Another tip to fill a over size hole, taught to me by my carpenter father, is to fill the hole with wood glue and then stuff as many toothpicks in as will fit. Let dry and cut or break or sand off any excess at the top. The result is stronger than the original wood was.
I think just removing the center iron from the table and keeping the original legs would have updated the piece. Doing aged effect on the legs, and doing an aged wood color. Modern rustic, goes with many styles. The wooden legs look a bit dated. You do beautiful work. Love your videos. 👍😁
It makes me happy to see so many content creators discovering Blue Bear...that stuff is da bomb...hardly any smell so can use indoors, & so effective. Loved this piece!
Personally I would have spray painted the metal base black and not added the wood legs. Having said that, it would be cool to use that base as a garden bench.
Incredible transformation. It looks so much better. I agree with all the steps you chose. Also I learned something about applying stain so that it absorbs better.
That stripper was awesome! Thank you so much for showing just how you get a great finish with the stain. I have a table I've wanted to redo for years, and now feel I'm up for the challenge 😊.
Love this!! Learned that surf prep has a round sponge type thing that I can attach to my orbital sander!!! Yay!! I’m a gardener so I’d make a box (inverted coffee table) with slats for bottom (for drainage) line with black liner, poke holes int black liner (between slats, then plant succulents with recipe for succulent dirt!! Store bought is not that great. Of course do all the sanding and stuff!! Use outdoor spray paint that’s used for outdoor equipment-forget the name-ugh. As far as legs! I’d use Dixie Belles patina paints to make rusty crusty!! Then plant!! Can decorate with marbles, pine cones, rocks, plastic animals, etc!!!
Beautiful results, thank you. Question: would a second coat of the stripper be easier than sanding the remaining stain/varnish down? or would that have been too messy and not worth it? thank you
I think the legs would make a great vanity stool! The sides would make an awesome piece to a headboard/footboard or daybed arms! Question? How often do you find the underside of tables or the backs of dressers stained to match the flip? Just curious- I like to flip/remodel etc for myself but have noticed on flip videos the drawers, backs or underneath of items typically aren’t done. Thanks & I absolutely LOVE the new table!!!!
Thanks for sharing, you gave me a great idea on what to do with an outdated coffee table that I bought in FBMP for only 20 dollars. The base is very similar to the one you worked on in this video, so that means I will be making a trip to Home Depot very soon 😅
would have seen you to shine the wrought iron and put it back on that table...really don't like the wooden legs...look like old fashion shaker table...still looks okay but wrought iron brings elegance...
If the bolt in the legs wasn't the same size as the holes in the base, why didn't you just fill the holes in the base with the epoxy filler and then drill the correct size ?
The table top had threaded inserts in the hole, so I would have had to pry those out to be able to fill and redrill. That seemed harder than replacing the bolts, so I went that route, but you could definitely do either.
You need to find a metal worker so the table could be combined. A mix of wood and metal would be awesome with a nod of preserving the originality of the piece.
I would add boards to the to of the metal legs and side pieces to make shelves, paint the metal copper and use them in a French kitchen

My daddy taught me that trick a few years ago. Love it!
I loved the iron. Sorry.
No worries. Thanks for watching.
You can also use baking soda and super glue to fill the screw hole. Once it hardens, it is hard as a rock allowing you to drill into the area.
I actually liked the metal base lol spray paint it gold would of been beautiful
I like the metal too!
Same here. The metal was gorgeous!

The wooden legs look a bit dated.
You do beautiful work.
Love your videos. 👍😁
I have this set of tables. I love them.
It's cute, but I wish you could have have used the old curvy iron somehow!!!
I'd use the metal pieces for a flower garden low fence edging
I liked the metal base
Holy before & after Batman!!! Love it.
Thanks friend! I really like this one.
Christina, you always knock it out of the park with your furniture makeovers! Beautiful job, stunning transformation. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much!
Your style and techniques give the furniture an updated look. Beautiful 😊❤
This flip was satisfying from beginning to end! 1000x better! Awesome job! ❤
Yay! Thank you!
Great makeover! Thanks for this accessible tutorial. Would the side panels of the old base work for outdoor plant hangers/racks?
I liked both designs , but the process of stripping a piece of furniture and making it your own is so worth it and it looks amazing. Big fan
Base might be good to build a sunken “coffee table” for outdoors with plants potted into the top. Kind of like a raised flower bed.
Use the two footed scrolls to make an exterior bench fit to their size - with a concrete finish on the bench
It makes me happy to see so many content creators discovering Blue Bear...that stuff is da bomb...hardly any smell so can use indoors, & so effective. Loved this piece!
It's so good!
The metal looks like it could be a cute decorative element on a headboard.
Personally I would have spray painted the metal base black and not added the wood legs. Having said that, it would be cool to use that base as a garden bench.
Love the updated look. The metal was too ornate for casual spaces. Great choices!
Great transformation, Christina.
Beautiful finish!
Thank you!
Great results!
I think I could make something funky with those old legs and new table top.
It turned out absolutely beautiful I wish I had your talent❤
Why didn't you just put the screw in while the putty was still soft? No drilling necessary.
It turned out beautiful by the way.
Incredible transformation. It looks so much better. I agree with all the steps you chose. Also I learned something about applying stain so that it absorbs better.
Love this transformation. Very nice job.

Yes!!! That is what I love to hear.
I think that you could make a lovely garden bench from the old legs. It would look good with a painted finish, say verdigris or rusty-look.
Wow! An amazing transformation!
You can use the base for shelves or risers, and decorative pieces on old salvage.
So many uses.😁
Great color choice.
Thank you!

So when will the wood grain pop up?
Looks better already
So so pretty!
100 x better!
Much better!
That looks so good!
Lovely table. I was thinking that the metal would look nice as wall decor. Put on the wall with photo frames around it or landscape pictures.
I had that exact table! Dang! Should’ve kept it!!
your videos are super! I would use the metal bases in a Country French kitchen with copper paint!
Love the finish
Beautiful results, thank you. Question: would a second coat of the stripper be easier than sanding the remaining stain/varnish down? or would that have been too messy and not worth it? thank you
Another successful project! What a great update.
Thanks so much!
Gorgeous
What an amazing transformation! It’s beautiful!
Thank you so much!

LOVE it!
Maybe a bench are something like that for outdoor decor . Btw your work is beautiful
Wow, what a difference!
Thanks, Dar. Missed you on the premiere today!
That’s so much better!
I think so, too!
You can add wood scraps to the old pieces and make shelves.
Great suggestion!
That’s exactly what I was thinking.
Came out great! Love the finish!
Thank you!
How much of the stain bottle do you think you used on this product? I am surprised at how little I use when I refinish a table/end table.
Thanks for sharing, you gave me a great idea on what to do with an outdated coffee table that I bought in FBMP for only 20 dollars. The base is very similar to the one you worked on in this video, so that means I will be making a trip to Home Depot very soon 😅
I had that exact same table, but it was a side table!
Oh it came out nice 👍❤️🌹
Good job!!!😊🎉❤
Nice update! I'm doing something similar with my outdated maple coffee table. Question: why use chemical stripper instead of a carbide scraper?
Love it!🥰
Looks updated now
would have seen you to shine the wrought iron and put it back on that table...really don't like the wooden legs...look like old fashion shaker table...still looks okay but wrought iron brings elegance...
No worries. Thanks for watching.
I truly agree with you, but it might not be her decor style.
I concur with you. I like the metal base.
Use the metal pieces for a window garden box!

Nice Job!!!
Questions: Where Did You Buy Your Mask? What's The Name Of The Stripper And Where Did You Buy It?
TYIA!!!
😍🙂
Click on the ‘more’ in the description box and scroll down until you see all the products used. The paint stripper link is there.
I forgot the mask! I'll add it. You can always find the products in the description box.
Could join the pair of legs together and make a pot plant stand.
You need to find a metal worker so the table could be combined. A mix of wood and metal would be awesome with a nod of preserving the originality of the piece.
Personally I would have kept the rod iron legs ( maybe even rust them) and just done the top as you did.
Really good job. I hated that iron base
Great job !!! ; )
Beautiful flip. Love the update with the wood legs. (note: sorry, not a fan of the background music)
Nice.
Thanks!
An afterthought 🤦♀️ if you do use the legs for a vanity stool…the sides could be used for the vanity mirror 😉
I live in West Tennessee.
I like the metal better
No worries. Thanks for watching.
get video...i have a similar project ahead of me...thank you...nice job
Cool, thanks
Из такого красивого столика сделала обыкновенный..
Жаль
❤
Planter box
It’s a no for me…..like the previous one better
A dog bed for a big bog
Wow, original was better for me. I actually clicked as I could not believe the makeover was to change the original legs…
Sorry, but don't like the finished table. Original was nicer looking. Maybe should have kept the metal.
Gosh, removing that iron was a crime, especially because those pre-made legs are so basic. Eeek. I usually love your flips, but not this.
That stripper 😮
You just destroyed a beautiful antique piece and turned it into a boring white board. 100% dislike.
Beautiful transformation!
