First discovered Modern Family back in July of 2021 and started watching this show seriously for the first time and so many things I love about it: 1. Comedy is consistent and not forced like other sitcoms like icarly or Victorious. 2. The show has diversity. The diversity of a usual American family, an interracial couple that have a large age gap, two homosexual couples who have an adopted Asian child. I LOVE IT!!! They didn’t use a black character as a means to show diversity because anytime people try diversity they always use a black person. They only use a black person for diversity because if the black character’s skin stands out, the audience will notice them. They think they are being diverse by using a black character but they ain’t fooling anyone. (And before you guys lose your shit, I’m black myself so calm the fuck down and I am entitled to my point.). 3. The kids are throughout the show are written as actual teens. Most shows I have seen have teens act rebellious for the sake of being rebellious while the teens in this show actually are more than rebellious; they have their own other problems. 4. This is a sitcom and THERE IS NO LAUGH TRACK!!! 😊 No laugh tracks to tell the audience when to laugh, be emotional, or feel sad. We can feel whenever we want on the show.
@@nav_2709 I don’t care. Those shows being for tweens or teens, it is no excuse that teen characters are so much the same and has comedy that is so forced. Modern family is funny not because it is for a different demographic. It is funny because it approaches comedy with subtle statements. While shows like icarly and victorious makes its comedy through forced material.
I have been asking myself the same question since I was 14: I can never understand a person’s stupid thrill to be drinking alcohol; especially teenagers my age that time.
@@francostevo9939 At that age you want to feel accepted by your peer group, so teens will make these kind of mistakes, especially if they have a difficult home life. Also, bad influenced from others. I say this as someone who had a brother who started drinking and getting into drugs in his late teens.
@@Unversed333 again, it ain’t an excuse. I said it before when I was 15 and I’ll say it again, doing things in hopes of having others like you is pathetic. I remember when I was a fish out of water in my school and the constant bullying and shaming, the only way to get out of that was to be like everyone else but I refuse to do to that. Changing myself and letting go of my self respect all because of having to be liked by others? That’s stupid. Becoming a teenager was the best thing that ever happened to me because at that time I grew common sense, developed skills and ideals, and started to get my life together despite my abuse at home. Doing idiotic things like this is hardly any excuse and to do it to feel liked by others is a low blow. Also, I said when I was 16 and will say it again right here right now: Doing this that would get our parents pissed at us? Do teens have a death wish?
@@francostevo9939 you're assuming that everyone is just like you. As Haley says in Alex's graduation episode, everybody has their stuff. Does it make it right for them to get drunk? No.
Whats so great about drinking like it makes your body heat up, you have to go alot to bathroom, you do many things say Many things with not control over it, next day morning full on headache and so much sensitivity to brightness and sounds, feeling sick just vomiting, you forget what happened when you were drunk the next morning when waking up. Thats what I see that apparently happens to those who drink in real life and in shows movies dramas like its not cool its not fun its just stupid and asking for trouble asking to suffer
Did you just learn what TV is, everything is exaggerated for comedic effect. Or if you’re talking about trip to Hawaii, the patriarch owns a successful company, of course he can afford a trip to Hawaii for the family.
I mean it's not Ibsen, but other than the acting it's a fine comedic representation of a wealthy but dysfunctional family. I have a dysfunctional large family and I find it relatable ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.
"Lily, where are you going?!" 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I love how casual Gloria is about Lily being in a lift on her own 😅

This is the funniest Jay-Phil interaction. Still never fails to make me laugh.
Does it happen every time you drink?
"Yes"
He says his wallet is in his front pocket but you can clearly see the wallet in his back pocket.

One can argue that victorious and iCarly are for tweens and teens whereas modern family is more of a mixed family show

I love how seven years later the family insists on taking Haley out on her 21st birthday for her "first drink." They were about ten years too late.

Not really unrealistic even if it's a show, like do you know everyone do you know every family out there in every country do you see them all
