      The Hamas attack happened because they LET it happen.
      Nothing gets past the Israeli military intelligence. Nothing.
      It's a land grab and ethnic cleansing by Israel.
      Q: "What will you do if they say you're conquering again?"
      Netanyahu: "America can be easily moved in the right direction..."
      Yep, the US public opinion is easily manipulated to hide the atrocies of the Isreali military Palestinian destruction and genocide.

      Jim can talk about Dollar and Gold. But lets be honest he just butchered the whole history of this conflict. This starred way before Oct. 7. And he pretends to not even care about the truth. Just being bias and one sided the whole time. What is he afraid of?

      Rickards Books do reveal some of the economic implications of what has led the USA to this point.
      He seems to skip over the exploitation that the Military threats appeared to produce.
      As the World's Producer Nations seem to be moving behind a BRICS Wall, the ability to produce the flow of profits that supported the lifestyle the US has enjoyed at other Nations cost, the effects of the exploitation diminishing to a point where the USA no longer can afford to support the military threats, seems to have arrived?
      The end of Empire was not revealed to the Roman Empire by Internet information.
      The British Empire fading from view was illuminated by Television.
      The end of Empire always appears to be difficult for the Wealthy to digest.
      The Poor are already prepared.....

    This ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict has about 51% of traders thinking it's a good time to invest in stocks, mutual funds, and other equity-based investments, despite Treasury yields and other safer cash-like investments paying big. I’m thinking of investing $400k into my stock portfolio but unsure about it

    • @Theresaa12
      @Theresaa12 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That's up noticeably from 41% in the second quarter again, despite shaky-looking markets in September. My advice is : Read some good books on investing, or just you get yourself a financiaI-advsor that can provide you with entry and exit points on the shares/ETF you focus on.

      Speaking with a consultant helped me stay afloat in the market and grow my $430K portfolio to about 65% since January, and in just a few months, I was able to earn over $950K in net profit from high dividend yielding stocks, ETFs, and bonds. If you're uncertain about the market, you should speak with an advisor.

    Not true Jim - Hamas primary targets were military depots and barracks. They captured 2 generals and killed 4, along with an assortment of lesser officers and IDF soldiers and carried weapons and ammo from the depots back to GAZA. Israel has an official policy known as the "Hannibal Directive" which prohibits the army from allowing hostages to be taken; hostages are to be killed along with their captors if necessary - no more prisoner exchanges. Israelis attacked civilian homes with tank and mortar fire in order to kill resistance fighters and prevent the taking of hostages - this was the source of "burned bodies" and many of the casualties.

    Jim Rickards, I appreciate your fair description of the unhuman events on October 7th.
    My hope is that the future will bring days of peace, calm, and prosperity.
    I knew that you are an economic expert, but your knowledge and understanding of Israel's political/military situation is very impressive.
    Regarding the global economy, the situation has been fragile for many years, and in practice, the problems were not resolved after the Dotcom bubble burst; they simply received temporary relief that postponed the reckoning.
    In my opinion, Israel and Iran (including Hezbollah and Hamas) are not capable of causing a global crisis. But currently, even a relatively 'small' economic event can trigger a chain reaction leading to a global crisis.
    Thank you and may God bless all of you.

      I agree that the risk from Hezbollah and Iran are overstated when it comes to a major confrontation with Israel is concerned, but I’m afraid I give your hope for peace, etc., zero chance of success - experience alone suggests the opposite: an ever-increasing incidence of conflicts of ever-increasing severity until there really IS a war of Biblical proportions originating in this age old dispute. I’m sorry to be such a downer, but any alternative seems ridiculously unlikely.

    The only Jewish state in the world has a tiny sliver of land. They should not give up one inch of it. Arabs and Muslims have huge territories and many, many nations. People that are not 100% against Hamas and radical militant Islamic terrorists really have a problem. They need to look inward and figure out if there is a racist problem they need to address. Many Arabs live peacefully within Israel. How many Jews are living in Saudi Arabia and Iran? Almost zero. Israel is the most open and liberal (in the classical sense) nation in the Middle East. Many of the Arab nations will not allow in an Israeli passport. So who is the radical???

I think it’d be interesting if you talk with Jim about who will be the super power (in terms of global currency, economy etc) in the next 30 years. Or What would the world be like if the US is not protecting the world anymore? From my perspective, I can’t imagine a world where China or Russia or Iran or any other powerful countries is taking leadership in the world. I think the world would be in a disastrous situation without the US keeping everyone in check. After all, those leaders can’t even communicate to ordinary world citizens in simple English! How can they keep the world safe? Looking forward to this kind of conversation with Jim.

  • @akesha4138
    @akesha4138 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    This current war is a pre-planned event with a schedule. Hezbollah's role is to attack from the north about 1 to 2 months in so it may be soon. The plan is to go long oil and temporarily short stocks the day of the new invasion. ( They will place the orders just prior to the new invasion to make it "seem" like they were only making a calculated bet when they knew well in advance the actual day and starting time.) From there the new invasion will stall so that this war can be prolonged. There cannot be a short war like in the past, that will not suit the defense contractors. It does however suit the US government who wants to put off a larger economic crash always by excess spending and raising the national debt. Expect the national debt to reach 40 trillion faster than you would have thought possible.

    Hamas didn't go in to kill civilians, they ended up at a rave that was being held at a Kibbutz, and most, if not all, that were killed were IDF soldiers outside uniform who were caught in a crossfire between Hamas and uniformed IDF soldiers.

    • @bassmanjr100
      @bassmanjr100 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PuchiBBecause they are militant and radical. They will try to take over their relatively peaceful countries as well. This is the issue that most people don't understand. The many neighboring Arab/Muslim countries do not want these people either. The Palestinians hate the Jews but they also have no tolerance for other Arab countries that will not immediately invade and try into run Israel to the sea 1948 and 1967 style. Many 'big hearted' leftists have a soft spot for the Palestinians and look at them as an underdog. However, there are many Arab and Muslim countries and one one tiny Jewish state. A people given a small sliver of land in 1948 after they nearly faced extinction with over 6 million dead during holocaust. To put it in perspective there are only about 10-15 million Jews in the world today. Many leftists have it completely backwards.

      You got it completely wrong here. Muslim everywhere regardless of sect are rising up against Israel. They see Palestine as land that belongs to the Palestinian, and no party has the right to evict the Palestinian and grab their land. Israel may not exist when the dust settles.

    Why didn't Jim give the context of the illegal occupation? which is why Hamas is resisting and the BBC refuses to call them terrorists.
    Palestinian centuries-old ancestral land is and has been illegally occupied since 1948. The Israeli government has been oppressing the Palestinians keeping them under inhumane conditions for decades.
    How was Israel created? Jim give the full picture please and give a balanced opinion.

    The probability of escalation with zealots is high. Zealots lack self control due to past violent history and a religious movement opposed to the Jewish people. This is a bad combination.

    Big fan of Rickards, but not good commentary here -- total boomer on Israel. No context about Netanyahu supporting Hamas for 10+ years hoping to trigger a big event. So Rickards went there and hung out with the IDF /CIA and thinks he got the real story? loll!! I lived there as a normal human being, and was shocked at how the Palestinians were treated. It's apartheid. He obviously doesn't understand the region well (in contrast, he understands Ukraine VERY well) -- and is trying to catch up with events, but doesn't have good sources in regards to Israel. He also blatantly mis-represented Hamas attacks in that they absolutely did target IDF bases and soldiers; this was documented immediately through assorted videos on Telegram and other platforms. A lot of civilians were killed, but it's unclear to what degree they were actually the focus of attacks, other than taking hostages. Some eyewitnesses say soldiers got mixed into crowd at music festival and to some degree were almost hiding behind them. And much of the initial footage about killing civilians ended up being propaganda ("beheaded babies", etc.). He talks about rape and torture, but there now appears to be no good evidence for this, and he should know better than to say this. Also, many kibbutzniks are reservists with guns, and some were shooting back from defensive positions -- I lived on a kibbutz and they are not hippy communes at all. Also, one of elderly hostages they released immediately said she was treated well, and the media ignored this and tried to downplay it. The Hamas guys are no angels, and they killed LOTS of ppl, but to say they were exclusively focused on killing civilians is simply not true and mis-represents what happened. I like Rickards-- such a bright guy -- but he went way out of his lane here and sounds like an ignorant jackass to anyone who's lived in Israel.

    “any high-tech obstacle has a low tech solution“
    Never in the history of warfare has technology alone brought victory. Our recency bias, especially in light of the Persian Gulf war, tends to lead Americans and other westerners to believe that with technology a military can be unbeatable. This has never been the case, and this will never be the case. In the Persian Gulf war for example, the decisive victory of the United States had more to do with extremely poor tactics, strategy, leader ship, and moral of the Iraqi military. Also They had no air defense assets. There were plenty of great soviet air defense systems they could’ve bought but they didn’t need them, because they had spent the previous 10 years fighting Iran in a brutal war.
    The Spanish couldn’t have beaten the natives like they did, perhaps at all, in the New World if not for smallpox and the fact that the Inca and Aztec empires both had lots of regional rivals that were willing to work with the Spanish to defeat their nemesis.
    Germany had the most advanced technology in World War II, Japan had the best fighter aircraft platform of World War II, and we saw what happened there.
    This misconception is so pervasive that even professionals whose business it is to prosecute warfare fall into the trap of believing that a technology advantage is all they need. We see that with Israel, and soon we will see that with United States. With the United States, we have already seen indications that our wonder weapons are overhyped in Ukraine.
    What matters in warfare more than anything else is leadership. Everything else flows from good leadership. The United States could not win a war against a peer power right now because the leader ship is terrible. And that terrible leadership is a reflection of the broader population That has had it too good for too long is that it stopped caring about how their society has run and who runs it..
