I am nearing my 68th birthday and have listened to this song along with other old songs since I was 7 years old. I am Tamil-speaking but have a great taste for Hindi music and songs, especially those of the late 1940 - 1960 era. This kind of composition and song transports me to my childhood days. The song calms the mind and soul. What a magic!
These golden Hindi songs were my companion during my teenage in 1960s and never expected then that these songs can be heard even now because of internet. None of the present Hindi movie songs can match the old Hindi movie songs.

Used to buy the Gaana kitab for one anna from outside the film talkie and learn and sing all the songs. Lata's another song which was popular at the same time was a song from Badal,Duniya badal rehi hai aansoon bahanaywalay!

Even today men would not like their wife to sing love songs to a former lover in presence of guests. Ridiculous plot.

It also said for this movie that once this memorable song is over, all the people from audience left the theater. They just wanted to see this song only. A beautiful song penned down by Sh Santoshi Sahib and well composed by C Ramchanderan. Lataji has sung it nicely. The video does not give that feel which we usually get while listening to its audio on Vividh Bharti at 10pm when it really touches your heart and soul. This is my personal observation pl dont get annoyed Mastkalandr you are so sweet.

This song is very emotional as well as beautiful song rendered by Lataji, and unforgettable music of C. Ramchandra. I like this song but some how the movie was super flop. It also said for this movie that once this memorable song is over, all the people from audience left the theater. They just wanted to see this song only. (Of course this movie was released much earlier than I was born).

A beautiful song penned down by Sh Santoshi Sahib and well composed by C Ramchanderan. Lataji has sung it nicely. The video does not give that feel which we usually get while listening to its audio on Vividh Bharti at 10pm when it really touches your heart and soul.
