    Lyrics:
Dinosaur, wonders why it still walks the earth, yeah
A meteor, promises it's not gonna hurt, yeah
Earth quakes always happen when you're in bed Fred
The house shakes maybe it was something I said Ned
…go easy on me, easy on me brother
…go easy on me, easy on me brother
    When the lights go out
And you throw yourself about in the darkness where you learn to see
    When the lights go out
    Don't you ever doubt
The light that we can really be
    Statues fall
Democracy is flat on its back Jack
    We had it all
And what we had is not coming back, Zac
    A big mouth
Says the people they don't want to be free for free
    The Blackout
Is this an extinction event we see?
Go easy on me, easy on me brother
Go easy on me, easy on me now
    When the lights go out
And you throw yourself about in the darkness where you learn to see
    When the lights go out
    Don't you ever doubt
The light that we can really be
    When the lights go out
    Ah, ah, oh, oh
    When the lights go out
    Ah, ah, oh, oh
    When the lights go out
    When the lights go out
    Blackout
    It's clear
    Who you are will appear
    Blackout
    No fear
So glad that we are all still here,
    Here!
    When the lights go out
    When the lights go out
    When the lights go out
    When the lights go out
And you throw yourself about in the darkness where you learn to see
    When the lights go out
    Don't you ever doubt
The light that we can really be
    When the lights go out
    Ah, ah, oh, oh
    When the lights go out
    Ah, ah, oh, oh
    When the lights go out
    When the lights go out
    When the lights go out

This live version is so much better than the album version. I wish U2 would stop over producing their music. Adam's bass in this is raw and dirty - they should have kept it that way! I want to hear an album from them that's stripped back and almost live. That's what 'Songs of Experience' should have been. U2 are best live and still the best live band I have ever seen.

Think it's one of their best! Powerful, and a bit eerie. Considering the lyrics cut makes sense. Glad I caught it live Edges wailing guitar puts it over; but they mesh it wonderfully together.

U2 is my oldest love in music. Bono's voice, Edge's great sound and guitar playing and the solid and original spine of the band with Larry and Adam who are always forgotten... Juts one of the best bands still active that never changed a band member and that was never afraid to take chances. I would love your input on our last video. If you have just 3 minutes to listen and a bit more to comment, that would mean the world to me. Keep rockin' : th-cam.com/video/ufF4gUA_6rQ/w-d-xo.html

You’re a wise kid. What’s your favorite U2 album? Impossible right? Ok, how about top 5 in order? If you’re old enough to have grown up with them as I have it’s really impossible to put their records in a “my top 5” order because each album was special because of what I was going through at the time. So I’m curious as to how a younger fan that has to go back and listen to them feels their top 5 u2 albums are in order.

U2 is bigger than anybody they were on the same page with in the 80's. Ex.: Billy Idol, Duran Duran, Culture Club, The Fixx, Elvis Costello, etc. Good song. Cheers!

A great video. The song starts with an Adam Clayton infectious groove. U2 always a high performance band, both in the studio, and especially live. C'est la vie!

I think it would fit better on Pop. I wouldn't describe their 90s work as 'their roots,' that is punk(ish). But, their 90s work is definitely their most interesting and innovative (I miss that band).
