Excellent presentation with high quality content. Just another day for the Davis Phinney Parkinson’s Podcast team!

Have had the swallowing trouble for many, many, many years. Am the slowest eater of my friends and family. It doesn't even take eating for me to aspirate though. Wake myself up spastically coughing trying to clear my lungs. It seems like it is better after randomly singing though,if something I like just is playing, which eventually straightens out my breathing, if I don't think too much about any of it. I try to set alarms for myself to cue me to
just turn on something to just move, or learn all the words to something, that I don't know the words to yet, where music will naturally happen. Make a new playlist. I have several playlists for if I'm not thinking yet. Anyway the takeaway for me here is it will help with controlling the aspirating out of nowhere coughing till I pass out, interference days of several episodes of that. Thanks!

I have that constant focus in my chest and only feel it when I eat 🤔
