Awesome, I love that Keep your Dreams cocktail mostly for it's crazy presentation, I always like seeing that cobbler-style drink. super fun. My personal favorites are probably "Across the Pacific", and "Fort York" cocktail, both excellent orgeat cocktails! Cheers, Rob!
I haven’t tried either of those! I’ll have to check them out!
I’m totally a sucker for cocktails with lavish presentation! Which is why tiki appeals so much! Haha
The only one I've never had was the second one, (Keep Your Dreams...) and I can say I've definitely enjoyed the other two. I think it's cool you didn't go the easy route and make a bunch of tiki drinks. Orgeat works well in traditional cocktails too.
Yea I specifically didn’t wanna just do a bunch of mai tai riffs or other tiki drinks! The Keep your dream a burning is really good! Needs a few tweaks but I just love those old school lavish drinks!
Always good to have ideas for using orgeat
I mean, we can’t ALWAYS be drinking Mai Tais right?
Hello Rob. My favorite cocktail that contains orgeat is the Saturn. Cheers🍹
Saturn is a great cocktail! I don’t make it often enough!
great choices!
Yes they were all quite enjoyable
Yes!!! I would have all of these delicious cocktails esp the first one!! Agreed - tone the Orgeat back slightly - like you I like less sweetness - but this beauty looks amazing! I'd love to have all of them!! You rock Rob!! Cheers!! 🙂
The sherry one was really good! Just needed a touch of lemon! Cheers!!
@@RobsHomeBar Yummm!! Exciting!! Cheers Rob!
This wasa good one and a great idea!! Always looking for ways to use up the Orgeat!
It’s definitely nice to have other options.. my orgeat uses are 95% mai tais! Haha
As much as I am NOT a tequila fan, I really liked the Infante. 2oz Blanco Tequila, 1oz Lime Juice, 0.75oz Orgeat, and 4 drops of Orange Blossom Water. Wet shake and strain into a rocks glass over a large block of ice and garnish with a dusting of Nutmeg.
I don’t think I’ve tried that one! Gonna have to do it
I'm writing that one down ! Thanks.
Nice! I do a cocktail that I didn't realize until just now is a riff on the Japanese Cocktail. I was calling it a "Dirty Blonde" though that is apparently also already a thing. (Nothing new under the sun, I guess.) I use Pistachio Orgeat (I add a few pinches of salt when I make it) with bourbon, ango & a lemon peel. Very nice with a spray of absinth in the glass, too.
Pistachio orgeat sounds awesome! I have pecan orgeat but haven’t used it much. I’m not fan of absinthe but a small spray does do wonders for cocktails! Cheers!
That “hmmm…” face you made for the Cameron’s Kick is exactly how I feel about the cocktail. It never really made sense to me
Yea.. it’s just a plain sour.. the orgeat isn’t adding much, and the scotch overpowers the Irish whiskey completely
The humuhumunukunukuapua'a. Best orgeat cocktail for me 🍹
I’ve only made it once! I should revisit! Cheers! 🥂
I love orgeat since I was a kid. In France it's a kid's drink, mixed with water or sprite or a mixer for pastis, a working class anis liquor. It's funny to me that it's so fancy in America.
That’s interesting! It’s definitely the Mai Tai that made it so popular and fancy in America
@@RobsHomeBar in France it's the mauresque and the diabolo d'orgeat. You can substitute the orgeat for grenadine and you have a tomate or a diabolo grenadine. The most affordable drinks in a bistrot.
I don't have a name for it, but I like subbing the coconut cream/syrup with orgeat in a pina-colada-esque drink...Or sometimes adding a bit of orgeat to regular pina colada...Note that make shaken pina coladas, not blended...
There’s actually a drink I made a while ago called Coco No Coco and it was invented by a bartender who wanted a pina colada substitute because their cream of coconut would go bad so quickly.. it uses orgeat and heavy cream to sub.. and it works quite well!
@@RobsHomeBar Not a big fan of creams in my drinks, usually, but I may give that a try!
Nutastic Rob 🌰 🌰 🌰
Haha Cheers! 🌰
Ooo! And guess what I just made a batch of! Orgeat!
Sweet! Hope you give some of these a try! Cheers!
@@RobsHomeBar I'll try the Japanese for sure!
