Honeypot styled mugs with little tiny bees on em! 🐝🍯
Maybe to ambitious, but I would like to make a set of dinnerware for my friends as a wedding gift 🫠😅
I'd love to make some Japanese style drinking cups with this wheel! :)
Comment left. Clean fingers crossed. Hoping to soon have clays embedded under my fingernails and slip all over my hands
Me and my neighbor started pottery classes a half year ago. Going to class once a week does not fulfill are craving to do pottery. We love it so much and would like to do pottery at home and because we live side by side we would share this amazing beginners wheel. End result is two happy followers that love to watch your video’s and learn so much about pottery and everything that comes with it.
I’m in Australia & have just started pottery after years of collecting it and dreaming of making some pieces!!! I am obsessed with making mugs & candle holders and I would be soooooo beyond grateful and honoured to win this give away!!! Thank you for sharing what you do xx
I have gotten into pottery in the last year and having a wheel at home would be a game changer for me. I love it so much, but there are few (to none) accessible open studio spaces in my area. I would use this wheel to make my first drop of accessible mugs! I want to make pottery usable for anyone, regardless of their mobility. I love your channel! Thanks for what you make 💛
This review is what i've been waiting for thank you! I've had to give up a career in midwifery due to a disability from birth meaning I can no longer walk the wards. I've had a lifelong dream of creating ceramics so I think now is finally the time :) My disability was a result of arriving into the world at just 25 weeks. I dream of making night lights for the mum and preemie special care room as both enjoy important cuddles. Memory boxes for babies who left us too soon. And very importantly mugs for midwife coffee breaks as a reminder they're doing amazing work. ❤
I'm learning so much thank you again for your generous spirit in sharing through your videos.
i would just love to learn to center and finish a project without it falling apart..practice practice practice is what I would do..
I FINALLY started pottery this year after a decade of watching people doing it and feeling like I wouldn’t be any good at it and I’m in LOVE ! Thank you for your content that finally made me jump to the other side 🤩🥰
I would make my first collection on this wheel 💪💪
I'm from Switzerland, but I've been staying with my boyfriend in Lisbon for the last few months. So I've had a lot of time and have finally realized my long-held dream: pottery. I worked for many hours every day in a small studio and found so much joy in it. Yesterday I drove 36 hours home and transported entire backpacks full of bowls, cups and jugs by long-distance bus. :) I would be really happy about the wheel, because my roommate and I have decided to set up a cozy mini studio in our small winter garden here in Bern. So it would be perfect. ♥️
Great review! I would really love this so my 13 year-old daughter could throw with me. She is going to start doing kid’s craft fairs at the end of the month and wants to make trinket dishes, soap dishes, mugs and bowls, ring/jewelry holders. ❤
Wow! Ok, now I need this wheel to FINALLY start pottering! It's been on my mind for two years, I'm watching other people on YT doing pottery, supporting local potters by buying their cups and I think it's my time to try and do my own cups :)
Thank you for doing this review I have been looking for a beginner wheel to start throwing at home! I make bowls plates cups and vases for school and to sell at local farmers markets and can’t wait to find a decent priced kiln as well!!! Thank you so much!
I would love to make a set of beautifully crafted ceramic dinnerware, including plates, bowls and mugs. Each piece would be unique yet cohesive, adding a touch of handmade charm to every meal.
As someone who started pottery this year after longing to do it for a long time, and is slowly progressing through air clay, with hopes of mastering the wheel and kiln in the future, I appreciate videos like these. They offer a potentially more affordable entry into wheel throwing compared to, for example, spending $1500. I hope to create ceramics for myself, my family, friends, and hopefully others, sharing a part of my character and history through them. Thanks for your lovely videos! I always enjoy them :)
I will absolutely make many, many mugs, bowls, and lots of vases as my fiancé and I tend to keep a lot of live flowers. I will absolutely pick this up when I can afford it! Thank you for the video!
I got this exact wheel and I can recommend it as a great budget wheel for beginners, I’ve had it for about a year now, I was afraid it wouldn’t last long, but so far it has. Also what I did to raise it to a nice height before I built a proper structure for it was use the styrofoam block that comes with it.
Thank you for this review, throwing clay at home seemed unimaginable, I didn’t know there was a wheel this financially accessible.
I’m starting my first lessons next month, after two workshops (and a year waiting list) I know that working with clay makes me happy. I’m suffering from depression and creative block for a while now and desperately need to find my way back to making and creating.
I learned how to throw on a wheel as a teen but had to take a 10-year hiatus when I graduated high school. I knew I would eventually find my way back to the wheel, and that time has finally come! I’m taking a weekly class just to have access to a wheel, but I am dying to have a wheel of my own so that I can jump back into my passion full force! I’m also looking forward to teaching my partner and best friend how to throw (and hand build). I want to make full dining sets for myself, my family, and eventually other people too! ❤
It looks like it would be great on a table - I’ve discovered I prefer throwing standing up! And I’ve also recently discovered the joys of using a rib to shape the inside of a bowl. So I’d be doing lots of that!
My daughter (10) and i have just started pottery and she would absolutely go mental if we were lucky enough to be chosen.
Your videos have been extremely helpful for us all the way over here in Australia!
We would make a nice vase for flowers for her Nanna and then just ALL the bowls!
Currently going through a big life change, moving from Germany to UK and now to Sweden - to hopefully live the life my partner and I are dreaming of. Which for me means, being self employed and finally trying the things I have been dreaming of doing for ages now. On top of my list is pottery and wood turning 🥰 I would love to make our dishes myself and maybe make others happy with some nice pieces too😊 You're videos are super interesting and helpful and make me want to make pottery even more😀
I was so inspired by the sets of plates you made a few weeks or so ago. I would love to make some myself to keep and give to my kids too. I have been doing pottery lessons for a few years now and having my own wheel at home would be a huge bonus for me. Such a shame they don't ship to the UK.
Having my own little wheel is a wish I had for a while now. I regularly go to a pottery studio with all my bits and pieces. Having one at home would make things a lot easier. I work on making lemon squeezers and tea lights and plates at the moment. Thanks for your lovely videos ✨
I would love to throw all kinds of crazy shaped mugs and plant pots! Love your videos, you're always so genuine and your makes inspire me so much :)
I've been wanting to try Pottery for 35 years. A friend & I finally started lessons a few weeks ago. Really enjoying it. I'd love to make a few dog food & water bowls for our Moodle puppy named Coco. Just need to practice more 😀 winning this wheel would be amazing & can share it with my friend & children to use ❤️🙏
I love that there are more and more cheap/beginner friendl optional on the market! I would looove to make many little mugs 😍
I’m so excited that such an affordable wheel works so well!! What a great option for people starting out :) and I honestly love watching your videos reviewing more affordable wheels, because so many people really like pottery and ceramics and just have no idea where to start ): I feel like you make it really accessible!
I ordered a wheel from vevor based on your last review. It has its flaws in construction, the switches are loose but it’s completely fixable. It was the $250 wheel and it’s got adjustable legs to be taller. Totally worth it! So far I love it! Still I would love to have people in the studio with me!!! I would get so much use! Thanks!
I haven't thrown since high school and now that I'm retired I would love to make some mugs and bowls with my grandkids. Love your videos!
I will continue learning about and making Korean style moon jars and dinnerware. I’m Korean American and it’s really helped me connect with my family’s history. Actually, I’m writing this from my trip to Ichon, Korea where I’m visiting ceramicists and shops! ❤
Besides plates and mugs I would love to learn how to throw a tea pot. I fell in love with pottery because of the pottery throw down and your videos. The last year me and my friends went to local pottery courses and a wheel would be a great addition to this hobby.
gosh I'd make so many little trinket dishes! All sorts of things honestly! I'm saving up to get a wheel soon, might have to be this one!
My partner and i have been yearning to start pottery at home. He has plans to build a kiln as soon as possible. Our daughter Kimber loves chamomile tea (as all little girls do) so a tea cup set would absolutely be first on the list and our son Odin is still in a crib so maybe a nightlight/table lamp(like the spinning kind that throws shapes on the wall). Ooo and also a garlic grater and butter bell for us adults of the house!
I would finally tick off one of the things I saved for years for my studio that isn't ready yet, but I can't wait for having all I need and start. I would like to make my mugs, my plates, my bowls, my planters, sculptures in earthenware and everything that I can possible imagine to make! Thank you for the opportunity for us all!❤
My wife has gotten into pottery again, what a great hobby. It's been a great change in her ability to leave work behind and relax. We have started to build a small at-home studio and do not yet have a wheel - it would be great to start with something small like this! Great content! keep it up!
I would love to use this wheel to learn how to throw bowls for ice cream and pots for my garden. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us!!
The first thing I will make with this wheel is a mug! ☕️ I will also make plates and bowls. I just started taking a beginner pottery class and I’m hooked! ❤
Thanks for another great video Mia! After watching The Great Pottery Throw Down seasons many times over I finally signed up and took a 6 week class. I loved it! I’d love to have a wheel to be able to practice at home. One of the things I’d love to be able to make some day is a large ramen bowl. I’m still working my way up size wise and my bowls are steadily getting larger - I keep forgetting how much things shrink 😂 Thanks again for all the great content!!
I took my first pottery class last fall and I have fallen in love with throwing! Since then, I have made a few teapots on the wheel. They aren't the best, but each teapot has been bigger and better than the last! I would love to hone teapot my skills at home and maybe make a whole tea set!
Recently I am crazy about making table lamp bodies, different sizes and shapes, finishing with exciting lamp shades as accesories. I could use a wheel in these processes. Good luck to you with your interesting projects. 😊
I joined a community centre a couple of years ago and started hand building once a week during term time. It had such a positive impact on my wellbeing. This year I tried the wheel and am amazed at how therapeutic it is. Would love to have my own wheel so I can do pottery more than once a week to make gifts for friends and family and some homeware for our flat.
That's awesome that you're willing to give it away. Since I've only taken a single class I would use it to just work on technique and consistency. When I start to gain some skills, I plan on making at least one ramen bowl and planters of several sizes.
I just got one of these for mother's day and stumbled across your review. super informative and I know my husband and daughter didn't waste their monies. Thanks! you've definitely got a new sub!
Oh boy another wheel ! It does look really affordable and easy to start on. I would love to make some mugs (to the absolute dismay of my husband ahah !) and I recently met a local artist who would share her kiln, that would be amazing ! In any case, I'm sure it will find a lovely home ^^
Like this one much better! I'd definitely use it for throwing mugs and bowls but especially to sit and practice cylinder pulls as many times as I can to get good at it!
One thing I really love doing with clay are teapots. I don't know why but I find myself repetedly making different kinds of teapots, although I usually use handbuilding techniques. I would love to use the wheel to make some bubble shaped teapots with handbuilt details and pencil drawings on top!
I would be so grateful to get this wheel to start this rather expensive hobby. I always wanted to throw my own ramen bowls and cute mugs as well as some jewerelly plates or vases. Greetings from Berlin!
I've in the last 6 months began with throwing and taking classes at my local pottery studio. I've taken enough classes that I can now attend open studio and throw independently. I'm currently practicing small vessels and getting better. I'd love to make prep bowls and candle stick holders and eventually lidded jars.
I took a ceramics class in high school and fell in love. I didn't think that I'd actually be able to make a career or business out of it, but the more i watch, the more im excited to dive back in. I'd love to add to my mug collection and maybe make my own dinner plates and bowls.
I've wanted to learn how to throw pottery ever since I tried it in high school, many, many, many years ago. I think I would mostly make plates and different kinds of vessels for decor or to use with flowers 👍🏾❤️🤞🏾
I arrived in Germany at the pandemic's beginning, and I had no friends or language skills. Saxony was super restricting, and I didn't know what to do with myself. But, thanks to the universe and the TH-cam algorithm, your videos landed on my lap, and I couldn't be more grateful! Your tutorials gave me a creative outlet and something to look forward to. I started doing mugs for my family in South America and kept doing pottery, thinking that soon I'd be able to visit them (It finally happened last year 🥰). Now, doing pottery is one of the things I like the most, and I owe it to you and your videos! I was hoping to keep practising and take the next step in my pottery journey with the help of a wheel. It would be amazing! Thank you for your generosity in sharing information and all the care and love you put into your videos! 💕
Secretly planning on making my husband a chess set. I showed him the candle one you made because I wasn't sure if he'd like a ceramic set but he thought it was really cool.
I would make my first thrown piece! Probably a bowl or something very easy. I've only done hand sculpting, but I've always wanted to try throwing. Thank you for your videos! I love them!
I do love that you are offering this wheel to all subscribers. I have one similar to it. I did learn to throw standing and I think it is easier on my back. I still wish I could use bats.
I use bats with one of those batería cloths and it works fine!
I have just started my pottery journey and I’m currently on a course- but would love to practice what I’ve learned and try out myself on doing some bowls and planting pots 🪴
thanks for this review! I started pottery on a wheel this year and i just fell in love with it, so i booked some classes. with a own potterywheel i would like to intense my skills. I love trowing Vases and plant pots, for my many plants, and coffee cups for my loved ones. Maybe someday i also can open an online shop *dream*
I have been participating in a pottery class for one and a half years now. I am really happy I found my hobby in pottery. Though it‘s only once a week and I‘ld like to build things in between especially on the weekends. I looked at pottery wheels many times, but many of them are so expensive. I want to make bubble cups and small plates. Xoxo
I would love to use the wheel for training my throwingskills. I just finished my first year of a 3 year pottery course. Including throwing, handbuilding and making my own glazes. This wheel will help me get my throwing hours to a next level and hopefully find my unique style as a potter 😊
I just got into pottery recently and I love it ☺️. I have always been fascinated by it and I finally got to take a pottery class where we made small bowls. I want to be able to make more pieces for myself as well as my friends and family.
I am new new new to pottery. I’d love to use this hobby to center myself while I center the clay. I’d love to make jugs and crockery but will need to start with the basics first. Your videos are so calming and I can’t wait to start learning.
Would love to explore making a tea set and dinnerware. I dabbled in pottery making at school and University. It would be a dream come true to start it up again!
I would love to have it to practice centering and making cylinders so that eventually I could make myself a dinner place setting!! Thank you for your wonderful tutorials...they have helped me so much in my handbuilding and wheel throwing!
Good honest review. I like that this newer version has room to set water and tools. AND I love the new hair (you, not the wheel). If I had this wheel, I’d change the plug ;) and try my hand at some mugs!
I really love your videos and they actually inspired me to get into pottery. I had a huge art block the last two years, but finally got my motivation back with pottery. Step by step, I want to build my own home studio and I actually plan on doing my own set of dishes by hand OR, if I would have a pottery wheel, by throwing ;)
Greetings from northern Germany!
I just started my pottery journey in January and would absolutely love to have this wheel in my garden because I get inspired by nature and my natural surroundings. I would love to make a teapot with this wheel :) covered with floral surface design!
I just started my journey in pottery and would love to master the basics first and eventually make cute mugs that combine with my personal illustration style 🖤 Thank you so much for this review since this is one of the ones I was looking at as entry level just to practice throwing!!
I would love to make a dinnerware set on this wheel! Pottery classes are in high demand in my area, so having a wheel at home would help keep my practice momentum going. Thanks for making these review videos!
Finally something budget friendly! Awesome review! I'd love to make a generous cereal bowl on this wheel 😋
I would love to make a dining set for my friends and I to use in our house together. We are a group of college students/young adults getting ready to start living in community, and it would be really special to make something for the house first, and then be able to do all the cool pottery things with it!
Thank you for your videos, they are very entertaining and helpful!
I would love to practice throwing mugs! Today I hand/slap-build, love that, but would love to try out the different look throwing gives to my ceramic 😍
Hello, from Portugal, I'm setting up a small studio, in my grandmother's old house, in a small village called Lousa and located in the Castelo Branco area 🥰🥰 . I like teaching children to work with clay and this pottery wheel would really come in handy, it would be gold on blue. I hope I get lucky, if not congratulations to whoever ends up with her. A hug.
Great review! I looked at a similar model and read reviews. One reviewer used bed risers from Amazon to lift it up and said it worked great. That might be a good option for the winner to try out. Thanks again for your detailed review. All the best!🙏❤️🕯
I've wanted to get into pottery for a while now! Took a few classes, enjoyed it a lot. I want to make mug and plates/serving bowls for my own use :) And decorative pots
Wow wow this would be amazing after two years in a studio to be able to this at home as well!! I would make a lot of vases and kitchenware like one of those cylinder shapes for your cutlery to dry in after the dishes is on my wish list for some time :) and practice practice practice :) lots of love from the NL
I started with pottery back in August and I'm still learning how to throw. Sometimes it results in a mug, sometimes in a bowl... would be awesome to have a wheel at home to practise some more...
I just started with pottery 6 months ago, but i absolutly and completly fell in love with it. And i want to replace all my kitchen items with handmade items by myself. So this wheel would definitly help me to do that! (Even though I also love all you slab building templates) 🤞🏾
I got into wheel throwing and loved it so much I started looking into getting a wheel at home! I’d definitely use this for making little vases and planters or even dinnerware!
I’ve been practicing wheel throwing at a studio in my city. The travel time back and forth is almost as long as I throw! I’d love a small wheel to use at home. I’m hoping to make more pierced vessels like orchid pots in the future.
Discovering my mom's love for pottery has been an emotional journey for me. Losing her at such a young age meant I didn't get the chance to know her passions until now. But finding pottery, falling in love with it, and realizing it connects me to her in such a profound way has been both heartbreaking and uplifting.
It's like I've uncovered a piece of her soul that I never knew existed. Knowing that she dreamed of making a full dinner set fills me with a sense of purpose and determination to fulfill that dream for her. It's my way of feeling close to her, of keeping her memory alive through something we both love.
Winning this pottery disc would mean the world to me. Not just because of its beauty or craftsmanship, but because it symbolizes the bond I share with my mom and the legacy I'm carrying forward in her honor. I would like to finnish a project she started but couldn`t finnish: a simple set of dinning plates for the family.
My sister fell in love with ceramics in high school and hasn’t been able to do it since she dropped out of college. I know she misses it and I’d love to give her the means to practice her favorite medium again. ♥️
I'm new to wheelthrowing so I would probably try to start off with some easy things like mugs. Thanks for the review, it was great to see that there's options to try it out at home without breaking the bank😄
Thank you for your honest feedback. I would love to use that wheel to help make my anxiety lower while making beautiful pieces. I have found the artist expression an effective distraction. Thank you for the chance.
My grandma and I are big pottery enthusiasts and right now we are mostly handbuilding, but we did a wheel throwing workshop recently and be both are so enthusiastic now! We would love to make cool mugs, vases and bowls in the future on a wheel for the little markets we sell our work on!
I'd love to learn the basics of throwing, and trimming on a wheel like this. Throw some mugs, bowls, vases and just have some fun making 😊
I would love to make a tea cup and teapot. I try to learn on bending wheel, but this would be totally gamechanger 🙂🍃
I’ve been new to pottery and have been hand building with a local community group so I would love to learn to wheel throw..my first project would probably be a bowl love your videos so informative Thanks 😊
I have endless ideas and projects on my list and Pinterest board that I want to make! But I think I would start trying to attempt to make a set of Japanese style teacups.
I am a beginner and I am following a course, but with only the once a week practice, you build your skills slowly and I would like to practice more at home. Winning this would mean I can!
Love your videos!
I don’t know that I would use it for throwing, but I definitely would use it for trimming. Love the videos!!
Hi Mia, thanks for all the inspiration! I am thinking about making a pottery werkstatt in my cellar, so winning this wheel would help a lot with making that a reality! I would love to throw some coffee bowls and play around with glases. And sonce I saw your recent plates video, I want to make plates! Winning this wheel would be thrilling, to be honest!
This wheel would be perfect for me as I am just starting into my pottery journey! I would love to explore different shapes of cups and make me the coffee cup of my dreams :)
Love the look of this!!
I’m learning pottery and live a little far out from my local studio, I’d love to make little arty pots to have at local art markets 🥺
Hi Mia! I recently decided I needed a change from teaching art at a public school. I want to open a ceramic studio. I have production and wheel workshops in mind for the future so a wheel would be so amazing to have! Thanks! I love your TH-cam channel by the way!!
I would love to make my steampunk mugs and bowls with this wheel. And I throw left handed so a bonus this wheel has that feature. Great review by the way.
Some Friends and me startet to do pottery a few weeks ago. We Built up a Room where everyone who is interested is free to join. As a Social Community project we can Not Afford everything at once which means we dont have enough Money to buy a Wheel. So we would be so happy to get this Weel to get further to our goal to create a Room where we can learn and do pottery together :) the First project would be some nice mugs for everyone, so we can enjoy some delicious tea while doing pottery!
I recently started wheel throwing and I would looove to make a teapot! And mugs, and bowls, and vases...
I have just started pottery and I absolutely love it! I started this pottery class last autumn and next week it's going to be the last lesson of this course. Now i'd like to continue this
amazing hobby by myself, because once in a week is way too seldom for me! Having my own wheel I would be able to practice as much as I like ( and that's a lot)❤
Love that you're sharing these reviews!! Honestly so helpful. I work from home and am a speech therapist to prek students - pottery is such a great outlet. Would love to be considered to make some gifts for some friends and family ❤
I just finished a class in pottery at my local college. The one thing I wanted to learn most was the pottery wheel and wouldn’t you know it the time it was being taught I was sick. I was so disappointed and I’ve been dreaming of throwing since. I have a prefect little spot in my studio and I’d love to make anything and everything. Wishing everyone the best😊
I would love to make a lamp just like the ones you have made in all of your work has inspired me to actually pursue ceramics and have fun hobbies. I just recently discovered.
It has always been my dream to make my own dishwear set. There's a specific glaze style that kind of looks like a galaxy that I can't find anywhere...so I'm going to have to make dishes with that myself!
