Dan just goes on this show to get picked on it’s hilarious 😂
Imagine having the knowledge he does and Boston Conor/Pat are "intelligently just spitting whatever the national narrative is at the time back at you." you try to talk stats/knowledge of the game and the boys are instantly overwhelmed and start struggling to make it a viral clip. love the show but his friends are all obviously just "informative comedy". And Pat is "slowly" becoming just as out of touch. "I mean Poyer's gone, is Mycah gonna come back? they've already lost Tre White". can he not at least follow current AFC East signings? Poyer to Miami, Mycah is 100% confirmed not coming back as an aging S in a deep FA S pool. Tre White tore his Achilles in October after tearing his ACL less than 2 seasons ago and BUF has been moved on since Thanksgiving last year lol. Drafted a 2nd rd safety and supplanted the old guard w Rasual Douglas, Cam Lewis, T-Rapp and anyone whom made an impact last fall
lmao they'll never let dan live down the brock purdy shade
@@jaybizzalThey should he’s insanely average
@@ldotgdot344To be fair, this show started as a regular ass podcast. ESPN is the one who hired them to actually cover sports on their network. It used to just feel like a group of friends joking about football. Now they're just blending in with all the other daytime sports news coverage.
Gotta love Dan’s confused look whenever he is thinking
“Herbert and stroud are top 5 qbs, but I wouldn’t put them before any of the top 5 on this list” lol so they aren’t a top 5 then.
yeah that was a ridiculous statement… if you put one in you have to take one out. Lamar is a 2 time MVP, Burrow, Allen, and Mahomes are locks… imo I’d put Rodgers or Stafford at 5 since… Herbert can’t win, Stroud only 1 year, Goff & Dak look better then they are cause of their line & defense.
@@SamuraiDynastyFantasy It's also a completely form based argument, If rogers looks like how he looked 2020 or 2021 he can easily go higher than 8
How is cj and Herbert top 5 tf u smoking
Simple science brother
You're crazy af lmao
No way they're top 5
Next year it's just going to show why they're not top QBs. Stroud had "one" good year as a rookie, now let's see you do it again !
They really need to move to a tier list and not numbered rankings
Aka FTF is better show
that’s literally what Dan is implying too
Lol Nick's tiers
having half the league of starters on a "top 10 qb's" list is the laziest offseason banter lol
Take Herbert Off 😂
@@zacharyharkness8780your trippin his talent speaks for itself
"We asked NFL execs, scouts and coaches to count to 10 and they counted to 16"
It's because you can still be a good QB in a crap team or poor situation. If your criteria is you rank best qb in order the teams finished, that's not truly reflective
@Runitup2k no it doesn't? One playoff win in 5 years? 4 years? It doesn't "speak" anything. They used to say the same thing about rivers and his talent. Look where his career ended up. Good but not sucked on by the Herbert truthers
If Dan O has 8 guys in his top 5 then I think maybe he doesn't understand what top 5 is lmfao. That said I get his point is it should be more about tiering than an arbitrary top X number.
Why would we listen to half of the leagues executives?!? Their teams stink because they are bad at recognizing talent and ability
I was thinking the same thing. 😂. And not to mention they don’t watch film on ever QB. The Chiefs defensive coordinator even said he didn’t know Brock Purdy could run until before the Super Bowl. Lol
@@doctorbashir3497 why would we listen to you?
@@connieq2811 I didn’t give advice or rank anyone.
I just said half the league has proven they are bad at picking talent. This is unarguably statistically true.
Obviously these executives have some knowledge about the game and QBs, and it’s all opinionated at the end of the day.
Anybody can talk about or have their own rankings in football, no matter how much experience they have. It’s all just sports talk. People have to stop feeling offended over someone’s opinion.
Also, it’s a franchised league with a hard salary cap. Of course half of the teams will fall below average. Duh
@@Tomyohann but also when doing this a lot of them probably don’t watch much film on other players in the league as well unless they’re about to play them. To be fair
“The way we talk about QBs is awful.” Sorry, but when you soak up 15% to 25% of the cap space, you’re going to take a lot of the blame. Even if for no other reason than the fact that your contract forces the team to settle for lesser talent at other positions.
Exactly if your gonna play the most important position and be by far most paid you don’t get to pass the blame especially when qbs are given top dollar contracts after not proving anything yet
What that doesn't factor into the equation is a head coach wasting a QB's rookie years when his price is near nothing to the team !
Lookin' at you, Harbaugh !
This is part of why I don't understand Dak being so high up on these leaderboards. The dude is getting $40mil a year and he has *consistently* choked in the biggest games. If he wasn't soaking up 15% of the salary cap, maybe the team could've kept a lot of the talent they've had to cut over the last few years. The man threw 2 horrendous picks and couldn't do anything against the Packers, an offensive-focused 8 seed that barely snuck into the playoffs, but we're supposed to come back this year and act like he's better than kirk cousins, trevor lawrence, jalen hurts, brock purdy, and especially jordan love, y'know, the guy that just beat him?
Chiefs fan that likes Goff a lot. I was upset with his contract. He took too much money. To me, he'd be the closest NFC rival to Mahomes if he came in at $48/year and let the Lions build up around him. At $53 he's eating a lot of cap and St Brown just got paid. That's a lot tied up in two guys. We honestly don't give him enough credit. 2 SB appearances with different teams. He's a consistent winner.
But I think he just took too much money and the Lions may have peaked at appearing in the NFCCG.
@@andrewb378 because Dak has been incredibly consistent when healthy and wins a lot of game. He's a lot like Manning in that, or Rivers. These guys win you a lot of games, but struggle in the biggest ones at times. Manning managed to get a ring in Indy which sets him apart from other great, but winless QBs. Even Marino could be mentioned. Dak isn't as good as Marino vs his peers, but in the end you have a solid regular season QB and trading out could be a massive downgrade.
Long story short, the Cowboys could do a whole lot worse than Dak and Dak could thrive somewhere else away from Jerry's meddling.
Numbered lists are ridiculous. Tier lists are the way to go.
Numbered lists don’t make sense unless stats are followed. Otherwise it’s all opinion.
@@Carlos559Caps all lists are opinions. because where you get the numbers from can also be fudged, adjusted, ignored/observed however you want to get the kind of results you want. Tier lists are the same way, now you're just doing what Dan said and putting more people in the one spot, two spot ... but, it's still all an opinion and based on whatever numbers you choose to look at or decide matter.
Tier lists don't create as much drama about who gets ranked over who. That's why they don't do them.
Agree with the tier list
Just thought this
Dan had the audacity to mention the bills TEs but not Likely and Andrews lmao
last i checked only two qbs made it to the superbowl. Purdy gets crap over his receivers, yet nobody bats an eye that his offensive line is ranked over 20.... dun dun dun
7 QBs on the screen have made it to the Super Bowl. Three in the top 10 have won a Super Bowl. Not sure what you're talking about.
When you have the greatest left tackle of this generation, and maybe the most talented offensive group ever, it balances itself out. Purdy deserves every bit of blame when they don’t succeed as he’s the clear odd man out
@jamesschenck3786 When hasn't he succeeded though. In his first season, when he came in Week 13 by the way, he helps the offense go from 24 ppg to 33 ppg, and get knocked out by injury in the NFCCG. In his second season (first as the starter in Week 1, and with zero off season work due to rehabbing his throwing elbow) he throws for more yards than any other quarterback had in the franchise's history. A history that includes Joe Montana and Steve Young, both HOFs and all timers. He played well in the SB too, but the team around him turned it over several times, and he STILL went into OT with one of the greatest QB talents we've ever seen. If an extra point doesn't get blocked, or a muffed punt not fumbled, Purdy is SB champion. That's how tight those margins were
@@planneinSo then he’s at least top 7..?
@@RDSports5people hate the Niners for Purdy falling into his lap and being contenders year after year. No one wants to give Purdy his flowers though which is wild.
Don't ask the guy that went 0-16 for the first time ever if we are fair to QBs. His answer is going to be biased all to hell lol
Yo facts I be forgetting bro went 0-16 😂😂
Also ran out the endzone for a safety lol.
@@YeeZus001 nah I always remember that one old lion qb 🤣🤣
To be fair that was mostly Jon Kitna that season
Or, how bout NOT listening to you? The one who’s never played in the NFL.
Evaluating QBs, and really any player, generally falls into two categories. Skillset and accomplishments. And almost everyone weaves between the two depending on what point they want to make. Unfortunately, our society is a little too simple to recognize that a conversation or debate with no common definition of terms will result in an endless loop. Which is what sports media loves.

I know, I'm a Rams fan, that punk kid is really good,

Functionally the worst defense on the field week in and week out, and Herbert pulls 28pts out of his ass to drag the Bolts to a win. One of the most clutch players ever, and the defense plays 10 yards off ball on a 3rd and 3.
Yes but you can't be called top 5 etc if you don't lead your team to wins/playoff runs. Just can't happen. It's unfortunate.
I'm a 9ers fan...Purdy spot is cool but Hurts being that low is criminal compared to the guys who have yet to crack the SB
Legit. He balled out in the Super Bowl. Dak is hanging by a thread in there. Purdy and hurts should be in there. Pretty stupid list.
Thank you
Steeler fan here. DON’T sleep on the Rams first two picks this year. Jared Verse and Braeden Fiske. Both guys are going to be really good NFL’ers
Rams fan. If those picks work out, I really like our SB odds. Our offense is great. Kupp will be healthy. Solid o line was slightly upgraded. Kyren has a solid backup. Its the defense that's a huge question mark. AD retired. New DC. A lot of new but talented pieces in the secondary (including Tre White). But if it all clicks, look tf out

Neither of those guys are game changers

That's why Tiers are better. No set number of players needed for each tier. There can be 3 S tier players one year and 5 the next if the players warrant it. I'm not sure how someone can argue someone is #4 while another is #5 and why, but you can realistically argue why most players are in the tier they're in.

His point is that saying "Top 5" is suggesting that those 5 are in a completely different skill category than 6-8 when in fact 6-8 are just as elite... He wasn't arguing the rankings with that specific point, he was just playing a game of semantics to make it seem like he has a unique POV

1:35 No no no… that’s just y’all not wanting to make definitive statements to avoid upsetting players or fans. “There’s more than 5 “Top 5” QBs” is a ridiculous statement/concept. Either they’re top 5 or theyre not… be it if they’re just outside that top 5 at #6 or if they’re at #28. This is _somewhat_ similar to “participation trophies” type of mentality.
Exactly! Don’t say there are 8 in the top 5. lol. I can respect the point that there are 8 elite qbs, but there are still 5 that are better than the other 3. I actually think this list is pretty dang accurate.
Herbert, Srroud, Goff, Prescott, Purdy ahead of Hurts is crazy.
The talent at the position looks so good and thrives because defense can’t play defense anymore. The rules and the game protects better than it used too
Dan is one of the best comedians they bring on the show, funny af listening to him talk footy
As a Rams fan, I love that no one ever really questions Stafford at 5. They know he's a beast and earned that spot. Plus he's one of the few out there with a ring so it's hard to dispute that
For sure! It’s time for him to get a 2nd ring and then there will be no doubt!
Stafford should be #2 on that list no question
I'm a Lions fan and while its sad for me to see that it took him going somewhere else to win and earn "some" respect(put that in quotes cause I agree he should be higher but with us he didn't even get this love) I'm happy for him that he finally got this cause he is and really always has been an elite player.
Yeah the Lions weren't good when he was here but we did make the playoffs 3 times with him and had multiple other winning seasons.
That may not sound like much but considering the non Calvin Johnson and Ndamukong SuH(for 4 years) players he played with it showed how much better he made the team and how little talent he actually had around him. Only once had a top 20 defense(won 11 games that year), never had a top 20 running game and always had a terrible O line. He made guys like Golden Tate(good player but never elite outside Staff) and Kenny Goloday(terrible without him) Pro Bowlers. Took would be 2 win teams to 7-8 win teams but never got the respect cause they only won 8 games when in reality if he had any semblence of a roster they would've been contenders.
Rodgers was asked once who he thought had the best arm. He said, 'Stafford, he has a cannon arm.' Only Stafford, Pat, and Rodgers have rings on that list.
They should! Stroud and Hurts are better, Tua when healthy is better. Stanford’s solid but he’s past his prime.
You should rank them by stats last season, not on your feelings bout the qb and team.
All 5 of the main 2020 qb class are somewhere on that list. (3 are honorable) I'm pretty sure that's never happened in the nfl draft, all of the "main" ones drafted are not only still starting but killing it.
"When you speak on the quarterback position, Dan is the guy!" Yea...the guy who just could NOT let go of his love for Carson Wentz! 😂😂
Herbert’s had the most fourth quarter comebacks since he entered the league, more than every person on this list. He did this while learning a new playbook each season in the first 3 years of his career. Cementing multiple scoring and passing records, year after year after year- which have yet to be broken. Dude is a freak, fulfilling a childhood dream of playing for the Chargers. He’s going to give them everything and the team is willing to do the same for him. Watch out for those Chargers, they might upset your _fantasy_ league.
Born n raised in buffalo. Die hard Allen fan n love my bills but Herbert would be my second pick to have as a qb
@@CHOP_ON_SOLANA Almost the same story between the two, hopefully Allen gets some help up there.
@@PlumbingGod I’m excited for the season to start. Good luck this season
Again?
deja vu, Derek Carr and the Raiders
Actually the answer to how many qb on this list or ever that has won there teams games is none ever. Football is a team sport.
There is a small few of quarterbacks that are that good enough that you could say their teams actually win more games because they are the quarterback. But that list is small. Mahomes, Burrow, Allen, and Rodgers on a good day... All the other quarterbacks are competent.
@@tomcollins5112 Rodger?? He was not good the last season he played. He have not play all season last year... We need see if He still have it after his injury.
The 6 best seasons for the Chiefs since 1970 are the 6 seasons Mahomes started. So yeah, QB makes a huge difference.
@@tomcollins5112 You forgot Stafford, you know the guy who thru the no look pass over the middle in the Super Bowl on a drive they had to have with no running back.
Lead by the guy who handles the ball... you have no football iq...
Id put anyone of those honorable mentions above Dak accepts Lawrence.
Trevor Lawrence literally has super close stats to Daniel Jones! He should not be on the list at all
Whoever is making these lists are delirious
The kicker telling the qb😂😂....ITS ONLY ENTERTAINMENT
Ridiculous that Purdy and Tua get no credit because it's "the system and talent around them", yet Stroud is top 7, and play in the same system as the other two. 😂 People are dumb
What has Tua done lol. Purdy was considered for MVP. You smoking
@@RipliWitani lol so was Tua most of the season and he lead the league in passing yards. try to keep up.
@@phantomshadowfax5431people just hate Tua. No idea why. Hes not even cocky or arrogant he’s chill and humble and a great QB. I will never understand his hate
@AceWillliams 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 a great qb??? Lmfao he is absolute 🗑 without the fastest player in the nfl taking double coverage 80% of snaps. Dude has had like 5 chances to win a big ga,e and chokes every single time including last year.
@@JohnDoe-kh6mt a lot of great QBs are not great in the playoffs. Like Kirk Cousins for example. Tua is still young he will be fine.
ez, just judeg qbs by their stats and not all yapping "what ifs"
What if he had better receivers? What if he had a better o line? It never ends. What did he do last season!?
@@reptonplaya What if the coach didn't know how to call plays? What if he was injured for 4 games, but put up the best numbers in the league over the 13 weeks he played compared to other QB's over those same 13 weeks?
@@1_underthesun I will give you that on the Coach aspect because Matt Patricia definitely didn’t know wtf he was doing with Matt Stafford.
Which stats? wins? total yards? efficiency? yards per attempt? qb rating? do running yards count? should interceptions that aren't their fault count?
Top 5 needs 8 people??? What. ??
watch the video ... lol
The only way to tell who the #1 QB is is to ask people if they had to create a new team and pick from any of the current QB's employed in the NFL who would you pick as your weak 1 starter?
3rd down conversions and red zone scoring percentage, the most important stats. These are what show how they perform when the pressure is on. There are outliers, like Manning and Brady in their prime where they would just not get to 3rd down as frequently, but those are so glaringly obvious.
Having Herbert on that list at all is crazy
Geno not being top 16 is nuts
A year ago yes, but look at his numbers and watch him play. He can make a play but he just as often holds the team back
Goff #1 go lions baby
🤣🤣🤣🤣 stop smoking weeeeed
goof at 9 is wild
Orlovsky being there instantly took any relevance out of this discussion.
Kyle got Matt Ryan an MVP and to a Super Bowl, He got Kirk Cousins paid and continues to get paid from his Washington days, he had RG3 looking unstoppable until he got hurt, Jimmy G looked amazing and went to a Super Bowl. You can’t say Purdy isn’t a system dude with all pros everywhere then say he he’s top 5. It clearly is Kyle working his magic. You put Mahomes,Jackson, or Allen on the 49ers they’re going undefeated and winning consecutive championships.
The first 4 years of Herbert's career are the perfect example for the points that were being made in this segment
The funny thing is top 10 qbs will vary from perspective. And year to year differ.
WTF. ESPN just proved they don’t know much at all about the NFL
The fact that they have Dak on that top 10 list after getting TROUNCED by Jordan Love and the Packers tells you all you need to know about the idiots that came up with this list
It's pretty easy. Especially if you consider Brady saying he's willing to take a phone call....
1. Tom Brady
2. Joe Burrow
3. Justin Herbert
4. Patrick Mahomes
5. Matthew Stafford
Dawg I remember when dan farted on live 😂😂
its nice to see Goff finally getting some respect from the national media
Dan be looking like someone they would hire to play a retired superhero in a movie where the public has turned against super heros and doesnt like them anymore
I don’t get Stafford as a top 5 QB
He love's him
What is there not to get? He's as talented as any QB on the list and has proven he can win. People upset about the Purdy hate, well that's nothing compared to the Stafford hate and it's tiring to listen to.
@@chrisnivo oh you poor lil thing😢😢
Jared goff at 9 is ridiculous. They barely had a defense and almost went to the super bowl
Burrow off an injury over Allen is criminal
Any quarterback that has won a super bowl should be raised up in the rankings.
So Nick foles who is a free agent right now should be top 5? Tyrod Taylor has a ring
@@brynd215 I meant that Matt Stafford and Aaron Rodgers should be raised up on the list, because they have proven they can win a super bowl, unlike some others.
@@brynd215 Nick Foles and Tyrod Taylor are in a different category. They are basically good backup quarterbacks, not starters.
Jordan Love threw more TDs than all of them last year except Dak AND with the youngest receivers and TE's in the league. He should be in the Top 10.
Dak above Purdy is the greatest injustice of all!!!!
Does anyone else think Dan Orlovsky looks like Dennis Reynolds from Always Sunny in Philadelphia?
Hurts & Purdy under Dak & 40 Year Old Rodgers is wild. At least it's not like the fan duel list that had Caleb Williams at 6
Top 60 qbs makes the most sense. That way everyone gets an award and no one is "pissed off" . Its ok for 5 players to be better than the rest.
3:45. Pat is 100% correct. If the patriots kickers miss clutch kicks over the years is Tom Brady a worse player due to less team success? No he is not. The same way he is not a better player due to team success.
I really like Herbert and want to see him do well, but I think we're to the point that we can say he is not elite or top 10. He's been to the post season once and lost. He had one really good season in 2021 and has been on the decline since. He was putting up numbers but he can't find ways to win. He's had 1, 10 win season, the rest were losing seasons, winning as few as 5 games. He can't keep getting put above guys like Rodgers, Stroud (who went to the conference championship his first season with little help) Purdy, hurts. Most of them have better teams and coaching, but Herbert needs to be in the honorable mentions at this point until he's back on a downward trend. And putting burrow number 2 is kind of a farce. He's a good system qb in a good system. He has done what Allen can't do in the playoffs, beating mahomes, but he has had way more help than Allen. Plus Lamar has won an mvp with little help on offense. He shouldn't be above both of them. Should go mahomes, Allen, lamar, burrow, then Stafford.
Mahomes , Jackson Allen,Stroud ,Herbert,Goff,Stamford,Love,Purdy,Tagavailoa,Cousins,Lawrence,Burrow,Rodgers,Hurtd,Prescott
This list is wild
There's 12 QBs with a better passer rating than mahomes, 4 with better TD to interception ration, 5 with more yards. Explains exactly what Pat is talking about. Team effort.
Rankings are silly it should be tiers like they use for gaming rankings.
S tier = ultra elite, HoF worthy as of today
A = Very good, will be in HoF if they continue the same trajectory
B = Good, with a good team can win a SB
C = Average, can still win with elite defenses (2000 Ravens anyone)
D = Bad
F = Kenny Pickett
It just feels unfair that purdy seems like he has to prove himself so much more than the rest of the QBs in the league.
Josh Allen would be 1 if people only compared stats without a name under it
stop dreaming
