Eating at medium-priced restaurants, cafes and bars is a lot, lot cheaper in the UK than the USA. I'm English and I know that when I visit the United States you can either eat at fast-food places, which are cheap, or you can go to restaurants which are usually very expensive. There's hardly anything in between. Here in England I'm used to eating in places that are somewhere in the middle, not fast food but not super expensive either. Also tipping is only 10% here, or not tips at all in pubs, usually.

Omg, please don't cry dear. Everything will be alright, you have your entire life ahead of you. Learn to be your best friend, drink loads of water, nourish your body and mind, read comics or any books that stimulate you intellectually, meditate, write a journal about your shittiest most deepest feelings, and block out the screaming parents. Remember the path of their life is different from yours. Hope everything is fine by now. I love you, friend.
Here in the UK there are two types of tipping: either no tips at all in a lot of places like pubs, bars and cafes, or 10% in posh restaurants. There are a few places in London where they expect you to tip 12.5% but that's unusual. So you save a lot of money if you're used to tipping 20% in the United States or Canada. Don't worry about the staff at those places not getting paid properly: they get paid a lot better without gratuities than the same people would be in North America.
So what I've heard from you and my brother, who is studying in a city about an hour from home, it's actually really similar...Generally I am a person who pays attention to not to spend too much money and one to always take risks although it scares the shit out of me, so I feel prepared for that stuff...socializing with other students is more of a headache for me
In the video you said many times that you weren't ready, but isn't that part of growing up and leaving home? The people who have had great successes in the past all accomplished it by taking leaps and risks.
At British universities there are usually only two or three professors in each department. Only the top people in the department will be called Professor. Everyone else is a lecturer. I know that in North America there are lots of professors in each department.
We don't have good food? In London you can get food as good as almost anywhere else in the world, with the possible exception of New York City. It's true that the food in the UK used to be terrible until about 15 years ago, but it's changed a lot since then.
I love how Americans just assume they’re the only ones in the world. Like bruh you’re not the only people who want to travel why do you just assume it’s only Americans watching. No hate to you personally or anything, it’s just something that I’ve noticed sooo many Americans do.
Sorry, I guess it's the subconscious feeling of entitlement or something? Idk, ever since we were little many people around us drill into our heads that we are #1. But go to any small town in America, the people there are so friendly and down to earth. :) It's normally the bigger cities that have that mindset.
Crazy thing is that I’m watching these abroad videos yet I’m not even near to being in collage lol
Yea but you could do a student exchange year
i’m a student from New Jersey looking to apply to England for my undergrad- this was super interesting and helpful!! thank you:)

@@Yours_Truly_Rima Your comment is strange because it's not really applicable to what was said in the video.
@@TickleMeElmo55 I didn't respond to the video, I responded to a comment.
@@Yours_Truly_Rima I was too. I guess my finger accidentally tapped on yours instead.
