Thanks a lot for the video. I tested the element with the multi meter, found the heating element was bad, ordered the part and got it back up and running. I appreciate the help!
I’ve been working on these for 30 years. Just some advice. Pull the dryer forward, and tip the machine back against the wall, and you can easily get your hands in there without using extensions, etc. Hope this helps.
Spot on! TY for the information. FWIW the residential Speed Queen dryer is identical to the commercial unit you just showed. Bonus that all the work can be done from the front with ease. Ordering new coil through your link now!
Thank you for this video. I have a SDET07 dryer with no heat. Tested element, thermostat and fuse. All *beep* continuity. Plugged dryer back in and started a high-heat cycle. Carefully reached back to element to test voltage - nothing. Any suggestions how to trace this issue? The controller board up top seems to have 240 going to it. Are there test points to see where power flows down to element?
No. Research found the controller was like $600+ (Ouch). Follow the power wires from element up to control board. Just put in another dryer. I didn't want to spend a lot of time on it as this is commercial income property. I'm sure it is in the controller. Maybe relay or something. Hard to fix. Easy to replace controller but expensive. Easier to replace entire dryer. Good luck@@archer7831
I got you covered my friend! That’s all I look for when I’m trying to figure something out. It’s better to know what your problem is by diagnosing it. Guessing is just a waste of money. You can get lucky but you don’t learn anything. Thanks for the comment. I’m trying to keep on a schedule to bring one a week for you’ll. If I ever find more time and motivation I’ll pop out some more for ya. Comments like these keep me going so thanks again for sharing!
Mine has heat just not great heat delicate and normal are the exact same amount of heat for whatever reason rate from the get go when I bought this thing Brand New does that sound normal?
Hey man I do maintenance for an assisted living place and one of our speed queen dryers keeps cutting out but only in the times dry setting. The other drying functions work normally. Any ideas what to troubleshoot? I checked the belt and drum they are good and spin so I didn’t break the belt. Any tips would be great thanks
Hi. Where should I have look in case if speedqueen commercial dryer does not see coins? I went the same route....when control board jumped it sees that...so what should be?
Thanks for these great videos. I wonder what year this unit was produced? I'm looking at buying a set with this one having the Model # sdet07wf which is identical to the one in this video. Even if I never hear back, thanks for making great repair videos.
I like your video. I have a Speed Queen coin Dryer (gas) that runs for about 20 minutes and then suddenly stops working. At first it works fine, but then it stops spinning and heating and there is only a green light on. Any help on this issue is much appreciated! Thank you!
How about the element? Does that look good? I would also check to make sure you have good power. 240vac is used to run the dryer and the heat. That is 2 legs of 120vac. One leg could be missing. Make sure there is good power from the wall.
I had a Roper machine that took a few cycles to dry clothes. Check fuse, thermostats, continuity on heating element(should have done visual check) clean out the vent duct on the machine. However it seems that highest temp I can achieve was 111 degrees Fahrenheit. I ran out of time troubleshooting. Any thoughts on what it could be? It’s in an apt so cleaning the ventilation would be a challenge. My resistance measurements check out except at the timer which I feel may be the issue
Cycling thermostat? I have only replaced one but it was obviously bad. The temps may be off due to that. I want to say temps should be around 130-140 in dryers on high heat. If you had restricted ducts I would believe the temps would be high. Cycling t-stat is what pops up in my head. Great info! It’s either that or a restricted ducting. We don’t clean out ducts over here. We have a guy in town who specializes in them. We refer those customers to him.
Is the cycling thermostat the one up towards front of the machine? I have this machine at my hotel sometimes it gets hot most of the time it doesn’t. Heating element timer thermostats and fuses all read good except the one in the front that screws into the duct work with four prongs on it. (Blue orange black & white)
Make sure you have 240vac at the plug. If you don’t than it’s some sort of power supply problem. I’m going to have to make a video on what to do if you have good power at the wall but still not heating after checking the element and t-stats.

@Bearded Appliance Repair Thanks for the video! If the heating element coil part is bad will it be very obvious?
Thank you this! Walked me right thru the issue!

Having the exact same issue. Did you ever resolve yours?

Same issue. Did you fix yours?
can you adjust the temperature ? or is it doesn't have any adjustments?
I did the element test all works fine. My problem is the start button stays on and give free drying time. ANY suggestions?
Good shit Beard, keep bringing the diagnosis parts. We like that

What's the temp of the heat in the dryer drum
Thank you for your videos. Like the topics and calls.
You’re welcome Ray Ray just posted a poll to see who all is subscribed. Be sure to select one. It will help with my ideas on future videos!

Did you ever figure out what was wrong?
Thank you very useful
I can't hear your descriptions of your work after the first minute. The music starts playing and no sound from you. Help?
watch longer. that's just the intro
I have a speed queen dryer, heating element not heating the element and all the thermostats check out fine.
Can you tell me what I'm missing here?

Thank you for your reply the machine belongs to a friend I’ll look into replacing the cycling thermostat and see what happens

Good video
What if all the heating elements work properly but still won’t get any heating, what would be the next things to check?
Make sure you have 240vac at the plug. If you don’t than it’s some sort of power supply problem. I’m going to have to make a video on what to do if you have good power at the wall but still not heating after checking the element and t-stats.
Was there ever a video for this. I have good power at the wall but no power from thea machine getting to the element.
You do know it’s really not the same! The commercial unit uses a higher wattage heating element among other things. Etc.
Why is this video all music?!
Can’t hear anything you say after the first minute, music cuts you off.
i hear music and see his mouth moving....can't hear a thing he's saying....
cannot hear anything other than dramatic music
