Welcome to episode 5 of the looking back series at TSW DLC's. In this one we are looking back at the London Commuter or Brighton Mainline, and taking a run in the Class 387 between London Victoria and Gatwick in the Gatwick Express!

Best route in TSW, hands down
I love this route, one of my top 3 UK routes along with Southeastern Highspeed and Blackpool Branches
The London to Brighton route is a great route I took a class 40 and stock on a rail tour and boy the sound from opening up the class 40 was knockout. Mind you the class 37 is better when you are belting down the line.
I don’t know who I’m even pretending to convince any more. You know I’ll buy UK addons, I know I will, DTG know I will. And so do Just Trains
Thats what it does mate, it hooks you in good and proper, then they stick a fork in you when you are done! lol
nice video tin tin. im in the same frame of mind as you concerning the GSMR, it would make the train more realistic.
This route has a whole load of layers the line becomes lively
G’day TinTin, I’m a new subscriber and I’m absolutely loving these videos. I love driving the 387 myself and I’ve invested a lot of money in TSW, absolutely love it!
Though, I’d love if they did an Aussie route or two, that would be cool.
I love what they’ve done with the Battersea Power Station in real life and that they’ve preserved the inner control room of the station amongst other things with the new housing and shopping precinct that is now there.
My dream has always to visit England, particularly Cornwall, parts of Scotland and Wales too where the bulk of my family ancestry is from.
My ancestors worked predominantly in the mines around Moonta and Burra in our home state of South Australia shortly after arriving from the old country in late 19th century and early 20th century.
We’ve got a particularly strong Cornish history in SA and one that I’m proud to be apart of.
Visiting all the preserved railways is the top of my list when we eventually visit in the near future. Admittedly, I’d have to settle on a small number because they’re so many lol. I’m a huge Great Western fan and to see GWR steam in the game would be lovely. I think if they spent more time on steam over a couple of years of development and not rush it, I think the route would sell like hotcakes.
I appreciate the work that goes into something like this, and I’d prefer to wait years on end for a steam route or two to be brought to the game. The game has huge potential. I miss TSC with a passion because of the immense selection of steam content including GWR stuff but unfortunately I don’t have the hardware to run it.
What I do have is an Xbox Series X and I absolutely loved when steam came to console. Admittedly, there were many teething problems as with everything but to move away entirely from steam is not the way to go in my opinion.
I’ve seen videos be minding to the fact the last steam route did not make the money as intended which I felt a little sad for to be perfectly frank with you.
If a steam route was a long term project over many months and years as I said previously, and every problem was ironed out in such a way that it would be near perfect on release with many different steam locomotives and pieces of rolling stock then I would be like many others lining up to get it.
But yes, I’d love if steam came back and even on a route like this with a Merchant Navy add on with Pullman Coaches, that would be fantastic!!!

not played the TSW version of this route but remember it being a favourite of mine back in the train sim classic days.

I live in Brighton, recently I got the train to Victoria (it’s been a while) but noticed you can no longer or easily see Battersea power station with all the new apartment developments
@@alaister1 that’s a shame. It’s been a long time since I last went past it on the train. Very iconic and glad they kept the building
Hi mate, this is a great route and one that I need to revisit . I have it on pc and PS5 , on the pc I play with a mixture of mouse, raildriver and xbox controller. I've recently discovered some different camera modes when using the xbox controller, hold down right stick and right press the D pad, one of the modes it shows the train heading off into the distance leaving you static, you can then drone the camera around and if you do it near a station you can fly around to see the name of the place, just adds to the fun. For me the BML is my route with the highest mileage (I am planning on getting Blackpool on the winter sale if it has a good sale)
This is my number one route. I live near Balham so it is very accurate. I only wish the class 700 layered in. Even if it was just AI.

I have mentioned it to him but he said he would look into it. He is struggling with the sand patch grade he sent me another text saying he was going up the gradient when the coal train started slipping he finished up where he started from in the loop.
Do yk what routes the GWR class 166 runs on this route
Cant remember off hand but they are short services of like 15-20 mins because they carry on somewhere off this route
Tintin I would say you have come a long way since I watched you playing the christmas mission in call of duty vanguard because you mentioned that you had got 450 subscribes now look at you well over 10,000. I would say you are a favourite with us tsw5 players. 😊😊😊

I didn't know you was in to call of duty. I liked playing the old call of duty but the new ones I struggle with them. I can't fly the plane in one of the missions in MW I always crash the plane so I gave up on playing call of duty, but I have other issues with the game.

That's the best way to get them wait for the sales to come up. I had a modeller railway magazine given to me, god the prices of the locos £145 for the flying scotsman loco, i will stick with tsw5 it's cheaper to buy.

Hello tintin good morning to you. I showed my neighbour the tsw5 and he went out and bought a ps5. I gave him a call yesterday got no answer but got a text message from him saying can't talk now as I am on the sand patch grade trying to control the coal train but I am losing it.😊
