SMOKE DETECTOR
Optical smoke detector is designed for detection of a visible smoke at a start of a fire's flame less stage when material starts to smoulder and therefore generally, a long time prior to the appearance of an open flame and a noticeable rise in temperature.
The smoke detectors use ionization and photoelectric technologies whereas a heat detector uses thermocouple and electro-pneumatic technologies. While the smoke detectors are very sensitive and are prone to give off false alarms. The heat detectors are more reliable fire detectors, even in dusty environments.

Why did you put resistor and what is the reason?

Putting end of line resister last smoke or heat detector and mcp , verify all devices properly working. In cases you remove any one device or cutting cable then panel is showing fault.
