucchon changed his style to express, not to impress. Isnt it most important thing? B4 he was all EB,same feel and rolls. After that he changed his style to be truly himself.. U know, like Elsewhere, Skywalker,Tetris,Acky..
Nice Final Battle...
man im tired of people saying that Salah is good. yo. dig it. yeah he's good, but he does the same moves every god damn time.! it pissses me off that newbies new to popping think that salah is ACTUALLY popping in a POPPING BATTLE. he does tricks kiddies, not popping. get it right and your facts. salah is a circus clown and thats it. tell him to just go entertain people in the circus instead of being in a proffesional popping battle... gucchon was outrageous. pretty nice boogaloo and on beat. :)
LOL i love at 2:20 gucchon already knows hes going to do that stupid hat shit LoL
Gucchon lost because he had very little hits, smooooth though....very smooth...Salah is just soo goo dall around he can have fun and still kill.
if nothing else i give this to salah on execution, sharper, trickier movement.
@Rev31test your so right, i hate it when they do that... salah is guilty of its too sometime... they all do it...
salah here compared to now?? the technicality i can say he improved for past 4 years but gucchon?? he improved hell alot.. if they battled right now? ohh.
first song is one wey-pop it
Like @azntaiwan said, Salah wins in any battle. Kinda like learning to walk before learning to run, you gotta learn to dance before you can pop. Otherwise it risks looking too mechanical, or you forget to win over the audience
You are astonishing. Salah
Salah killed that cat....
you left out Legend. Also one of the dopest poppers
doesnt matter what. but every move salah makes looks better than his opponents moves.
lovin' Gucchon in this vid- hands down~
gucchon........whadax....
dope
Well done, O Salah
Salah is the best..
The most funky dude!
Gucchon has sick in the first round and the beginning of second round but after that it was weakkkk. Hes gotta end big, that woulda turned the judges for sure. Like Salah always ends BIG! thats what was the difference in my opinion.
es una pena la persona q no conosca a salah y no saber q su cuerpo no solamente camina, corrre, o salta si no tambien se expresa al sentir la musica
Would love to see Salah actually popping for once... all tricks and showmanship, god it gets old always the same shit.
I think in the future people will tire of salah's tricks and when all you got is skill.. id rather be guchon man =/ his popping is sick as hell
@PoppinJazzY that is EXACTLY WHAT I AM TRYING TO SAY FOR YEARS
What was Gucchon rubbing on his shoes? I pop for recreation, but I'm not competitive, so I don't know these things. Does it make it easier to glide or something?
lol@ the dude in the blue! he tryin tho.
well heres some news for u, if you watch a video of any1 well known, ur gonna find their fans watch it too.
Out of respecit isn't the one waiting suppose to get off the floor?
first song one way-pop what you got
come on guys, stop complainin and comparin.this was what,4 to 5 christmases ago? do you guys know how much a popper can stay stagnant and improve during these few years? i honestly think Gucchon was good here, like real'good. but he's totally great now, such vast improvements and i've always liked his style(though my bias is Kite).and i know Salah's really good too ,he gives wow effects so well and commenters are callin him legends'n stuff.but he just doesnt appeal to me.
upload it please , hehe. thx bro
salah the best... he makes the dance funny...
yeer can u please upload salah vs kid boogie man:D
i think for those hu sayin salah had this look down on gucchon too much... see this is a funk styles battle and gucchon is one of the funkiest cats out there. there salah is good ill admit he can hella put on a show. but gucchon is defines tat funk. iono bout u guys but i think gucchon had this one

Gucchon sem ritimo .
Trick are also part off popping
FYI: theres 1 c in Guchon ^^
DOPE much respect to both! but personally i felt that gucchon should have won...
I think salah had better moves but gucchon danced more to the beats.
for got i think its one way -pop what you got
Who knows the name of the first song??
